Multiple Watermarking Using Gram-Schmidt Orthogonal Processing (Gram-Schmidt 직교화를 이용한 다중 워터마킹)

  • In this paper, we consider a multiple watermarking for image copyright protection. Multiple watermarking can be defined that two or more watermarks are inserted into the same content. Multiple watermarking using spread spectrum technique is able to extract the correct watermarks from the watermarked content when the orthogonality among keys should be guaranteed only. To keep the orthogonal property between keys, we perform the process of Gram-Schmidt on the random sequences. The orthogonalized sequences are used as keys to embed the watermarks. The proposed method can not only extract correctly the embedded watermarks but also show the robustness against various attacks such as Gaussian noise addition, histogram equalization, gamma correlation, sharpening and brightness/contrast adjustment.

  • We are familiar with the holography in these days. For making holography the coherent sources like LASER are used in many fields. But coherent holography has many problems. Coherent holography needs many instrument for practical use like 3-D TV case. In solving the problem we use the non-coherent source. Nowadays many methods like conoscopic holo graphy using anisotropic crystal, shadow casting and interferometric systems are suggested. In this paper we make the hologram using the triangular interferometric systems. [1],[2],[3],[4]. We explain the afocal and double-afocal system which consists of the triangular interferometric system. The holography made in one point and two point cases is imaged on CCD camera and we handle the image data digitally for the reconstruction efficiently. In reconstructing the hologram the Fraunhofer diffraction theory is used. We adopt the rectangular aperture for the convenience of calculation. In the future we must reconstruct the perfect 3-Dimensional object by optical method. For this, we have many problems like resolution problem. We must solve these problem for perfect reconstruction.

A Case of Narcolepsy by Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (주간졸음증 환자로부터 기면증 1예 보고)

  • We report a case of narcolepsy. A 25-year-old man has had excessive daytime sleepiness of about 10 years durations. He awakens daily feeling exhausted and continually falls asleep during the day while engaged in such situation like reading and watching television. He has exhibited cataplexy, a sudden loss of muscular tone, brought on by emotion, usually laughter. Polysomnogram revealed increased sleep stage 1, 2 and decreased deep sleep. Multiple sleep latency test (MSLT) showed that sleep latency was 1.33 minutes and there were 3 noted sleep onset rapid eye movement (SOREM) on 5 trials. The epworth sleepiness scale (ESS) was 17/24. Typing of HLA haplotype that was positive for the $DQB1^{\ast}0602$ allele, and hypocretin-1 (orexin A) could not be detected in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Brain MRI showed normal image. We diagnosed his case as narcolepsy based on history of cataplexy, and three occurances of SOREM, and positive of HLA haplotype.

Analysis of the Housewives' Awareness and Demands on Livestock Products HACCP System (주부 대상의 축산물 HACCP 인지도 및 요구도 분석)

  • According to the analysis which investigated visitors of HACCP system certified stores and non-visitors of such stores on the awareness of HACCP for livestock products, 77.1% (246 pollees) heard of HACCP certification for livestock products, 67.1% (214 pollees) had seen the HACCP certification mark for livestock products, 62.1% (198 pollees) heard of HACCP certification for livestock products in meet retail shops, and 51.4% (164 pollees) were not aware of the recent TV · subway advertisements regarding HACCP certification for livestock products. For every questionnaire on the awareness of HACCP for livestock products, visitors of HACCP system certified stores showed significantly higher response rate than nonvisitors (p<0.01, p<0.001). The majority of pollees (74.9%, 239 pollees) replied that the word HACCP for livestock products brings up the image of safe livestock products, and 37.0% answered that the term HACCP defines 'Hazard analysis critical control point'. Regarding the questions on HACCP system for livestock products, 38.6% showed that they were most curious in terms of the benefits of such system. The demand analysis on HACCP for livestock products for consumer was also conducted. In the analysis, the demand for support of the policy (4.06 points) was higher than demand for education · public promotion of HACCP (4.03 points) and demand for related application (3.90 points).

Analysis on Subjective Image Quality Assessments for 4K-UHD Video Viewing Environments (4K-UHD 비디오 시청환경 특성분석을 위한 주관적 화질평가 분석)

  • In this paper, we perform subjective visual quality assessments on UHD video for UHD TV services and analyze the assessment results. Demands for video services have been increased with availabilities of DTV, Internet and personal media equipments. With this trend, the demands for high definition video have also been increasing. Currently, 2K-HD ($1920{\times}1080$) video have been widely consumed over DTV, DVD, digital camcoders, security cameras and other multimedia terminals in various types, and recently digital cinema contents of 4K-UHD($3840{\times}2160$) have been popularly produced and the cameras, beam projects, display panels that support for 4K-UHD video start to come out into multimedia markets. Also it is expected that 4K-UHD service will appear soon in broadcasting and telecommunications environments. Therefore, in this paper, subjective assessments of visual quality on resolutions, color formats, frame rates and compression rates have been carried to provide basis information for standardization of signal specification of UHD video and viewing environments for future UHDTV. As the analysis on the assessments, UHD video exhibits better subjective visual quality than HD by the evaluators. Also, the 4K-UHD test sequences in YUV444 shows better subjective visual quality than the 4K-UHD test sequences in YUV422 and YUV420, but there is little perceptual difference on 4K-UHD test sequences between YUV422 and YUV420 formats. For the comparison between different frame rates, 4K-UHD test sequences of 60fps gives better subjective visual quality than those of 30fps. For bit-depth comparison, HD test sequences in 10-bit depth were little differentiated from those in 8-bit depth in subject visual quality assessment. Lastly, the larger the PSNR values of the reconstructed 4K-UHD test sequences are, the higher the subjective visual quality is. Against the viewing distances, the differences among encoded 4K-UHD test sequences were less distinguished in longer distances from the display.

A Study of Weight Control and Associated Factors among High School Female Students (서울 일부 지역 여고생의 체중조절 및 이와 관련된 요인)

  • The study purpose was to examine weight control status and related factors among 370 high school girls in Seoul. Factors examined included interest toward weight control, body satisfaction, body image, beliefs regarding weight control and self-efficacy. $65.1\%$ had attempted to control weight and were categorized into attempt group. Those in the attempt group had higher body weight (p < 0.001) and BMI (p < 0.001) than the counterparts. They tried to control weight 2.9 times on average (22.4 days each time). The major information sources for weight control were internet ($62.8\%$), and TV/radio ($17.1\%$). Exercise was most commonly used for weight control, followed by reducing meal amount and skipping dinner. The attempt group was less satisfied with body size (p < 0.001) and perceived their body size as heavier than the counterparts (p < 0.001), but they showed more interest toward weight control (p < 0.001). The ideal body size of society or the body size that they want was very thin in both groups. Twelve out of 20 beliefs regarding weight control were significantly different between the two groups. The attempt group believed more strongly on the advantages such as increased self-confidence, appearance, attractiveness (p < 0.001) and 'good for making friends' (p < 0.01) In contrast, the attempt group believed less strongly about the disadvantages including harmful effects on health (p < 0.001), parents' dislike, feelings of discouragement (p < 0.01) and becoming (p < 0.05). The attempt group showed lower overall self-efficacy to control overeating (p < 0.05) than the counterparts. Especially, the attempt group felt less control of overeating in situations such as eating-out, after school, when they are with family (p < 0.01) or with friends, when they feel hungry, during examination periods and when others offer food (p < 0.05). This study suggested that weight management education for adolescents include strategies for changing body image and beliefs regarding weight control, as well as increasing self-efficacy to control overeating. The Effects of the News Media, Campaign Media, and Political Talk on Voters' Candidate Images and Political Decision Making -A Study of the 17th Presidential Election in Korea- (뉴스미디어, 캠페인 미디어, 그리고 정치 대화가 후보자 이미지와 정치적 의사결정에 미치는 영향 -제17대 대통령 선거를 중심으로-)

  • Candidate images refer to a holistic impression of a candidate which is composed of various dimensions of attributes. This study investigated how online and offline news media, campaign media such as political ads, televised debates, and candidate web-sites, and interpersonal political talk influenced voters' images of a candidate in such dimensions as personal traits, job-performance abilities, and policy capabilities, and further their political decision making in the 17th presidential election in Korea. The analysis focused on President Lee, Myung Bak who won the election by obtaining nearly 50% of the effective votes. According to the data analyses, first, uses of offline newspapers positively influenced voters' images of candidate Lee's personal traits such as his morality, integrity, trustworthiness, and compassion, yet online news uses had an opposite effect on voters' impression of his job-performance and economic policy capabilities. Secondly, among various campaign media, television ads and candidate web-sites positively contributed to the formation of candidate Lee's images, yet showed little direct effect on vote choice, indicating that campaign media mainly indirectly influenced voters' political decision making. Each of the first, second, and third televised candidate debates revealed unique effects on image formation and vote choice. Thirdly, the network size and frequency of political talk negatively influenced image formation regarding candidate Lee's personal traits and economic policy capabilities, yet the discussion network size positively contributed to the Lee votes. Forth, among various dimensions of candidate images, voters' perceptions of candidate Lee's personal traits appeared to be the most significant predictor of the support for him.

Expression of image contents based on property of digital signage - Focuses on the Digital Signage in Public Transport (디지털 사이니지의 특성에 따른 영상콘텐츠의 변화 -버스와 지하철 내 디지털 사이니지를 중심으로)

  • TV display which existed only in house started to show up out of house around us and now it found naturally its place in everywhere like street, bus, subway and elevator. It is called digital signage which showed up through digitalization of sign, that is, sign board and bulletin board. The distinction of digital sign from existing signs is that the latter one should go through physical process like removal after installation every time its contents are changed but the former one can produce its various outputs flexibly once it is installed. Also existing sign may be static image or 2 or 3 pieces of image to express simple motion while digital sign can contain multi media contents luxurious in design and motion. This paper confined the range of contents in digital signage in bus and subway. It needs to analyze characteristics of mass transportation-people of use, consumer by place and time, accommodation environment for consumer etc and arrange planned contents along with time and place. Developments of dedicated contents suitable to those digital signages will harmonize with place and time and promote the realm of digital signage which provides variety of experience to consumer and with which communication is possible and which is distinctive. Furthermore we may expect the birth of smart signage as a new media, in which fun and art are combined.

  • Purpose: This preliminary rabbit study was conducted to evaluate the effect of recombinant human transforming growth factor-${\beta}2$ (rhTGF-${\beta}2$)/poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) coating on osseointegration of the titanium (Ti) implant. Materials and methods: Eight Ti implants were anodized with 300 voltages for three minutes. Four of those were coated with rhTGF-${\beta}2$/PLGA by an electrospray method as the experimental group. The implants were placed into tibiae of four New Zealand rabbits, two implants per a tibia, one implant per each group. After 3 and 6 weeks, every two rabbits were sacrificed and micro-computed tomography (microCT) was taken for histomorphometric analysis. Results: In scanning electron microscope (SEM) image, the surface of rhTGF-${\beta}2$/PLGA coated Ti implant showed well distributed particles. Although statistically insignificant, microCT analysis showed that experimental group has higher bone volume / total volume (BV/TV) and trabecular thickness (Tb.Th) values relatively. Cross sectional view also showed more newly formed bone in the experimental group. Conclusion: In the limitation of this study, rhTGF-${\beta}2$/PLGA particles coating on the Ti implant show the possibility of more favorable quantity of newly formed bone after implant installation.

Design of Video Encoder activating with variable clocks of CCDs for CCTV applications (CCTV용 CCD를 위한 가변 clock으로 동작되는 비디오 인코더의 설계)

  • SONY corporation preoccupies $80\%$ of a market of the CCD used in a CCTV system. The CCD of SONY have high duality which can not follow the progress of capability. But there are some problems which differ the clock frequency used in CCD from the frequency used in common video encoder. To get the result by using common video encoder, the system needs a scaler that could adjust image size and PLL that synchronizes CCD's with encoder's clock So, this paper proposes the video encoder that is activated at equal clock used in CCD without scaler and PLL. The encoder converts ITU-R BT.601 4:2:2 or ITU-R BT.656 inputs from various video sources into NTSC or PAL signals in CVBS. Due to variable clock, property of filters used in the encoder is automatically changed by clock and filters adopt multiplier-free structures to reduce hardware complexity. The hardware bit width of programmable digital filters for luminance and chrominance signals, along with other operating blocks, are carefully determined to produce hish-quality digital video signals of ${\pm}1$ LSB error or less. The proposed encoder is experimentally demonstrated by using the Altera Stratix EP1S80B953C6ES device.
