  • A set {a1, a2, …, am} of positive integers is called a Diophantine m-tuple if aiaj + 1 is a perfect square for all 1 ≤ i < j ≤ m. In this paper, we find the structure of a torsion group of elliptic curves Ek constructed by a Diophantine triple {F2k, F2k+2, 4F2k+1F2k+2F2k+3}, and find all integer points on the elliptic curve under assumption that rank(Ek(ℚ)) = 2.

  • Smooth picture module is operated by vibration to tilt the light from the DMD (digital micro mirror device) of DLP projection TV, which makes the screen of the TV smoother and DMD chip cost lower. To satisfy the vibration characteristics of smooth picture module, it is designed by optimizing moment of inertia, spring constant and damping coefficient, using structural and fluid dynamic simulation that showed a good agreement with experimental data. To reduce the material cost and moment of inertia, engineering plastic is used and the reliability is estimated. A VCM (voice coil motor) type actuator for smooth picture has to satisfy performance requirements such as higher driving force, lower power consumption, and lower cost. The initial design and optimization for VCM was performed using FE analysis. It allowed us to optimize the design of magnetic circuit of the proposed actuator to obtain higher force while maintaining a lower cost.

  • In this article, we will examine the Diophantine equation $ax^6+by^3+cz^2=0$, for arbitrary rational integers a, b, and c in Gaussian integers and find all the solutions of this equation for many different values of a, b, and c. Moreover, two equations of the type $x^6{\pm}iy^3+z^2=0$, and $x^6+y^3{\pm}wz^2=0$ are also discussed, where i is the imaginary unit and w is a third root of unity.

  • The conformation and activity of the four benzenesulfonyl analogues of 4-aminobenzene-sulfonamide, 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid, 4-methylbenzenesulfonamide, and 4-methylbenzenesulfonic acid with antibacterial activity on Staphylococcus aureus were studied using an empirical potential function (ECEPP/2) and the hydration shell model. The conformational energies were minimized from the starting conformations which included possible combinations of torsion angles in each molecule. To understand the hydration effect on the conformation of the molecule in aqueous solution, the hydration free energy of each group was calculated and compared each other. The conformational entropies of low-free-energy coformation of benzenesulfonly analogues were computed by a harmonic approximation. From the correlation of lowest-free-energy conformation of each compound and its antibacterial activity, it was found that the hydration of sulfonyl groups and the substituents are the decisive factors to show antibacterial activities.

  • Within the framework of anisotropic combined viscoplastic hardening formulation, accounting macroscopically for residual stress as well as texture development at finite deformations of metals, simple shear analyses for the simulation of fixed-end torsion experiments for ${\alpha}$-Fe, Al and Cu at different strain rates are reviewed with an emphasis on the role of constitutive spins. Complicated responses of the axial stresses with monotonically increasing shear deformations can be successfully described by the capacity of orthotropic hardening part, featuring tensile axial stresses either smooth or oscillatory. Temperature effect on the responses of axial stresses for Cu is investigated in relation to the distortion and orientation of yield surface. The flexibility of this combined hardening model in the simulation of finite inelastic strains is discussed with reference to the variations of constitutive spins depending upon strain rates and temperatures.

  • A Diophantine m-tuple is a set {a1, a2, …, am} of positive integers such that aiaj+1 is a perfect square for all 1 ≤ i < j ≤ m. Let Ek be the elliptic curve induced by Diophantine triple {F2k, 5F2k+2, 3F2k + 7F2k+2}. In this paper, we find the structure of a torsion group of Ek, and find all integer points on Ek under assumption that rank(Ek(ℚ)) = 1 and some further conditions.

  • Purpose : This study is carried out to investigate the effect of asymmetric exercises on soccer players' vertebral abnormality and weight bearing. Methods : A total of 40 soccer players were divided into either a group of 20 players who use a unilateral foot or a group of 20 players who use both feet. 3-dimensional spine structure analyzer was used to analyze body inclination, pelvic inclination, pelvic torsion, turning of spinal segment, spinal curvature, thoracic kyphosis curvature, lumbar lordosis curvature, left/right weight distribution, and front/back weight distribution. Results : The result of the two groups showed that there were significant differences (p<0.05) for every item except turning of spinal segment and lumbar lordosis curvature. Conclusion : From this result, we can find that spinal and pelvic deformity and body weight are unilaterally supported for soccer players with asymmetric exercises.

  • A study was planned to see if the ginseng has any influence upon the weight of viscera of male and female rats. One hundred and ten male rats (body weight: $35{\sim}40\;gm$ at the beginning of the experiment) and an equal number of females with similar body weight were use4 Excluding 10 male and 10 females which served as controls, these rats were divided equally into 4 groups (male ginseng group, male saline group, female ginseng group and female saline group), each of which comprising 50 animals. For 45 days, the male and female ginseng groups received every day 0.6 m1/100 gm body weight of ginseng extract solution (4 mg of ginseng alcohol extract in 1 ml of saline) subcutaneously, and the male and female saline groups received the same amount of physiological saline. Each group was further divided into 5 subgroups comprising 10 animals, and the 10 control rats and each subgroups were sacrificed immediately before, and 5, 15, 35, 35, and 45 days after beginning of the drug administration, respectively. The body weight of each subgroup was checked immediately before sacrificing it, and the heart, lung, liver, kidney, adrenal gland, spleen, and testis or uterus of each animal were weighed with a torsion balance. Following results were obtained: 1. Ginseng significantly facilitated gain in weight of testis and spleen as well as body weight of rats from 35th day after beginning of the drug administration on, but not before this time. 2. Ginseng did not exert significant influence upon the weight of heart, lung, liver, tidney, adrenal gland, and uterus of the rat.

  • The goals of root canal instrumentation are complete debridement of pulp tissue, removal of microbes and affected dentin, and proper cleaning and shaping of the root canal space before obturation. Instrumentation with stainless steel files has been shown to produce undesirable results in canals, regardless of the improved technique or modified file type used. Nickel-Titanium(Ni-Ti) alloy has been shown to be exceptionally elastic, having a lower bending moment and lower permanent set after torsion, compared with similar gauge stainless steel. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the change of root canal prepared by Ni-Ti rotary and stainless steel instruments. Thirty-four single rooted teeth of similar shape and canal size were divided into three groups. The teeth were scanned by computed tomography before instrumentation. In group 1, canals were instrumented using a step-back technique with K-file. In group 2, canals were prepared with K-flex file using the same technique as group 1. Group 3 was prepared with nickel-titanium(Ni-Ti) rotary instrument using a manufacture's instruction. Instrumented teeth were again scanned using computed tomography, and reformated images of the uninstrumented canals were compared with images of the instrumented canals. K-flex file and Ni-Ti file caused significantly less canal transportation than K-file in the 8mm root canal section from the apex(p<0.05). K-flex file and Ni-Ti file produced more centered canal preparation than K-file in the 2mm section(p<0.05). Ni-Ti file maintained more precisely the center of the canal than K-flex file in the 10mm section (p<0.05). There was no difference in the removed volume of canals among each groups.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze differences in kinematic variables for mogul short turn motion between superior and inferior group, so that it can explore more effective mogul short turn motions. To meet the goals, this study selected total 10 ski players who would participate in mogul short turn event of the National Technical Ski Championship 2007, so that it could analyze kinematic variables by way of 3D motion analysis using DLT method. As a result, this study came to the following conclusions; For total and phase-specific duration, it was found that superior group took shorter time than inferior group. Superior group's Center of Mass was stands for more high value in up-down movement skill than inferior group. However right-left movement scale was less than them. In this reason, superior group was made a straight descent at the same time made a fast front-rear velocity. In the part of up-down movement velocity show that move slowly in the drop-in phase while increased in the bump-up phase. It is show that superior group was less tinny than inferior group include joint angle and knee joint angle. However leaning angle of trunk and the body inclination angle were more high figured than inferior group. Leaning angle of lower limbs also showed high figure at the center mogul. Lastly, In the part of body torsion angle show that superior group was high figure direction of right turn in the drop-in phase while in bump-up phase, made a high figure direction of left turn.
