초등 일반 학생과 과학영재 학생의 과학 탐구 학습 지향과 불일치 상황에 대한 대처 전략의 관계 비교 (The Relationship between Orientations toward Scientific Inquiry Learning and Coping Strategies for Anomalous Situations in Elementary Students: A Comparison between General and Science-Gifted Students)

  • 이 연구에서는 초등 일반 학생과 과학영재 학생의 과학 탐구 학습 지향을 조사하여 비교했다. 또한 이들의 과학 탐구 학습 지향과 불일치 상황에 대한 대처 전략의 관련성도 조사하여 비교했다. 이를 위해 서울특별시에서 초등 일반 학생 61명과 과학영재 학생 53명을 선정한 뒤, 과학 탐구 학습 지향을 조사하는 설문과 불일치 상황에 대한 대처 전략을 조사하는 설문을 실시했다. 또한 일부 일반 학생 및 과학영재 학생을 대상으로 반구조화된 심층 면담을 개별로 실시했다. 연구 결과, 학년과 관계없이 과학 탐구 학습 지향 중에서 초등 일반 학생은 '개념이해' 지향이 가장 많이 나타났으며, '과학적 실천' 지향이 두번째로 많이 나타났다. 반면 초등 과학영재 학생은 '과학적 실천' 지향의 빈도가 가장 높았으며, '개념이해'와 '복합' 지향도 비교적 자주 나타났다. '활동' 지향은 일부 일반 학생에게서만 나타났고, '공학적 실천' 지향은 일부 과학영재 학생에게서만 나타났으며, '과정기능' 지향은 나타나지 않았다. 과학 탐구 학습 지향과 불일치 상황에 대한 대처 전략 사이에 명확한 관련성을 확인하지는 못했다. 그러나 같은 과학 탐구 학습 지향을 가진 경우라도 불일치 상황에 대한 대처 전략을 선택하는 양상은 초등 일반 학생과 과학영재 학생 사이에 약간의 차이가 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 이에 대한 교육적 시사점을 논의했다.

가르치기 어려움에 대한 교육현상학적 검토 : 서양교육사에서 (A Study on Educational Difficulty in the History of Western Education)

  • The purpose of this study is researching on educational difficulty in the history of western education. In other words, the goal and significance of this paper lies in knowing the essential meaning of education based on the norms of difficulty. The major method for this study is hermeneutical-anthropological pedagogy. My fundamental claim is the following: the essential nature of teaching is difficulty at any instructional condition and situations. Such a discrete idea was clearly identified and confirmed in the process of pedagogical anthropology. That is, through the consciousness of educational difficulty and critical review for the history of western education, I can cleary define the concept of educational difficulty. Educational difficulty was various ways for understanding by all audiences. Namely, various formulars were developed for understanding it according to the age, cultures, nations, ideology, etc.. But there are continuous characters on the way for understanding on educational difficulty. The results on research are as followings. In the primitive age, fundamental difficulty of education lies in the initiation ceremony. At the classical ancient time, the purpose of education was 'Politai' with politike arete, in this educational conditions, instruction have a complex dimension politically as well as psychologically. At the medieval age, educational difficulty lies in the 'Askese' for instructional methods. In the modern and conventional age, educational difficulty is more and more complex and confused on goals, methods, evaluations, etc.. Most of all, the major or key concept of educational difficulty in this world is the conflict between the two instructional principles, that is, objectivism and constructivism in education. At now, the schoolworks for instruction over all educational situations and conditions have a difficulty of traditional as well conventional dilemma. In conclusion, educational difficulty have formal, natural, original attribute and it is general and universal phenomenon.

북한 주민의 주거생활실태와 주거행동에 관한 연구-탈북인 대상인 면접 및 설문조사 분석을 중심으로- (A Study on the Housing Life Situations of North Koreans and Their Housing Behaviors Based on the Interview and Empirical Survey with Defectors)

  • South and North Korean societies have been segregated during the past 50 years with different socioeconomic conditions and ideologies resulting in disparate living cultures even though sharing the same traditional culture. The purpose of this study was intended to examine the housing life situations of North Koreans their housing behaviors and their perceptions of differences between South and North Korean culture. The study was based on in-depth interviews and an tempirical survey with North Korean defectors. The interviews were conducted with ten defectors and the empirical survey was done with 158 North Koreans who escaped after 1990. This study revealed housing life situations such as housing type. length of residence housing layout finishing materials levels of housing facilities and the residential system. It also revealed housing dissatisfaction and housing behaviors while they were living in North Korea and attempted to discover the defectors' perceptions of the differ nces between their housing life in the South and North. The findings of this research will present a realistic and recent account of the housing situation in North Korea. We hope that the result of this study will serve to foster understanding between two Koreas.

Spatiotemporal Routing Analysis for Emergency Response in Indoor Space

  • Geospatial research on emergency response in multi-level micro-spatial environments (e.g., multi-story buildings) that aims at understanding and analyzing human movements at the micro level has increased considerably since 9/11. Past research has shown that reducing the time rescuers needed to reach a disaster site within a building (e.g., a particular room) can have a significant impact on evacuation and rescue outcomes in this kind of disaster situations. With the purpose developing emergency response systems that are capable of using complex real-time geospatial information to generate fast-changing scenarios, this study develops a Spatiotemporal Optimal Route Algorithm (SORA) for guiding rescuers to move quickly from various entrances of a building to the disaster site (room) within the building. It identifies the optimal route and building evacuation bottlenecks within the network in real-time emergency situations. It is integrated with a Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) based tracking system in order to monitor dynamic geospatial entities, including the dynamic capacities and flow rates of hallways per time period. Because of the limited scope of this study, the simulated data were used to implement the SORA and evaluate its effectiveness for performing 3D topological analysis. The study shows that capabilities to take into account detailed dynamic geospatial data about emergency situations, including changes in evacuation status over time, are essential for emergency response systems.

초등수학에서의 곱셈구구 지도 순서에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Sequence of Teaching Multiplication Facts in the Elementary School Mathematics)

  • The purpose of ths study is to compare and analyze the sequence of teaching multiplication facts in the elementary school mathematics. Generally, the multiplication in the elementary school mathematics is composed of the followings; concepts of multiplication, situations involving multiplication, didactical models for multiplication, and multiplication strategies for teaching multiplication facts. This study is focusing to multiplication facts, especially to the sequence of teaching and multiplication strategies. The method of this study is a comparative and analytic method. In order to compare textbooks, we select the Korean elementary mathematics textbooks(1st curriculum~2009 revised curriculum) and the 9 foreign elementary mathematics textbooks(Japan, China, Germany, Finland, Hongkong etc.). As results of comparative investigation, the sequence of teaching multiplication facts is reconsidered on a basis of elementary students' mathematical thinking. And the connectivity of multiplication facts is strengthened in comparison with the foreign elementary mathematics textbooks. Finally multiplication strategies for teaching multiplication facts are discussed for more understanding and reasoning the principles of multiplication facts in the elementary school mathematics.

미국 예외주의의 변주: 영화 <라이언 일병 구하기>와 <위 워 솔저스> (Variation of American Exceptionalism: Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers)

  • This study explores how American war films modify or reenact American exceptionalism depending on political and social situations in the United States. To this end, it analyzes the two war films, Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers that were released before and after the 9/11 attacks as a critical juncture in the twenty first century, respectively. While the former conducts a partial modification on American exceptionalism in order to restore the national identity and moral authority of the United States lost ever since the Vietnam War, the latter demonstrates a complete reenactment of American exceptionalism in accordance with the foreign policy of the Bush administration and neoconservatism. It concludes with the illumination that the examination of American war films within the framework of American exceptionalism is efficacious in understanding from a broad perspective how American exceptionalism is utilized depending on political and social situations in the United States.

유아의 정서표현규칙: 유아의 성, 정서표현의도 및 정서상황과의 관련성 (Emotional Display Rules: Preschooler' Gender, Emotional Display Intentions and Positive/Negative Emotion)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate emotional display rules and intentions of preschool children, any gender differences and the emotional intentions according to levels of understanding of emotional display rules and positive vs. negative situations. The subjects were 58 six-year-old preschoolers who were individually interviewed using 7 hypothetical scenarios that assessed emotional display rules and intentions. The children showed more self-protective intention than other intentions, although there were no gender differences in using emotional display intentions. Children with high scores of emotional display rules frequently tended to use prosocial and self-protective intentions and also used different emotional intentions on positive vs. negative emotional situations.

Ionic Mass Transport Correlation of Double-Diffusive Convection in Horizontal Fluid Layers

  • Here is investigated the characteristics of double-diffusive convection in thermally-stable stratified horizontal fluid layer. By employing an electrochemical technique, and adopting aqueous CuSO$_4$-H$_2$SO$_4$solution as electrolyte, experiments on ionic mass transfer have been conducted systematically. And, also a new mass transfer correlation in double-diffusive situations has been derived by extending the model of micro-scales of turbulence, which was proposed by Arpaci. The resulting correlation of the Sherwood number as a function of the thermal Rayleigh number was in good agreement with the present experimental results. The present study provides plausible understanding in controlling both mass and heat transfer rates for practical situations including double-diffusive convection.

또래 관계 (Peer Relations)

  • The main body of research literature on peer relations has focused on its effects on children's psychosocial and emotional development from preschool period to adolescence. Topics of the research generally consist of peer acceptance/rejection, friendships, and peer victimization. In the review of domestic and international research conducted since late 1990, research trends and issues are described in this paper. Findings suggest some measures in interventions, prevention, and policies in promoting positive peer relations. Some social skill trainings are needed for children to react appropriately in peer relations and get along with their peers. In addition, there is a need for differentiation of the intervention programs by participants' roles in bullying situations and gender of children. Moreover, a longitudinal research is required to enhance the understanding of developmental changes in peer relations.

분수의 곱셈과 나눗셈에 대한 학생의 이해와 문장제 해결의 관련성 분석 (An Analysis of the Relationship between Students' Understanding and their Word Problem Solving Strategies of Multiplication and Division of Fractions)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate how students understand multiplication and division of fractions and how their understanding influences the solutions of fractional word problems. Thirteen students from 5th to 6th grades were involved in the study. Students' understanding of operations with fractions was categorized into "a part of the parts", "multiplicative comparison", "equal groups", "area of a rectangular", and "computational procedures of fractional multiplication (e.g., multiply the numerators and denominators separately)" for multiplications, and "sharing", "measuring", "multiplicative inverse", and "computational procedures of fractional division (e.g., multiply by the reciprocal)" for divisions. Most students understood multiplications as a situation of multiplicative comparison, and divisions as a situation of measuring. In addition, some students understood operations of fractions as computational procedures without associating these operations with the particular situations (e.g., equal groups, sharing). Most students tended to solve the word problems based on their semantic structure of these operations. Students with the same understanding of multiplication and division of fractions showed some commonalities during solving word problems. Particularly, some students who understood operations on fractions as computational procedures without assigning meanings could not solve word problems with fractions successfully compared to other students.
