Ubiquitous technology(UT)의 발전과 더불어 특성 산업에 가시적인 적용 성과가 나타남으로써, 전통적인 제조업에서도 ubiquitous 환경 구현 및 제조기술(MT: Manufacturing Technology)과의 융합을 통한 제조혁신의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 ubiquitous factory 구현을 위한 체계적인 서비스 개발을 위해서, factory에 적용할 수 있는 특정 서비스 platform 개발을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해, 서비스 개발 platform과 관련된 연구와 ubiquitous 서비스 개발 방법론 등을 분석하여 factory 현장에 바로 적용할 수 있는 platform을 개발하였다. 개발된 platform을 검증하기 위해 사례분석을 통해 연관분석을 실시함으로써 본 연구의 타당성을 검토하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 platform은 ubiquitous factory를 구현하는데 활용될 예정이며, 향후 적용을 통한 개선사항을 도출하여 제조혁신을 위한 방법론으로 정립할 예정이다.

Network infrastructure has spread to an unprecedented extent and is used in various computing devices, such as smart appliances, smart phones, and embedded devices with sensors, which have all been appearing in the computing environment. To accommodate this trend, for a more intelligent service environment, the service platform needs to have abilities that facilitate the operation between services, dynamically share distributed computing resources, and manage appropriate contextual information. We have simulated a service platform to provide intelligent services using contextual information after having implemented the context management service. The context management service gathers raw contextual information from sensors and stores these in the context database. For a consistent basis of contextual information, time and location are used as the key values of the contextual information. The context management service also performs normalization to provide computable contextual information to context-aware applications. In this paper, a service platform based on Jini technology is proposed for constructing an interoperable, dynamic, and . intelligent service environment using contextual information.

무선 통신의 발전으로 인하여 PDA, 휴대전화 등의 이동기기를 위한 멀티미디어 서비스의 개발 또한 빠르게 발전하고 있다. 이러한 모바일 멀티미디어 서비스의 개발에는 모바일 컴퓨팅의 요구조건을 효율적으로 제어할 수 있는 플랫폼이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 무선 통신의 잦은 통신단절과 모바일 디바이스의 시스템 자원부족에 대응하기 위하여 모바일 에이전트 기반의 그리드 시스템을 사용하는 적응형 서비스 플랫폼을 제시하고, 서비스 플랫폼의 활용예로 모바일 원격 교육 또는 화상 회의에 사용되는 RtoA (Ready-to-Attend) 프레임워크를 구성하였다. RtoA는 사용자들에게 원활한 유비쿼터스 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 그리드 시스템을 이용한 핸드오프, 스피커, 리스너 서비스를 제공한다. ns-2를 이용한 성능평가의 결과 RtoA는 모바일 디바이스의 에너지 소모량을 줄이고, 응답시간을 향상시키는데 효율적임이 증명되었다.

In this paper, we describe ubiquitous environments and the trend of convergence that is an evolution path of current telecommunication, and show the concept of broadband convergence network, service feature and evolution path. In order to converge wire and wireless communication, telecommunication and broadcasting, voice and data efficiently, broadband convergence network divides a network into service layer, control layer, transport layer, ubiquitous access and terminal layer. Broadband convergence network will be a network that can provide and control broadband multimedia services with QoS and securityof different and customized level. Then we depict characteristics and types of broadband multimedia service, and describe the characteristic of broadband convergence network. Finally, we show ubiquitous network based on the broadband convergence network to provide ubiquitous service which is a future telecommunication service. We also describe requirements of ubiquitous network such as an intelligent and context based platform, convergence terminals, ubiquitous computing devices, etc., and give various emerging technologies and those applications.

네트워크 및 정보통신 기술의 발달로 유비쿼터스(Ubiquitous) 환경은 빠르게 구체화되면서 미래의 정보 기술 산업을 주도할 기술로 주목받고 있으며, 이를 위해 각종 센서(Sensor)들로부터 인식된 데이터는 사용자에게 서비스를 제공하기 위한 데이터로 사용 할 수 있도록 처리하여 응용 서비스에 전달되어야 한다. 그러나 각종 센서에 대한 메타데이터(Metadata) 및 인터페이스에 대한 정의가 불분명하여 응용 서비스에서 데이터의 이용을 위한 접근이 어렵고, 서로 다른 플랫폼(Platform) 및 프로토콜(Protocol)에서 오는 제약으로 응용 서비스로의 센서 측정 데이터 전달에 제약이 따르는 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 센서 데이터 서비스를 통해 센서와 측정 데이터를 표현하고 서비스를 기술하는 센서 서비스 기술언어를 설계하였다. 또한 웹서비스(Web Service)를 이용하여 응용 서비스로 센서 데이터를 전달하는 센서 데이터 처리시스템을 구현하였다. 이를 통해 센서 데이터를 교환하는데 있어 상호 호환성을 보장하기 위한 표준화의 참고 모델로 활용될 것이다.

미래 사회는 모든 현실 공간의 사물에 센싱과 통신 능력이 부여되어 인간 중심의 접근에 의해 다양한 서비스가 제공되는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅(Ubiquitous Computing)이 일상화 될 것이다. 이런 유비쿼터스 서비스의 실현을 위해서는 센서 네트워크(Sensor Network)를 통한 주변 환경의 상황 및 위치인식과 같은 기술이 요구되며 센싱된 데이터는 가공되어 응용 서비스에 전달되어져야 한다. 그러나 각 센서에 대한 데이터 활용의 접근성, 이기종간의 플랫폼(Platform) 및 프로토콜(Protocol) 등의 문제는 응용 서비스로의 센서 데이터 전달에 제약이 되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 표준화된 프로토콜을 사용하여 플랫폼과 구현언어에 독립적인 USN 응용 서비스를 위한 참조모델을 제시한다.

The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication services is being accelerated by broadband networks, digital broadcasting and Web2.0. This paper describes the definition and service characteristics of IPTV as a representative of broadcasting and telecommunication convergence services. Especially, the changes of infrastructure and technology for IPTV2.0 are addressed in terms of the service features of mobility, intelligence and participation. IPTV2.0 shall be characterized by the open IPTV service based on Web2.0 and the mobile IPTV service over the heterogeneous networks employing various wireless/wired access technologies. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Service Delivery Platform (SDP) technologies are increasingly considered to support the personalization and openness. The mobility management technology is being evolved to provide QoS-guaranteed mobile communication services to users at anytime and anywhere. IPTV2.0 services and platforms are also anticipated to be core components to achieve knowledge-based ubiquitous society. IPTV2.0 contents are required to be integrated with the enhanced metadata to efficiently support search, selection, convergence and delivery of the contents. Moreover, those contents shall be enhanced to provide the scalable services which is adaptable to the network status and user preferences. Therefore, the networking technologies for IPTV2.0 should tightly cooperate with application services and adaptive contents. Those technologies will be developed to construct the ubiquitous content service platform considering the evolution of networks and various converged services.

최근 인터넷의 보급 및 컴퓨터 네트워크 기술의 발전과 더불어 차세대 컴퓨팅 패러다임으로 불리는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅(Ubiquitous Computing)을 실현하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 실현하기 위해서는 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 환경에 포함되어 있는 각종 센서들로부터 인식된 데이터를 실시간으로 수집하고 처리하여 응용서비스에 전달되어야 한다. 그러나 각종 센서에 대한 메타데이터 및 인터페이스에 대한 정의가 불분명하고 데이터에 대한 응용서비스의 어려운 접근성, 서로 상이한 플랫폼(platform)과 프로토콜(protocol)에서 발생하는 상호운용성의 부재, 실제 응용에 필요한 이벤트 정의의 비 표준화 문제 등으로 인해 실제 USN 응용서비스를 실현하는데 여러 문제점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 센서의 측정 데이터와 서비스의 메타데이터를 표준화된 형태로 기술할 수 있도록 XML 기반의 센서 서비스 기술 언어를 정의하였다. 또한 다양한 센서 서비스를 불특정 다수의 사용자가 다양한 응용 환경에서 센서 데이터를 표준화된 프로토콜을 사용하여 서비스 받을 수 있도록 USN 응용 서비스를 위한 웹 서비스 기반의 참조 모델을 제안 및 구현하였다.

In this paper, we design a mobile phone based remote control system for PC using SKT WPAN platform and compare the presented platform with that of Windows Mobile. The usability of WPAN is one of the main issues which should be considered for the ubiquitous services. For easy development and easy use of the WPAN applications, SKT WPAN platform provides abstract WPAN APIs and WPAN Application Manager for ubiquitous services. In this paper, we implement a remote control application using the WPAN platform and show the validity of the platform comparing with other platforms. In the implemented application, we use WPAN abstract APIs on the mobile phone side and a general Bluetooth APIs on the PC for a connection between phone and PC. Through the implementation and comparison, we show that the WPAN application can be easily developed with WPAN platform.
