Design of Time-varying Stochastic Process with Dynamic Bayesian Networks

  • We present a dynamic Bayesian network (DBN) model of a generalized class of nonstationary birth-death processes. The model includes birth and death rate parameters that are randomly selected from a known discrete set of values. We present an on-line algorithm to obtain optimal estimates of the parameters. We provide a simulation of real-time characterization of load traffic estimation using our DBN approach.

  • In this paper, we have described the advantages of fixed mobile convergence access network based on FTTH. Also, we have investigated the possibility of mobile backhaul based on FTTH network combined TOM over IP emulation and adaptive clock recovery technologies, and verified successful transport of both E1 TDM traffic and Clock through the packet based PON network. within the allowable tolerance.

  • 기존의 인터넷 기반 데이터 서비스는 'Best-effort' 정책으로 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 트래픽 제어(traffic control) 기능을 제공하지 못한다. 그러므로 실시간 데이터 전송을 기반으로 제공되는 VOD(Video-on-Demand) 서비스는 사용자가 원하는 QoS(Quality of Service)를 제공할 수 없다. 따라서 인터넷 상에서 트래픽 제어 기능을 갖춘 중개자를 두어 VOD 서비스를 제공하는 방법에 대해 제안한다. 중개자의 주요 기능은 비디오 서버와 클라이언트 사이에 비디오 데이터의 버퍼링 기능을 이용하여 실시간 트래픽 제어를 수행한다. 이런 기능을 가진 중개자를 에이전트라 부르고, 에이전트에 대한 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술한다.

  • 무선 네트워크 환경에서는 제한된 네트워크의 대역폭과 모바일 호스트의 잦은 이동성으로 인하여 다양한 종류의 트래픽(Traffic)에 대한 Quality of Service(QoS)를 보장하는 것이 어렵다. 이러한 특징을 가지는 무선 네트워크 환경에서도 특정 종류의 트래픽(예를 들어 실시간 트래픽)에 대하여 요구된 범위내에서의 QoS가 반드시 보장되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이동성을 제공하는 무선 네트워크 환경에서 다양한 종류의 실시간 트래픽에 대해 QOS를 보장하는 어댑티브 레이트 얼로케이션 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 레이트 얼로케이션 알고리즘은 이동성에 따라 변화하는 네트워크 자원 환경을 고려하여 각 트래픽의 QoS를 최대한 보장하는 방향으로 레이트 (Rate)를 조절한다.

  • 상호연결망을 기반으로 하는 공유메모리 다중처리기의 성능은 공유메모리 접근 속도에 많은 영향을 받는다. 선인출 기법은 프로세서의 계산과 데이터의 접근을 중첩시켜 메모리의 접근 속도를 줄인다. 기존의 선인출 기법들은 캐쉬미스 양을 줄이는 것만을 생각하여 상호연결망의 상황을 고려하지 않은 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 응답이 늦은 선인출 이용하여 선인출 양을 조절함으로써 상호연결망의 경쟁을 줄이는 새로운 선인출 기법을 제안하고 프로그램 구동 모의실험을 통해 기존의 선인출 기법[1]에 비해 더 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 보인다.

  • A new scheduling algorithm called the Adaptive Weighted Round Robin with Delay Tolerance (AWRR/DT) is presented. The proposed scheme can reduce the average delay of non-real-time (NRT) class while maintaining the QoS of real-time (RT) classes. Our scheme can also reflect the traffic fluctuation of networks with a small processing burden.

  • We know the traffic information about the velocity and position of vehicle by extraction and tracking vehicle from continuosly obtained road image of camera. The conventional method of vehicle detection indicate increment of error due to headlight and taillight in night road image. This paper show such as vehicle detection of binary, Edge detection. amalgamation of image are applied to extract the vehicle, and Kalman filter is adaptive methods for tracking position and velocity of vehicle.

  • Image-based traffic information collection systems have entered widespread adoption and use in many countries since these systems are not only capable of replacing existing loop-based detectors which have limitations in management and administration, but are also capable of providing and managing a wide variety of traffic related information. In addition, these systems are expanding rapidly in terms of purpose and scope of use. Currently, the utilization of image processing technology in the field of traffic accident management is limited to installing surveillance cameras on locations where traffic accidents are expected to occur and digitalizing of recorded data. Accurately recording the sequence of situations around a traffic accident in a signal intersection and then objectively and clearly analyzing how such accident occurred is more urgent and important than anything else in resolving a traffic accident. Therefore, in this research, we intend to present a technology capable of overcoming problems in which advanced existing technologies exhibited limitations in handling real-time due to large data capacity such as object separation of vehicles and tracking, which pose difficulties due to environmental diversities and changes at a signal intersection with complex traffic situations, as pointed out by many past researches while presenting and implementing an active and environmentally adaptive methodology capable of effectively reducing false detection situations which frequently occur even with the Gaussian complex model analytical method which has been considered the best among well-known environmental obstacle reduction methods. To prove that the technology developed by this research has performance advantage over existing automatic traffic accident recording systems, a test was performed by entering image data from an actually operating crossroad online in real-time. The test results were compared with the performance of other existing technologies.

The Effects of Driver's Trust in Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Density on Workload and Situation Awareness (적응형 정속 주행 시스템에 대한 운전자 신뢰와 도로 혼잡도가 작업부하 및 상황인식에 미치는 효과)

  • Using driving simulation, this study investigated the effects of driver's trust in the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system and road density on driver's workload and situation awareness. The drivers were allocated into one of four experimental conditions manipulated by ACC system trust level (trust-increased vs. trust-decreased) and road congestion (high vs. low). The workload and situational awareness of the participants were measured as dependent variables. The results showed followings. First, trust-decreased group for the ACC system had significantly lower trust scores for the system in all of the measurement items, including reducing the driving load and securing safe driving due to the use of this system, than the trust-increased group. Second, the trust-decreased group showed a slower reaction time in the secondary tasks and higher subjective workload than trust-increased group. Third, in contrast, the situational awareness for the driving situation was significantly higher in the trust-decreased group than trust-increased group. The results of this study showed that the driver's trust in the ACC system can affect the various information processing performed while driving. Also, these results suggest that trust in the user's system should be considered as an important variable in the design of an automated driving assistance system.

An Aggregate Three Color Marker without Per Flow Management for End-to-End QoS Improvement of Assured Service in DiffServ (DiffServ 방식에서 플로별 관리 없이 Assured Service의 End-to-End QoS를 향상하기위한 Aggregate Three Color Marker)

  • In this paper, we propose an Aggregate Three Color Marker without per flow management which is required for an Edge router to improve End-to-End QoS of Assured Service in DiffServ. Proposed Aggregate Three Color Marker is used with the Adaptive RIO-DC scheme to achieve the minimum rate guarantee without per flow management. Assuming that the admission control for Assured Service has been performed, proposed Aggregate Three Color Marker measures incoming In-profile traffic rate at the output link of an edge router using a token-bucket with a token rate equal to the sum of contracted rates of admitted flows passing the edge router. If there are token losses from the token bucket, out-of-profile packets are promoted to Yellow packets within the aggregate traffic profile. And yellow packets are demoted to out-of-profile packets at the input link to an Edge router fer the purpose of fairness maintenance. In-profile packets and Yellow packets are processed identically at the RIO-DC buffer management scheme in our proposed method. Simulation results show that through using proposed Aggregate Three Color Marker with the Adaptive RIO-DC scheme, the minimum rate guarantee for Assured Service can be achieved without per flow management at multiple DiffServ domains.
