  • The paper reviews gauge R&R studies by two-factor mixed models including random and fixed factors. The two-factor mixed models include restricted models and unrestricted models considering the interaction of two factors. This study also classifies the models according to the number of factors, and the combination of various factors such as random factor, fixed factor, block factor and repetition type.

  • Various researchers conducted the research on two-factor authentication suitable for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) after Das first proposed two-factor authentication combining the smart card and password. After then, To improve the security of user authentication, elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)-based authentication protocols have been proposed. Jiang et al. proposed a privacy-aware two-factor authentication protocol based on ECC for WSM for resolving various problems of ECC-based authentication protocols. However, Jiang et al.'s protocol has the vulnerabilities on a lack of mutual authentication, a risk of SID modification and a lack of sensor anonymity, and user's ID exposed on sensor node Therefore, this paper proposed security enhanced privacy-aware two-factor authentication protocol for wireless sensor networks to solve the problem of Jiang et al.'s protocol, and security analysis was conducted for the proposed protocol.

  • The Bayes factors with improper noninformative priors are defined only up to arbitrary constants. So it is known that Bayes factors are not well defined due to this arbitrariness in Bayesian hypothesis testing and model selections. The intrinsic Bayes factor and the fractional Bayes factor have been used to overcome this problem. In this paper, we suggest a Bayesian hypothesis testing based on the intrinsic Bayes factor and the fractional Bayes factor for the comparison of two lognormal variances. Using the proposed two Bayes factors, we demonstrate our results with some examples.

  • The overall aim of this paper is to determine coupling loss factor of welding point between shell and cylinder using loss factor and structural loss factor. For this purpose, two kinds of loss factor were adopted. One is loss factor of each sub structure, another is structural loss factor based on the complex welded or assembled structure. Using these two parameters, it ispossible to derive the coupling loss factor which represent characteristic condition of SEA theory. Coupling loss factor of conjunction in complex structure was expressed as power balance equation. The derived equation for a coupling loss factor has been simplified on the assumption of one way (uni-directional) power flow between multi-sub structures. Using these conditions, it is possible to find the equation of coupling loss factor expressed as above two loss factors. To check the effectiveness of above equation, this paper used two-stage application. The first approach was application between simple cylinder and shell. The next was adopted rotary compressor. Rotary compressor has three main conjunctions between shell and internal vibration part. This equation was applied to find out the optimum welding point with respect to reduce the noise propagation. It shows the effective tool to evaluate the coupling loss factor in complex structure

  • Switching power supply systems are widely used in many industrial fields. Power factor correction (PFC) circuits have a tendency to be applied in new power supply designs. The input active power factor correction (APFC) circuits can be implemented in either the two-stage approach or the single-stage approach. The two-stage approach can be classified into boost type PFC circuit and dc/dc converter. The power factor correction circuit with a boost converter used as an input power source is studied in this paper. In a boost power factor correction circuit there are two feedback control loops, which are a current feedback loop and a voltage feedback loop. In this paper, the regulation performance of output voltage and compensator to improve the transient response presented at the continuous conduction mode (CCM) of the boost PFC circuit is analyzed. The validity of designed boost PFC circuit is confirmed by MATLAB simulation and experimental results.

  • Drawing on Herzberg's two-factor theory, this article suggests that visitors to rural tourism base their overall evaluation with an experience on their consideration of two types of aspects referred to as either 'motivators' and 'hygienes' by using the critical incident technique. 233 critical incidents described by 121 participants are categorized into three exclusive factors which are named as experiential factor, cognitive factor, and affective factor. The application of Herzberg's two-factor theory to rural tourism suggests 'satisfiers' to come from the experience-activity itself, experiential factor. While more peripheral elements constitute 'dissatisfiers', cognitive factor. The paper provides the advancement and broad application of Herzberg's theory to further understand rural tourists satisfaction.

  • Amide analogs of tridecapeptide ${\alpha}$-factor (WHWLQLKPGQPMYCONH$_2$) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, in which Trp at position 1 and 3 were replaced with other residues, were synthesized to ascertain whether cooperative interactions between two Trp residues occurred upon binding with its receptor. Analogs containing Ala or Aib at position 3 of the peptide $[Ala_3]{\alpha}$-factor amide (2) and $[Aib_3]{\alpha}$-factor amide (5) exhibited greater decreases in bioactivity than analogs with same residue at position one $[Ala^1]{\alpha}$-factor amide (1) and $[Aib^1]{\alpha}$-factor amide (4), reflecting that $Trp^3$ may plays more important role than $Trp^1$ for agonist activity. Analogs containing Ala or Aib in both position one and three 3, 6 exhibited complete loss of bioactivity, emphasizing both the essential role and the combined role of two indole rings for triggering cell signaling. In contrast, double substituted analog with D-Trp in both positions 9 exhibited greater activity than single substituted analog with D-Trp 8 or deleted analog 7, reflecting the combined contribution of two tryptophane residues of ${\alpha}$-factor ligand to activation of Ste2p through interaction with residue $Tyr^{266}$ and importance of the proper parallel orientation of two indole rings for efficient triggering of signal G protein coupled activation. Among ten amide analogs, $[Ala^{1,3}]{\alpha}$-factor amide (3), $[Aib^{1,3}]{\alpha}$-factor amide (6), [D-$Trp^3]{\alpha}$-factor amide (8) and [des-$Trp^1,Phe^3]{\alpha}$-factor amide (10) were found to have antagonistic activity. Analogs 3 and 6 showed greater antagonistic activity than analogs 8 and 10.

  • When X and Y have independent two parameter exponential distributions, we develop a Bayesian testing procedures for the equality of two location parameters. The reference prior in non-regular exponential model is derived. Under this reference prior, we propose a Bayesian test procedures for the equality of two location parameters using fractional Bayes factor and intrinsic Bayes factor. Simulation study and some real data examples are provided.
