Optimal Threonine:Lysine Ratio for Growing Pigs of Different Sexes

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of threonine:lysine ratios on growth performance, apparent nutrient digestibility and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration, and to estimate the optimal threonine:lysine ratios for growing barrows and gilts. A total of 150 pigs (Landrace${\times}$Yorkshire${\times}$Duroc, $16.75{\pm}0.42kg$ average body weight, 75 barrows and 75 gilts) was randomly allotted into six treatments in a $2{\times}3$ factorial design. Six diets were formulated to contain 1.12% lysine for barrows and 1.33% lysine for gilts with three threonine:lysine ratios (50, 60 and 70%) for both barrows and gilts. Throughout the whole experimental period (16 to 56 kg body weight), there was no interaction between sex and dietary threonine:lysine ratio in average daily gain (ADG), average daily feed intake (ADFI) and feed conversion rate (FCR). Between sexes, there was a clear sex-effect showing better growth performance of barrows. Barrows consumed more feed (p<0.01) and grew faster (p<0.01) than gilts. For barrows, there was a trend to improved ADG and FCR with increasing threonine:lysine ratio. For gilts, there was a trend to improved ADG and FCR up to threonine:lysine ratio of 60%, but not significant. There was no interaction between sex and threonine:lysine ratio in nutrient digestibilities of growing pigs except for crude ash (CA). Between sexes, there were differences in nutrient digestibilities, except for calcium for which gilts showed higher a digestibility (p<0.01). Among dietary threonine:lysine ratios, there were no differences in nutrient digestibilities. Mean values of essential amino acids (EAA), non-essential amino acids (NEAA) and total amino acids (TAA) digestibilities were not affected by sex and dietary threonine:lysine ratio. There was no evidence of an interaction between sexes and dietary threonine:lysine ratio. Between sexes, total BUN concentration was lower in gilts than barrows (p<0.05). It was concluded that a 70 and 60% dietary threonine:lysine ratio for barrows (1.12% lysine) and gilts (1.33% lysine) tended to result in better growth performances and nutrient utilization and lower BUN concentration than other threonine:lysine ratios.

  • 이 연구는 전신 전기근자극 훈련이 비만 수준에 따른 여성의 신체조성 및 심박변이도에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 폐경 전 여성으로 BMI<25는 BMI-N(n=15), BMI=25~29.9는 BMI-1(n=16), BMI>30은 BMI-2(n=9) 집단으로 분류한 후, 12주간 주당 3회의 전신 전기근자극 훈련을 실시하였다. 실험처치 전·후 신체조성과 심박변이도를 측정하여 반복 이원 변량분석과 대응 표본 t-검정을 실시하였고, 사후검증은 Tukey의 방법을 사용하였다. 유의수준(α)은 0.5로 설정, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, Weight, BMI, FFM, FM은 BMI-2 집단이 가장 많이 감소하였고, BMI-1, BMI-N 집단 순으로 감소하였다. %BF와 VF는 BMI-2 집단이 가장 많이 감소하였다. 둘째, BPM은 모든 집단에서 차이가 나타났으며, BMI-2 집단이 가장 크게 감소하였다. SDNN과 RMSSD는 각 집단에서 차이가 나타났으며, 비만 수준에 따른 차이는 없었다. LF, HF 및 LF/HF 비율은 차이가 없었다. 결론적으로, 전신 전기근자극 훈련은 비만수준이 높은 여성들의 체구성 변화와 심장 순환계에 긍정적 효과를 미치는 운동요법이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Radiopharmaceutical agents for positron emission tomography (PET), such as $^{18}F$-FDG and $^{68}Ga$, have been used not only for whole-body PET imaging but also for intraoperative radionuclide-guided surgery due to their quantitative and sensitive imaging characteristics. Current intraoperative probes detect gamma or beta particles, but not both of them. Gamma probes have low sensitivities since a collimator has to be used to reduce backgrounds. Positron probes have a high tumor-to-background ratio, but they have a 1-2 mm depth limitation from the body surface. Most of current intraoperative probes produce only audible sounds proportional to count rates without providing tumor images. This research aims to detect both positrons and annihilation photons from $^{18}F$ using plastic scintillators and a GAGG scintillation crystal attached to silicon photomultiplier (SiPM). The depth-of-interaction (DOI) along the plastic scintillator can be used to obtain the 2-D images of tumors near the body surface. The front and rear part of the intraoperative probe consists of $4{\times}1$ plastic scintillators ($2.9{\times}2.0{\times}12.0mm^3$) for positron detection and a Ce:GAGG scintillation crystal ($12.0{\times}12.0{\times}9.0mm^3$) for annihilation photon detection, respectively. The DOI resolution of $4.4{\pm}1.6mm$ along the plastic scintillator was obtained by using the 3M enhanced specular reflector (ESR) with rectangular holes between the plastic scintillators, which showed the feasibility of a 2-D image pixel size of $2.9{\times}4.4mm^2$ (X-direction ${\times}$ Y-direction).

인장계류식 해양구조물의 동적응답해석(II) (A dynamic response Analysis of Tension Leg Platforms in Waves (II))

  • A numerical procedure is described for predicting the motion and structural responses of tension leg platforms(TLPs) in waves. The developed numerical approach is based on a combination of a three dimensional source distribution method and the dynamic response analysis method, in which the superstructure of TLPs is assumed to be flexible instead of rigid. Restoring forces by hydrostatic pressure on the submerged surface of a TLP have been accurately calculated by excluding the assumption of the slender body theory. The hydrodynamic interactions among TLP members, such as columns and pontoons, and the structural damping are included in the motion and structural analysis. The equations of motion of a whole structure are formulated using element-fixed coordinate systems which have the orgin at the nodes of the each hull element and move parallel to a space-fixed coordinate system. Numerical results are compared with the experimental and numerical ones, which are obtained in the literature, concerning the motion and structural responses of a TLP in waves. The results of comparison confirmed the validity of the proposed approach.

Effect of High Dietary Carbohydrate on the Growth Performance, Blood Chemistry, Hepatic Enzyme Activities and Growth Hormone Gene Expression of Wuchang Bream (Megalobrama amblycephala) at Two Temperatures

  • The effects of high carbohydrate diet on growth, serum physiological response, and hepatic heat shock protein 70 expression in Wuchang bream were determined at $25^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$. At each temperature, the fish fed the control diet (31% CHO) had significantly higher weight gain, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and hepatic glucose-6-phosphatase activities, lower feed conversion ratio and hepatosomatic index (HSI), whole crude lipid, serum glucose, hepatic glucokinase (GK) activity than those fed the high-carbohydrate diet (47% CHO) (p<0.05). The fish reared at $25^{\circ}C$ had significantly higher whole body crude protein and ash, serum cholesterol and triglyceride, hepatic G-6-Pase activity, lower glycogen content and relative levels of hepatic growth hormone (GH) gene expression than those reared at $30^{\circ}C$ (p<0.05). Significant interaction between temperature and diet was found for HSI, condition factor, hepatic GK activity and the relative levels of hepatic GH gene expression (p<0.05).

  • The structural response characteristics of Tension leg platforms(TLPs) in waves are examined for presenting the basic data for structural design of TLPs. The numerical approach is based on a combination of the three dimensional source distribution method and the structural response analysis method, in which the superstructure of TLP is assumed to be flexible instead of rigid. Hydrodynamic and hydrostatic forces on the submerged surface of a TLP have been accurately calculated by excluding the assumption of the slender body theory. The hydrodynamic interactions among TLP members, such as columns and pontoons, and the structural damping are included in structural analysis. The mooring forces are estimated as the sum of pretension of tendons and variational tension due to longitudinal displacements. Stiffness matrices of elastic beam elements connecting nodes are formulated by ordinary method of three dimensional frame analysis. The equation of motion about the whole structure is obtained by the sum of forces and moments acting on each nodes.

  • 가상현실의 기술에 있어서는 미국을 필두로 한 독식형 시장 그리고 유니버셜 등의 가상현실 아이템들이 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 다인칭의 사용자가 시각, 촉각, 청각, 운동감 등 온 몸으로 직접 체험을 하며 콘텐츠에 깊게 빠져들어 즐길 수 있는 새로운 형태의 콘텐츠 플랫폼을 개발해야 하며 관람객이 수동적으로 콘텐츠를 즐기는 것이 아니라 능동적으로 콘텐츠에 직접 참여하여 몰입도를 극대화 시킬 수 있는 콘텐츠 개발을 해야 한다. 이를 위해 $360^{\circ}$서클비전, 입체영상, 인터렉션, 시뮬레이터, 환경 Effect 등의 모든 요소가 혼합된 새로운 형태의 5D 가상현실 어트렉션 콘텐츠의 개발이 필요하며 이를 위한 색상 및 밝기 보정 기술 방법들을 제안하고자 한다.

웹캠과 공간정보를 이용한 체감형 기능성게임 (Motion Based Serious Game Using Spatial Information of Game and Web-cam)

  • 웹캠을 사용한 체감형 기능성게임은 손과 팔 머리 등 온몸을 인터페이스로 사용하는 게임과 운동을 병행하는 새로운 형태의 게임이다. 이때 게이머의 움직임이 미치는 공간이 게임 정보공간으로 이 공간상에 가상객체와의 상호작용이 발생하는 곳이다. 이 공간을 효과적으로 분할, 분석하여 게이머의 공격으로부터 적 캐릭터가 효과적으로 피할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 게임 공간을 9등분하여 적 캐릭터의 위치와 상, 하, 좌, 우의 게이머의 움직임 정보를 이용하여 충돌 회피를 구현한다. 이를 검증하기 위하여 웹캠, 게임플레이어, 적 캐릭터로 구성된 체감형 기능성 게임을 제작하고, 제안한 기법을 사용하여 충돌 회피를 실험하여 그 타당성을 확인하였다. 특히 적 캐릭터 앞 공간 영역에 움직임 정보가 있는 경우 제자리 뛰기를 하면서 기다리며 충돌회피 공간을 찾음으로써 보다 재미있고, 효과적인 충돌회피가 가능하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 웹캠을 이용한 체감형 기능성게임의 효과적인 상호작용과 레벨조정 등 개발 알고리즘으로 활용될 수 있다.

정상지원자에서 Cimetidine과 Cyclosporine의 약물상호작용 (Drug Interaction of Cimetidine and Cyclosporine in Human)

  • The effect of cimetidine administration on the pharmacokinetic parameters of cyclosporine were determined in healthy voluteers. This study was performed in 10 volunteers of age ranged 22-48 years and body weight 48-62 kg. This study was performed with cross-over design. Mono cyclosporine and cyclosporine metabolites was extracted from whole blood analysed by fluororescence polarization immune assay (TDX-FLX, Abbott). After coadministration of cimetidine (300 mg) with cyclosporine (300 mg) orally, maximum concentration of mono cyclosporine was significantly increased $1221{\pm}143\;ng/ml\;to\;1562{\pm}184\;ng/ml$ (P<0.05), area under the time curve of cyclosporine (12 hr) also was significantly increased $7478{\pm}829\;ng/ml{\cdot}hr\;to\;9721{\pm}879\;ng/ml{\cdot}hr$ (P<0.05) and absolute baioavailability of cyclosporine was increased $50\pm5.6\%\;to\;57.6\pm6.1\%\;(P<0.05)$ compared to control group. The blood concentrations of cyclopsorine metabolites were significantly decrased (P<0.05) after coadministration of cimetidine. In cimetidine pretreated group, blood mono cyclosporine concentrations were increased significan시y $1220.0\pm203.00\;ng/ml\;to\;1510.0\pm204.00\;ng/ml$ compared with control group (P<0.05). In the mono cyclosporine pharmacokinetic parameter after oral administration absorption rate and maximum concentration were significantly higher in cimetidine coadministered and pretreated group than control group (P<0.05). The ratio of metabolites and mono cyclosporine concentrations was decreased significantly from $70.8\%\;in\;control\;to\;34.8\%$ in coadministration of cimetidine orally. As matter of facts these reults are considered to inhibition of cyclosporine hepatic metabolism and increasing of cyclosporine absorption rate in gastrointestinal tract because of maintaining cyclosporine stability in elevated gastric pH by cimetidine. We considered, it appeares that cimetidine increase bioavailability of cyclosporine by increasing oral absorption and by decreasing hepatic clearance. But the absorption and clearance of cyclosporine was highly variable individually, and therefore we consider that cyclosporine blood level monitoring would be essential in patients with cimetidine co-administration.

  • Yin Yang theory is the first and the last one to interpret diseases apply to treatment in oriental medicine. So it is regarded as the way of heaven and earth, the discipline of all things, the origin of change, the beginning of giving birth and death, the source of spirit. These regulatory passages are needed to compare with western medical physiology and analyzed whether it has scientific bases or not. The Yin Yang theory of traditional oriental medicine are summerized from the descriptions of Scripture of Documents, Ying Wei theory of Huangdi Neijing. Meanwhile up-to-date neurobiological and molecular genetic theories on circadian physiology are reviewed in western medicine. Sunshine is transferred through RGC to SCN, herein the central circadian rhythm is made by zeitgeber and interaction of melatonin secreted from pineal body and orexin from mp pan of hypothalamus. So HPA axis is activated and controlled under the circadian rhythm and affects peripheral tissues and cells of whole body through glucocorticoid hormones. First of all, the circadian rhythm makes the basic patterns of human life in biological and sociological meaning. It is almost same context with the record of the Scripture of Documents. Also the Ying Qi and Wei Qi is basically same with the sleep-awake mechanism, that is melatonin/orexin signal or per/clk/bmal/cry genes with circadian activation and activity of each organ's physiological function. Conclusively it can be said that Yin Yang is a priori principle of living things and the beginning of giving birth and death for activation of them biologically, as is described in Huangdi Neijing.
