A Pilot Study on the Control Performance of Foot-Controlled Mouse Devices for the Nondisabled People

  • Objective: In this study, two types of foot-controlled mouse devices are compared with a hand mouse in the input tasks requiring repetitively switching between a keyboard and a mouse. Background: Foot-controlled mouse devices have been developed for persons with impairments in the mobility of their hands. However, some researchers insisted that the foot-controlled mouse devices could be effectively used by the persons with no limits to their hand mobility. There are needs to investigate the efficiency of the foot-controlled mouse devices, when they are used by the nondisabled people. Method: Participants conducted the input tasks, requiring repetitive switches between a keyboard and a computer mouse. The used computer mouse devices were two types of foot-controlled mouse and a typical hand mouse. Participants performed three types of input task for five days and three types of task performance were measured; the number of completed input tasks within a given practice time, subjective satisfaction level and the time wasted for the mouse control. Results: For five days, the performance of input tasks sharply increased in input tasks by foot-controlled mouse devices rather than a hand mouse. After five days, the level of satisfaction on the foot-controlled mouse devices approached to about 76% of a hand mouse satisfaction level. The control time of the foot-controlled mouse devices also approached to about 109% of a hand mouse control time. Conclusion: After only five-day practice, the input task performance by foot-controlled mouse devices approached to that of a hand mouse. This result may suggest that the foot-controlled mouse devices can be effectively used as an alternative input device for the nondisabled people, if input tasks are easy and enough practice time is provided. Application: The results of this study might help to design foot-controlled mouse devices and to expend the usage of them.

  • This paper is to discover selection indicator for academia-industrial cooperation R&D project. Existing Project lacks careful consideration for participant enterprise. But, This project must be focused on enterprise for the goal of project is to improve business competition. Therefore, we analyze the survey result of enterprise satisfaction and deduct the factor of satisfaction by statistical analysis like One-way ANOVA and Regression. The study says that collaboration time, the time of planning of commercialization, technology transfer and the level of goal achievement improve enterprise satisfaction. And it implies needs for plan of manpower input and commercialization at the selecting phase. This paper is significant that it can improve project system by satisfaction. We expect that this result is utilized by planning and management.

A Study on the Effects of Empowerment Perception Level on Job Satisfaction of Hairdresser (헤어 미용사들의 지각된 임파워먼트가 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to determine differences between the perceived empowerment level and job satisfaction depending on hairdressers' demographic characteristics and analyze the effects of their empowerment on job satisfaction. For this, a total of 310 hairdressers in Gwangju-Jeonnam and Seoul-Gyeonggi-do were chosen through convenience sampling, and then a questionnaire survey was conducted. The valid 277 copies were used for final analysis. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 15.0. The study results found the following: First, in terms of the subordinate factors of empowerment, the following four factors were found: meaningfulness, self-determination, competence, and impact. Second, depending on demographic characteristics (e.g., age, career, type of beauty salon, job title, punch-in time, monthly pay), a statistically significant difference was found between empowerment and job satisfaction (p<.01). Third, hairdressers' perceived empowerment level had a positive impact on job satisfaction (p<.01). In terms of the empowerment on job satisfaction by sub-factor, 'self-determination' was largest, followed by 'meaningfulness' and 'competence.' Therefore, beauty salon owners need to manage their business more efficiently by converging cosmetology and business management by expanding empowerment among hairdressers properly after recognizing the importance of hairdresser empowerment.

A Study on Comparison between Korean.Chinese Consumers In the Relationship between Domestic Open Market Brand personality, Customer Satisfaction and Brand Loyalty (국내 오픈마켓 브랜드개성과 고객만족, 애호도와의 관계에서 한.중 소비자간 비교에 관한 연구)

  • At this point in time when the percentage of foreign consumers as well as domestic consumers are being increased in domestic open market users due to the recent interest and promotion on the open market, the purposes of this study are as follows. First, the relationship between open market brand personality, satisfaction and brand loyalty will be clarified targeting all Korean consumers and Chinese consumers using domestic open market. Second, whether there is difference in the effect of domestic open market brand personality on customer satisfaction and brand loyalty between Korean consumers and Chinese consumers will be compared. The results are as follows. First, as a result of testing the study hypothesis targeting the open market users, in other words targeting all Korean consumers and Chinese consumers, only the ability among brand personality dimensions did not have positive effect on the satisfaction toward open market. Other than that, it could be confirmed that the reliability, sincerity and familiarity, etc are important influence factors in forming satisfaction toward open market. Next, as a result of testing whether there is difference in the effect of domestic open market brand personality on customer satisfaction and brand loyalty between Korean consumers and Chinese consumers, it was shown as having difference. In other words, the Korean consumers were shown as not having positive significant effect in the relationship between the ability among brand personality and satisfaction toward open market while all other brand personality dimensions were shown as having positive effect on the satisfaction toward open market. It could be found that if the satisfaction toward open market is high, the brand loyalty toward open market also gets high.

Musical Prior Knowledge, Audience Satisfaction and Word-of-Mouth: A Moderated-Mediation Analysis (뮤지컬 관람객의 사전지식이 관람만족 및 구전의향에 미치는 영향 - 트랜스포테이션의 조절된 매개효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The development of digital technology has made consumers more knowledgeable about products than ever before. In this regard, experts have defined consumers in the digital age as knowledge seekers and pointed out that they are proficient in acquiring and sharing product knowledge prior to purchase. For service goods such as musicals, product prior knowledge executes strong effect due to such characteristics as intangibility, inseparabilit y,and heterogeneity. Prior studies in the field of performing arts, including musicals, have revealed that the prior knowledge of the audience has a positive effect on the satisfaction of the audience and WOM(word-of-mouth) intention. However, studies in the marketing field argue that consumers' high prior knowledge may have a negative impact on customer satisfaction and product evaluation depending on conditions, as they are more likely to compare, review, and expect products more closely. Therefore, in this study, we tried to identify under what conditions the musical prior knowledge enhances audience satisfaction and WOM intention. According to the results of previous studies, a mediating effect model was established in which the musical prior knowledge enhances the WOM intention through the mediation of the audience satisfaction. Then, Transportation was introduced as a mediation variable and it was verified whether the level changed the audience satisfaction and WOM intention. The reason for the introduction of the transportation construct reflects the results of previous research that the story is important component of musical. The results showed that the musical prior knowledge has a significant effect on WOM intention through the mediation of audience satisfaction. The moderating effect of transport was also significant on the relationship between musical prior knowledge and audience satisfaction. Lastly, through moderated-mediation analysis, it was confirmed that transportation moderates the mediating effect that prior knowledge affects on the WOM intention through audience satisfaction. Based on the results, we demonstrated that a musical story is fairly important to satisfy audiences with high prior knowledge. This study could contribute to the related filed in that it introduced the transportation construct for the first time, thereby broadening the understanding of the musical audiences in the era of smart consumers.

Structural Model Analysis of Changes in Women's Quality of Life and Life Satisfaction by Body Shape Management

  • The purpose of this study is to conduct body shape management on women for a certain period of time to determine the structural relationship between the latent variables of life habits, social support, and life satisfaction and the impact on the quality of life. Body shape management was performed with chiropractic adjustments and myofascial relaxation therapy, and a physical therapist with 25 years of experience was used as an expert. The subject of the study was a sample of women in their 20s to 60s residing in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and women who participated in body shape management procedures more than 20 times for the study were asked to fill out a questionnaire using a self-evaluation writing method. The final analysis target was 100 people who made it reasonable to analyze the data. As a result of the study, it was found that the quality of life of women related to health can vary depending on the presence and degree of body shape management. In addition, the degree of life satisfaction varies according to the level of lifestyle and social support, and the direct, indirect, and total effects of the latent variables related to the quality of life were all significant. In this study, the usual body shape management that can improve the quality of life of women gives meaning to the opportunity for women to have desirable lifestyle and to give them a recognition that values quality of life.

An Empirical Study on the ISO 9000 Follow-up Management Practices of Korean Small Enterprises (ISO 인증 중소기업의 사후관리에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • The ISO 9000 Follow-up Management Practices (FMP) as an integrated area including training, QM systems, management commitment, customer focus, communication and related issues are examined. A sample of 191 small and medium-sized firms data from mail survey is analyzed by the SPSSWIN. A model of FMP including three factors (Systems, Training, and Customer Focus) is introduced. In this paper, a focus is laid on the comparison between ISO 9000:1994 vs. ISO 9000:2000 or 05 9000 certificates and between groups classified by the time length after certification, and on regression relationships between FMP level and business performance. The result shows that the difference of FMP level is significant between two versions and between groups. Quality level and system satisfaction are influenced significantly by the three factors.

The Effects of Preoperative PCA Education with Multimedia and Brochure on Pain Management in Surgical Patients (수술환자를 위한 동영상과 소책자를 활용한 자가통증조절장치 교육의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of preoperative PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia) education on pain, patient attitude, and patient satisfaction in surgical patients. Methods: The study was a quasi-experimental research design. The participants were 54 patients who were admitted for surgery at I hospital in G city, Korea. Of the 54 patients, 26 were assigned to the experimental group and the rest to the control group. The PCA education was provided in the nurses' station, individually to patients in the experimental group the day before their operation. Multimedia and brochure, and a real PCA model were used. The control group received only verbal education about PCA. Results: The postoperative pain scores were significantly different for lapse of time in the experimental group compare to the control group. Patient attitude toward using pain medicine was significantly more positive in the experimental group than in the control group. The postoperative patient satisfaction with pain management was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that preoperative PCA education could be an effective nursing intervention for pain management of surgical patients.

  • Objectives: The study recognizes the seriousness of depression in youth with atopic dermatitis, and tries to identify factors that affect depression. Methods: Data were obtained from the 2014 Korean Youth Health Behavior Risk Behavior On-line Survey. In this study, 17,232 people who were Atopic dermatitis without missing variables were included in the final analysis. It conducted frequency, chi-square and logistic regression analysis by SPSS 20.0. Results: An analysis of factors affecting depression showed that subjective health level, subjective happiness satisfaction, subjective sleep satisfaction, subjective stress level, smoking, and drinking had an effect. Conclusions: The factors affecting youth depression with atopic dermatitis revealed health status, life behavior. These results are thought to require attention and research on youth with atopic dermatitis, along with the development of practical treatment programs and systematic management by applying them to teenagers in an appropriate time and method.

The Relationship Between Flexible Work Arrangements and Work-Life Balance - With a Focus on Working From Home During the COVID-19 Pandemic (유연근무제와 근로자의 일·생활균형 - 코로나19 이후 재택근로 확산의 영향을 중심으로)

  • This study examines the relationship between flexible work and workers' work-life balance using data from the 23rd Korean Labor and Income Panel Study, with a focus on the impact of working from home (WFH) during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the analysis, WFH was found to have a positive effect on the happiness of workers, satisfaction with family relationships, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction related to job security for women. In addition, we looked at the changes in time use of WFH workers and non-WFH workers before and after COVID-19, with a particular focus on aspects such as time spent sleeping and on self-development, childcare, housework, exercise, and social gatherings. Compared to non-WFH workers, WFH workers increased the time spent on housework and childcare after COVID-19, with this trend more pronounced among women. The results of this study suggest that the effect of utilizing WFH may be halved for workers who have to take care of children and work at the same time, and that this effect may be greater for women. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen social support measures so that WFH workers who face a work-life conflict due to childcare can maintain work productivity and realize a work-life balance, and to ensure that the flexible work arrangement should not be a medium that reinforces traditional gender roles. Active policy efforts will be required to make sure this happens.
