ATM network technology is generally used for the integration of multimedia services in high-speed Internet. ABR (Available Bit Rate) and UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) service classes have been developed specifically to support data application. In this paper, through the result of simulation, we analyzed the effect of TCP data transmission performance by using FRR (Fast Retransmission and Recovery) and Nagle's Algorithm on the UBR service, and by adjusting EFCI switch parameter on the ABR service. As a result of our study, performance improvement of TCP over ATM network is observed by adjusting TCP parameters and setting of effective switch parameter.
In this paper, experiments through performance evaluation under real operation environment were conducted. Transceiver and microcontroller shows the characteristics for the amount of current consumption and software protocol was optimized by controlling the time of Report Attribute and electric current level. To reduce current consumption when using battery, with designing transmission of the same amount of data as soon as possible, power consumption efficiency was enhanced.

In order to provide seamless wireless Internet service, the basic mobile IP protocol should be enhanced to solve packet loss problem from large registration latency because frequent handoffs occur in cellular networks. In this paper, we suggest a new micro-mobility management protocol based on MPLS while supporting Qos, and evaluate its performance using simulation. We use MPLS label switching techniuqe in cellular access networks to simplify location management and speed up packet transmission. We adopt context transfer procedure to minimize the delay needed to attain prior level of service after handoff Packet loss can be minimized during handoff by transmitting received packets from old BSLER to new BSLER using a spliced LSP between them. Simulation results show that the proposed MPLS-based micro-mobility management protocol provides a seamless handoff and supports QoS of user traffic.
With the growth of the internet, the number of wireless internet users has increased continuously up to date. However, mobile communications could not support high speed transmission rate with cheap communication fee and wireless LAN has problems in providing terminal mobility and wide area connectivity, respectively. So the WMAN standard has been newly designed to make up for these limits. The initial 802.16 specification effectively offers a solution for providing fixed users with high speed wireless communication but it does not offer terminal mobility. So the 802.16d and 802.16e have been developed as the next generation solution that can support various PHY layer (SC, SCa, OFDM, OFDMA) and offer the terminal mobility. In this paper, we propose an effective uplink scheduling algorithm for VoIP with using UGS, and we show that our proposed algorithm is superior in view of average delay and management of uplink bandwidth to conventional rtPS algorithm and the scheme in reference, with using NS-2 network simulator.

In this paper, we present hybrid ARQ techniques to improve the throughput performance in high speed packet transmission such as Internet or multimedia services in Hospital. In order to evaluate the performance of the three different types of hybrid ARQ schemes, systemized link level simulations based on WWW traffic model are considered. In this paper, we also consider the simulated performance for an average link throughput and a normalized packet delay to compare the hybrid ARQ with link adaptation scheme in GPRS.
Ultra-wide-angle wireless endoscopes are demonstrated in this paper. The endoscope is composed of an ultra-wide-angle camera module and wireless transmission module. A lens unit with the ultra-wide FOV of 162 degrees is designed and manufactured. The lens, image sensor, and camera processor unit are packaged together in a $3{\times}3{\times}9-cm3$ case. The wireless transmission modules are implemented based on UWB- and WiFi-based platform, respectively. The UWB-based module can transmit HD video to a computer in resolution of $2048{\times}1536$ (QXGA) and the frame rate of 15 fps in MJPEG compression mode. The maximum data transfer rate reaches 41.2 Mbps. The FOV and the resolution of the endoscope is comparable to a medical-grade endoscope. The FOV and resolution is ~3X and 16X higher than that of a commercial high-performance WiFi endoscope, respectively. The WiFi-based module streams out video to a smart device with th maximum date transfer rate of 1.5 Mbps at the resolution of $640{\times}480$ (VGA) and the frame rate of 30 fps in MJPEG compression mode. The implemented components show the feasibility of cheap medical-grade wireless electronic endoscopes, which can be effectively used in u-healthcare, emergency treatment, home-healthcare, remote diagnosis, etc.
Today the service industry is growing, and differentiated services for marketing and service quality is emerging as a serious problem. Until now, the WebCam is used for observation, and the negative aspects, such as from a human rights issue has become. Discipline and Punish is not to use a webcam to customer satisfaction research is needed. Therefore, wireless monitoring in WebCam service quality of the service reconfiguration and service quality factors for the configuration of the customer's preference regarding how research was recognized. Configuration of the service quality factors WebCam service customer satisfaction and customer loyalty was to identify factors that affect. These services to study the correlation between the quality variables WebCam provides wireless monitoring services for the preschool and children, a survey of the house. Configuring a wireless monitoring service quality in order to research the factors WebCam video quality and transmission speed, mobility and portability, convenience, visibility, reliability, and the interaction of the castle set. Severely and video quality and transmission speed, visibility, reliability, customer satisfaction, the interaction factors are said. Inclination to participate in social issues, innovation, digital devices that use a skilled, depending on the difference in the service quality has been confirmed. However, the age and quality of service awareness and job types showed a low correlation, and the marketing of these results will be discussed and how that can be used.

NGI(Next Generation Internet) is characterized by QoS(Quality of Service) and high speed transmission. Recently, DiffServ and MPLS become most influential NGI architecture. To guarantee end-to-end QoS, it is essential for NGI to interwork MPLS with DiffServ. Here, MPLS WG(Working Group) in IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) proposed the method of E-LSP(EXP inferred-PSC LSPs) and L-LSP(Label-Only-Inferred PSC LSPs), but both of them have serious problems to satisfy perfect interworking. In this paper, we proposed an extended E-LSP architecture that supports Perfect DiffServ class and experimental function in MPLS such as ECN(Explicit Congestion Notification) capability. We verify that the proposed E-LSP architecture improves QoS in NGI by using ns2 simulator.

The evolving internet-based services demand high-speed data transmission in conjunction with scalability. The next generation optical network has to exploit artificial intelligence and cognitive techniques to cope with the emerging requirements. This work proposes a novel way to solve the dynamic provisioning problem in optical network. The provisioning in optical network involves the computation of routes and the reservation of wavelenghs (Routing and Wavelength assignment-RWA). This is an extensively studied multi-objective optimization problem and its complexity is known to be NP-Complete. As the exact algorithms incurs more running time, the heuristic based approaches have been widely preferred to solve this problem. Recently the software-defined networking has impacted the way the optical pipes are configured and monitored. This work proposes the dynamic selection of path computation algorithms in response to the changing service requirements and network scenarios. A software-defined controller mechanism with a novel packet matching feature was proposed to dynamically match the traffic demands with the appropriate algorithm. A software-defined controller with Path Computation Element-PCE was created in the ONOS tool. A simulation study was performed with the case study of dynamic path establishment in ONOS-Open Network Operating System based software defined controller environment. A java based NOX controller was configured with a parent path computation element. The child path computation elements were configured with different path computation algorithms under the control of the parent path computation element. The use case of dynamic bulk path creation was considered. The algorithm selection method is compared with the existing single algorithm based method and the results are analyzed.
Recently, with the advance of computing and networking technique, the high speed internet becomes widespread, however, it is still hard job to do streaming the media which requires high network bandwidth over the internet. Previous researches for streaming over the internet mainly proposed techniques that controls the QoS(Quality of Service) of the media in proportion to the network status. Though, this could be the solution for the service provider while the service user who wants constant QoS may not satisfy with variable QoS. In the paper, we propose a network adaptive prefetching technique, NAP, for guarantee of constant QoS. The NAP prefetches frames by increasing the frame transmission rate while the available network bandwidth is high. The NAP uses the prefetched frames to guarantee the QoS while the available network bandwidth is low. The experiment result shows that the proposed NAP could guarantee the constant QoS by prefetching the frames adaptively to the network bandwidth with the characteristic of video stream.
