This study to embody automatic recognition of VIN(Vehicle Identification Number)character by computer vision system. Automatic recognition characters methods consist of the thining processing and the recognition of each character. VIN character and background classified using counting method of the size of connected pixels. Thining processing applied to segmentation of connected fundamental phonemes by Hilditch's algorithm. Each VIN character contours tracing algorithm used the Freeman's direction tracing algorithm.

물리탐사분야에서 탄성파 기술의 최종 목적은 지하매질의 공간적 특성을 규명하는데 있으며 이를 위해 전문해석가들은 영상화된 탄성파 자료로부터 이벤트들의 연속성을 검토하여 불연속적인 면을 해석하게 된다 본 논문에서는 지하구조 해석에 사용되는 3차원 탄성파 이미지로부터 불연속면을 자동으로 추출하는 기법을 소개하고 있다. 본 논문에서 소개된 방법은 세 단계를 통해 수행된다. 첫번째 단계는 3차원 자료로부터 이벤트의 연속성을 coherency cube형태로 계산하는 과정이며, 두번째 단계는 이러한 coherency cube 로부터 불면속면의 존재 가능성이 높은 지역을 3차원적인 형상의 이진영상(binary image)으로 표현하는 과정이다. 세번째 단계는 앞에서 얻어진 이진영상으로부터 불연속면의 위치 및 연장성에 대한 정보를 찾는 단계로서 앞에서 얻어진 이진 영상을 세선화 과정을 통해 3차원 평면형태의 불연속면을 결과물로 얻게된다.

본 논문에서는, 지문인식에 있어서 특징 추출알고리즘과 추출된 특징을 가지고, matching하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 지문인식에 필요한 특징추출 알고리즘들은 Gabor-filter라는 알고리즘에 기반을 두었으며, minutiae 와는 달리 특징추출에 있어서 전처리과정(smoothing, binarization, thining, restoration) 을 필요로 하지않는다. 또한, 지문의 matching에 있어서의 알고리즘은 fingercode들 간의 유사성에 기반을 두었다. 이를 통한 실 험결과로써, 인식의 정확성은 95.7(%), FAR(2.9%), FRR(1.4%)을 보여주었다.

This study performed a series of burst tests at ambient temperature using real-scale elbow specimen containing a local wall-thinning defect at it's intrados or extrados and evaluated failure pressure of locally wall-thinned elbows. In the experiment, a 90-degree 100A, Sch. 80 standard elbow was employed, and various wall-thinning geometries, such as length, depth, and circumferential angle, were considered. From the results of experiment, the dependences of failure pressure of wall-thinned elbows on the defect geometries and locations were investigated. In addition, the reliability of existing models was examined by comparing the tests data with the results predicted from existing failure pressure evaluation models for locally wall-thinned elbow.

Suppose that a stationary process ${X_t}$ has a marginal distribution whose support consists of sufficiently large integers. We are concerned with some analogous law of large numbers for such distribution function F. In particular, we determine a weak law of large numbers for maximum queueing length in $M/M\infty$ system. We also present a limiting behavior for the maxima based on AR(1) process with binomial thining and poisson marginals (INAR(1)) introduced by E. Mckenzie. It turns out that the result of AR(1) process is the same as that of $M/M/\infty$ queueing process in limit when we observe the queues at regularly spaced intervals of time.

The present work presents plastic limit load solutions for piping branch junctions with local wall-thinning, based on detailed three-dimensional (3-D) and small strain FE limit analyses using elastic-perfectly plastic materials. Three types of loading are considered; internal pressure, in-plane bending on the branch pipe and in-plane bending on the run pipe. The wall-tinning located on variable area of the piping branch junction is considered. A wide range of piping branch junction and wall-thinning geometries are considered. Comparison of the proposed solutions with FE results shows good agreement

Recently, image and voice processing part is using wavelet transform. We propose thining algorithm using wavelet tranform. Wavelet transform consists of low frequency and high frequency in the spatial and frequency domain. After the wavelet decomposition, more than 90 percents of energy are contained in lowest frequency band. Therefor, for images with large difference of gray value between foreground and background like character images, we can more accurately in the lowest frequency band. Lowest frequency band has wavelet transform significant coefficient(WTS) that is required for the thinning algorithm we proposed Paper [3][5][7][8] can not separate consonants and vowels of korean characters. Becuase korean characters have structural feature. This paper can separate consonants and vowels. Simulation executed low frequency image and data compression can reduce 1/4$^{n}$ with level n. we can redcue time complexity 3/8.

본 논문에서는 지도영상의 도로정보를 자동으로 추출할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 복잡한 지도영상에서 도로영상만을 추출한다. 추출된 영상은 세선화 방법에 의해 도로의 골격만으로 이루어진 영상으로 변환된다. 세선화된 영상은 여러 종류의 문제점을 포함한다. 이러한 문제점을 보정하기 위해 도로의 특성을 나타내는 Rutovitz 연결수에 의해 분류된 후 도로특성에 따라 개별적인 보정이 이루어진다. 여러 가지 지도영상에 대한 실험결과를 통해 제안한 방법의 유효성을 입증하였다.

The analysis had been already completed to detect forming defects for the forming processes of C/R bearing rings. But some unpredicted problems were found through the experiments. So expert redesigned new forming processes to prevent the problems and new analysis was began according to the new processes to find faults for the processes. The forming processes consist of 1 for the outer ring. 6 inner ring. The thickness of metal sheet used is changed to 1.5mm from 1.6mm. Elasto-plastric finite element method is applied to involve the effect of spring back . The most representative alteration is forming of two predents to assist later forming . Thining and distribution of high residual stress are derived from the results of simulations. It is confirmed that the industry expert agree the possiblilty of defects dervied from the new FEM results.
