체스판무늬 검색 알고리즘과 가상하중을 이용한 위상 최적설계 (Topology Optimum Design Using Chessboard Patterns Search Algorithm and Virtual Load)

  • 본 연구에서는 구조물의 변위 제약조건을 고려한 위상 최적설계를 체스판무늬 검색 알고리즘과 가상하중을 이용하여 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 변위 제약조건의 민감도 계산을 위하여 가상 변위장을 도입하였으며, 밀도와 유효강성계수의 상관관계를 정의하기 위하여 가상재료를 도입하였다. 또한, 선형 유한요소를 이용한 위상 최적화 기법에서 일반적으로 나타나는 체스판무늬를 제거하기 위하여 밀도 재분배방법을 이용하였다. 그리고, 변위 제약조건을 고려한 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우의 수치예제를 비교 검토함으로써 본 연구의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Topology Optimization of a HDD Actuator Arm

  • A study on the topology optimization of a Hard-Disk-Driver(HDD) actuator arm is presented. The purpose of the present wert is to increase the natural frequency of tole first lateral mode of the HDD actuator arm under the constraint of total moment of inertia, so as to facilitate the position control of the high speed actuator arm. The first lateral mode is an important factor in the position control process. Thus the topology optimization for 2-D model of the HDD actuator arm is considered. A new objective function corresponding to multieigenvalue optimization is suggested to improve the solution of the eigenvalue optimization problem. The material density of the structure is treated as the design variable and the intermediate density is penalized. The effects of different element types and material property functions on the final topology are studied. When the problem is discretized using 8-node element of a uniform density, tole smoothly-varying density field is obtained without checker-board patterns incurred. AS a result of 7he study, an improved design of the HDD actuator arm is suggested. Dynamic characteristics of the suggested design are compared computationally with those of the old design. With the same amount of the moment of inertia, the natural frequency of the first lateral mode of the suggested design is subsequently increased over the existing one.

  • Recently, Switching devices become cheaper, depending on the multi-level inverters are considered as the power-conversion systems for high-power and power-quality demanding applications. The multi-level inverters can reduce the THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) as the output which is similar sinusoidal waveform by synthesizing several capacitor DC voltages. However it has some disadvantages such as increased number of components, complex PWM control method. Therefore, this paper is proposed the new multi-level inverter topology using an new H-bridge output stage with a bidirectional auxiliary switch. The proposed topology is the 4-level 3-phase PWM inverter with less switching part than conventional multi-level inverters and reactive power control possible. In order to understand the new multi-level inverter, topology analysis and switching patterns and modes according to the current loop are described in this paper. The proposed multi-level inverter topology is validated through PSIM simulation and the experimental results are provided from a prototype.

최적화기법에 의한 나뭇잎 그물맥 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Woody Leaf Netted Venation Based on Optimization Technique)

  • 본 연구에서는 나뭇잎 그물맥 구조를 시뮬레이션하기 위해 잎 그물맥을 상 하 보강 박막판과 비압축성 유체가 흐르는 중간층 구조로 모델링하여 다중물리 현상으로 간주하고, 위상 최적화법을 다중물리 설계영역에 적용하였다. Mindlin-Reissner 판 모델에 기인한 횡방향 전단잠금 문제를 해결하기 위해 P1 비적합 요소와 선택 감소 적분법을 이용하였다. 다시-스토크스 유체 유동 채널에 대해 최적설계법을 적용하여 유동 시스템의 다중물리 모델을 해석하였으며, 잎의 그물맥 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 계산된 최적형상을 잎의 자연 그물 맥 패턴과 비교하였으며 비슷한 형상을 얻었다. 이와 같은 학제간 연구를 통해 나무 잎 그물맥 시스템을 이해할 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 사료된다.

  • This paper deals with the three phase high voltage power-grid connection topology using multi-level inverter. Due to the multi-level inverter, these are improved effect of fluctuating voltage, problem of EMC and switching loss using suitable switching patterns of device, above all thing, it is easy to realize the system because of using lower voltage rating switch. This topology can be applicable to power-grid connection of wind system, there is a good point about economical efficiency. The simulation results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed topology.

트랜섬 선미 후방의 점성 유동장 Topology 관찰 (Topological View of Viscous Flow behind Transom Stern)

  • Viscous flows behind transom stern are analyzed based on CFD simulation results. Stern wave pattern is often complicated due to the abrupt change of stern surface curvature and flow separation at transom. When a ship advances at high speed, whole transom stern is exposed out of water, resulting in the so-called 'dry transom'. However, in the moderate speed regime, stern wave development in conjunction of flow separation makes unstable wavy surface partially covering transom surface, i.e., the so-called 'wetted transom'. Transom wave formation is usually affecting the resistance characteristics of a ship, since the pressure contribution on transom surface as well as the wave-making resistance is changed. Flow modeling for 'wetted transom' is difficult, while the 'dry transom modeling' is often applied for the high-speed vessels. In the present study CFD results from the RANS equation solver using a finite volume method with level-set treatment are utilized to assess the topology of transom flow pattern for a destroyer model (DTMB5415) and a container ship (KCS). It is found that transom flow patterns are quite different for the two ships, in conformity to the shape of submerged transom. Furthermore, the existence of free surface seems to after the flow topology in case of KCS.

MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION OF THE INNER REINFORCEMENT FOR A VEHICLE'S HOOD CONSIDERING STATIC STIFFNESS AND NATURAL FREQUENCY

  • A multi-objective optimization technique was implemented to obtain optimal topologies of the inner reinforcement for a vehicle's hood simultaneously considering the static stiffness of bending and torsion and natural frequency. In addition, a smoothing scheme was used to suppress the checkerboard patterns in the ESO method. Two models with different curvature were chosen in order to investigate the effect of curvature on the static stiffness and natural frequency of the inner reinforcement. A scale factor was employed to properly reflect the effect of each objective function. From several combinations of weighting factors, a Pareto-optimal topology solution was obtained. As the weighting factor for the elastic strain efficiency went from 1 to 0, the optimal topologies transmitted from the optimal topology of a static stiffness problem to that of a natural frequency problem. It was also found that the higher curvature model had a larger static stiffness and natural frequency than the lower curvature model. From the results, it is concluded that the ESO method with a smoothing scheme was effectively applied to topology optimization of the inner reinforcement of a vehicle's hood.

  • 본 논문에서는 광 인터넷 망의 가상망 재구성을 위하여 최적의 망 재구성 정책을 고려한 보상-비용 함수를 최대화하는 다단계 결정 문제로 정의 하였다. 그리고 트래픽 요구사항을 만족하기 위해서 노드 교환 기법에 근거한 새로운 휴리스틱 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한 트래픽 예측 기법을 사용하여 휴리스틱 알고리즘에 의해 발생하는 근사 문제를 해결 하고, 이를 바탕으로 트래픽 예측 다단계 재구성 정책을 제안하였다. 실험결과 다단계 재구성 정책은 물리적 자원이 제한된 환경에서 기존의 방법에 비해 뛰어난 성능을 보였다.

Energy-efficient Custom Topology Generation for Link-failure-aware Network-on-chip in Voltage-frequency Island Regime

  • The voltage-frequency island (VFI) design paradigm has strong potential for achieving high energy efficiency in communication centric manycore system-on-chip (SoC) design called network-on-chip (NoC). However, because of the diminished scaling of wire-dimension and supply voltage as well as threshold voltage in modern CMOS technology, the vulnerability to link failure in VFI NoC is becoming a crucial challenge. In this paper, we propose an energy-optimized topology generation technique for VFI NoC to cope with permanent link failures. Based on the energy consumption model, we exploit the on-chip communication traffic patterns and characteristics of link failures in the early design stage to accommodate diverse applications and architectures. Experimental results using a number of multimedia application benchmarks show the effectiveness of the proposed three-step custom topology generation method in terms of energy consumption and latency without any degradation in the fault coverage metric.
