  • The purpose of this study is to derive implications for Korean home economics curriculum to emphasize consumer competency of adolescents by analyzing the content components of consumer competency presented in 'consumer life' area of middle school home economics curriculum of 3 states in the U.S. The analysis results and implications are summarized as follows: First, the U.S. home economics curriculum is composed of various contents, including credit management, savings/investment/ insurance, taxes, and financial situation, and financial decision-making, to improve adolescent's understanding of finance. In the next revision of Korean curriculum, for financial stability in prolonged life after retirement, it is would be necessary to include contents on basic financial knowledge and technology for financial information utilization so that students can establish financial plans for different life stages in consideration of various variables such as changes in economic environment, etc. Second, the U.S. home economics curriculum was developed to help students make better purchase decisions by applying economic concepts such as prices and interest rates, economic trends and the impact of demand and supply, purchase methods and contract conditions, etc. However, Korean home economics curriculum only focus on purchase plan and purchase decision-making process. It would be necessary to foster consumer transaction competency by introducing economic concepts suitable middle school level. Third, to emphasize "consumer civic competency", Ohio was focusing on "claim of consumer rights" and Wisconsin was focusing on the "acceptance of consumer responsibility." In order to enhance adolescent's consumer civic competency, it would be necessary for Korean curriculum to balance the claim of right and the acceptance of consumer responsibility in the following term, and to emphasize the contents on consumer policies, laws and consumer advocacy to create a consumer environment where consumer sovereignty is realized.

  • The survey is intended to improve science education by the analysis of problems produced in the following nine aspects (objectives, contents, materials, inquring methods, teaching methods, teachers, children, evalutions, admininative supports) during the past five years often the revision of new science curriculum. 1. View for science education. 1) The teacher's and children's view for science education can be seen renewed, being different from the old one. 2) Inquring method in learning and teaching began to take firm root and children came to know that it is the only way to study science. 3) Writers think that the new science education has stepped into the stage of being fixed to a considerable degree. 2. The aspect of administrative policy. 1) The amount of materials in possession is small and the present materials are lacking in solidity and precision. 2) Class room teacher's over load with miscellaneous things is a difficult problem to solve. 3) The shortage of the printed materials and books for children and teachers has an influence on the development of inquring method. 4) It causes cramming to examine all children at the same time by paper test. 5) It is more desirable to appoint qualified teacher only for science teaching. 3. Contents of science curriculum. 1) In current science textbooks. There can be found some contents which are difficult for teachers to understand and not in accordance with the reality of Korea. Therefore, it is imperative that contents of science textbooks should be reexamined. 2) As it is hard to teach concepts of reciprocal action and to prepare materials with teaching of the system of biological concepts, the teaching of contents is likely to be a cramming. 4. • In various fields such as art, design, music, film, sports, games, and fashion, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are creating new economic value through trading platforms dedicated to NFT art and content. In this article, I analyze the current state of blockchain technology and NFT art content in the context of an expanding market for blockchain-based NFT art content in the metaverse. I also propose several tasks based on the economic and industrial logic of technological innovation. The first task proposed is to integrate cultural arts on blockchain, metaverse, and NFT platforms through digital innovation, instead of separating or distinguishing between creative production and consumption. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a clear separation between creators and consumers. However, with the rise of Web 3.0 platforms, any user can now create and own their own content. Therefore, it is important to promote a collaborative and integrated approach to cultural arts production and consumption in the blockchain and metaverse ecosystem. The second task proposed is to align the legal framework with blockchain-based technological innovation. The enactment and revision of relevant laws should focus on promoting the development of the NFT trading platform ecosystem, rather than merely regulating it for user protection. As blockchain-based technology continues to evolve, it is important that legal systems adapt to support and promote innovation in the space. This shift in focus can help create a more conducive environment for the growth of blockchain-based NFT platforms. The third task proposed is to integrate education on digital arts, including metaverse and NFT art contents, into the current curriculum. This education should focus on convergence and consilience, rather than merely mixing together humanities, technology, and arts. By integrating digital arts education into the curriculum, students can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the potential of blockchain-based technologies and NFT art. This article examines the digital technological innovation such as blockchain, metaverse, and NFT from an economic and industrial point of view. As a limitation of this research, the critical mind such as philosophical thinking or social criticism on technological innovation is left as a future task.

  • This study tried to examine the necessity of AI literacy education to increase the effectiveness of artificial intelligence education ahead of the revision of the next revised curriculum. To this end, AI modeling classes were conducted for high school students and the necessity, content, and training period of AI literacy perceived by students in AI education were investigated through a questionnaire. The results showed that they generally agreed on the need for data utilization and data preprocessing in the AI class, and in the course of the AI class, there were many cases of difficulties due to lack of basic competencies for database use. In particular, it was observed that the understanding of the file structure for data analysis was insufficient and the understanding of the data storage format for data analysis was low. In order to overcome this part, the necessity of prior education for data processing was recognized, and there were many opinions that it is generally appropriate to go to high school at that time. As for the content elements of AI literacy, it was found that there were high demands on the content of data visualization along with data transformation, including data creation and deletion.

  • Objectives: This study was aimed to develop a pharmacovigilance practice training course for future doctors of Korean medicine, the graduate students of a college of Korean medicine, and to verify the educational effect of the curriculum. Methods: Fifty-six students were given a training course designed as follows: 1) pre-class homework (basic theory self-study, online course, causality assessment, and adverse event reporting simulation); 2) in-class: homework submission and case discussion; 3) after-class: homework revision and resubmission. An online survey to assess the change of the level of basic knowledge and attitudes toward pharmacovigilance, the willingness to report adverse events, and self-efficacy for the causality assessment and adverse event reporting was conducted before and after education. Results: The survey participation rate was 96.5% in pre-education and 64.3% in the post-education survey. After education, knowledge level was improved (mean score from 4.3±2.11 to 6.7±1.96 points, modal value from 3 to 8 points) and positive changes were observed in almost all questions on attitudes. In the post-education survey, more students felt that they could do causality assessment (from 13% to 80.5%), could report adverse events to the agency in charge (from 7.4% to 96.2%), and expressed their strong willingness to report adverse events in the future (from 77.8% to 88.9%) than in the pre-education survey. Conclusions: More schools of Korean medicine need to adopt pharmacovigilance training courses in their curriculum to foster future doctors of Korean medicine with pharmacovigilance capabilities. Such efforts will be the basis for achieving an evidence-based, safe use of herbal medicine.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and present what aspects of the concept of function prospective mathematics secondary teachers emphasize when designing a class that introduces the concept of function using curriculum and textbooks. For this purpose, virtual instruction and reflections on virtual instruction were analyzed. The results are as follows. The prospective mathematics secondary teachers consider and introduce the concepts of function as correspondences and processes. Their conception of function was consistently observed during virtual instruction and reflections on virtual instruction. The prospective mathematics secondary teachers' conception of function was closely related to the form of expressing functions. These results provi e implications for prospective mathematics secondary teachers' education for introducing the concept of function based on the dependent relation between variables presented in the 2015 revision of the national mathematics curriculum.

  • This study analyzed the description of the definitions of terms used in the high school <Mathematics> textbooks of the 2015 revised curriculum, selected controversial terms, and investigated the perceptions of mathematics teachers and professors on them. The four controversial terms selected were 'absolute inequality', 'asymptotes', 'irrational expressions', and 'irrational functions'. A survey was conducted to evaluate whether the definitions of these terms differed between textbooks, whether they needed improvement, and whether they needed to be designated as terms. The results of the study showed that 'absolute inequality' was recognized as having a large difference in the definitions of the textbooks, and that there was a high need for revision of the definitions of the terms. In addition, the need for additional research was raised on 'asymptotes' and 'irrational expressions'. This study can be used as basic data for standardizing and improving the definitions of textbook terms to improve students' conceptual understanding.
