  • The results of a series of experiments executed by using two pilot-scale oxy-fuel burners are presented. The oxy-fuel burners are designed for maximum capacity of 50,000kcal/hr, 200,000kcal/hr and installed in the test furnace. The effects of turn-down ratio, excess oxygen ratio, nozzle exit velocity, injection angle, and swirl vane angle on the combustion characteristic are investigated. Temperature distributions are measured using R-type and Molybdenum sheathed C-type thermocouple at various points of the flame. The results showed that maximum temperature and mean temperature increase with the increase of turn-down ratio and momentum. The maximum flame temperature was increased about 35% compared to the case of equivalent air operated condition. In addition, optimum burner type, excess oxygen ratio and nozzle characteristics are obtained for this oxy-fuel glass melting furnace.

  • In this paper, a temperature controller with monitor function is proposed for the electric furnace system. This controller includes holding and ramp control function, and the control program for the temperature process monitor of the electric furnace. For this purpose, the implementation and performance of auto tuning algorithms in a computer-based controller was studied in relation to the control of nonlinear electric furnace system which is characterized with large delay time. The control program for this controller programmed by c-language. To communicate a control and detection signals, between the controller and the electric furnace is implemented by the I/O data card. We apply the temperature controller to the practical electric furnace. As a result, the proposed controller shows the better status characteristic.

  • We investigated the cryogenic temperature plasticity of a bulk amorphous alloy. Experiments showed that as temperature decreases, the plasticity of the alloy increases, such that the alloy exhibited ~20% of plastic strain when tested at $-196^{\circ}C$. This enhancement in the plasticity at cryogenic temperatures was associated with the formation of abundant shear bands distributed uniformly over the entire surface of the sample. Nonetheless, the serrations, the characteristic feature of the plastic deformation of amorphous alloys, were unclear at $-196^{\circ}C$. In this study, both the enhanced plasticity and the unclear serrations exhibited by the amorphous alloy at cryogenic temperatures were clarified by exploring shear banding behaviors in the context of the velocity and the viscosity of a propagating shear band.

  • In this work, we consider a problem in the context of thermoelectric materials with memory-dependent derivative for a half space which is assumed to have variable thermal conductivity depending on the temperature. The Lamé's modulii of the half space material is taken as a function of the vertical distance from the surface of the medium. The surface is traction free and subjected to a time dependent thermal shock. The problem was solved by using the Laplace transform method together with the perturbation technique. The obtained results are discussed and compared with the solution when Lamé's modulii are constants. Numerical results are computed and represented graphically for the temperature, displacement and stress distributions. Affectability investigation is performed to explore the thermal impacts of a kernel function and a time-delay parameter that are characteristic of memory dependent derivative heat transfer in the behavior of tissue temperature. The correlations are made with the results obtained in the case of the absence of memory-dependent derivative parameters.

  • In this study, a method for predicting heating loads using building characteristic coefficients is proposed for heating system control, and a method for predicting hourly temperature and solar insolation, which mainly affect building heating loads, is also proposed. The temperature and solar insolation are predicted by using a fuzzy theory from forecast information at the meteorological agency, and the building characteristic coefficients for the prediction of heating loads are derived from EnergyPlus. The simulated heating loads of the present study show good agreement with those of EnergyPlus. and the variations of the predicted heating loads using the predicted temperature and solar insolation are similar to those using the actual weather data.

  • In this study, we analyzed the $CH_4$and $C_4$$H_{10}$ sensitivity measurement and voltage variation using catalytic type gas sensor characteristics in catalytic combustion type gas detecter sensors. Gas detector shall operate as intended when exposed for 24 hours to air having a relative humidity of 65 percent at a temperature of $20^{\circ}c$ and humidity of 85 percent at a temperature of $40^{\circ}c$. The gas detecter sensors are to be subjected to operation for 210 days in an area that has been determined to be equivalent to a typical residential atmosphere with an air velocity of 50 cm/sec. The source of energy for a gas detector sensors employing a supplementary basic circuit is energized from a seperate source of supply direct applied voltage 2.1V, 2.2V, 2.3V. As a result, it was confirmed that the relative humidity and temperature by regression each analysis, compared to the isobutane characteristic graph and methane characteristic graph by a relative humidity of 65% and 85% at a temperature($20^{\circ}c$, $40^{\circ}c$) show a similar linear pattern on the whore.

  • The effect of trimming process to adjust accurate resistance of a thin-film resistor was studied with respect to low temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR) and high precision. The characteristics of a thin-film resistor fabricated by sputtering were investigated depending on trimming condition and annealing temperature. Measured results showed that the characteristic of a thin-film resistor was degraded with increased trimming speed. However, an average resistance deviation and a TCR were improved to $0.26\%$ and 52.77[ppm/K], respectively, through annealing treatment. Also, thin-film resistors with 1 k$\Omega$ and 10k$\Omega$ showed better performance compared to a resistor with 100k$\Omega$. The Optimal trimming speed and annealing temperature were 20mm/sec and 539K, respectively, and under this optimal condition, a thin-film resistor with an average resistance deviation of $0.31\%$ and a TCR of below 10[ppm/K] was obtained.

  • During a major solar eruption, the erupting plasma is possibly out of the equilibrium ionization state because of its rapid heating or cooling. The non-equilibrium ionization process is important in a rapidly evolving system where the thermodynamical time scale is shorter than the ionization or recombination time scales. We investigate the effects of non-equilibrium ionization on EUV and X-ray observations by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board Solar Dynamic Observatory and X-ray Telescope (XRT) on board Hinode. For the investigation, first, we find the emissivities for all the lines of ions of elements using CHIANTI 8.07, and then we find the temperature responses multiplying the emissivities by the effective area for each AIA and XRT passband. Second, we obtain the ion fractions using a time-dependent ionization model (Shen et al. 2015), which uses an eigenvalue method, for all the lines of ion, as a function of temperature, and a characteristic time scale, $n_et$, where $n_e$ and t are density and time, respectively. Lastly, the ion fractions are multiplied to the temperature response for each passband, which results in a 2D grid for each combination of temperature and the characteristic time scale. This is the set of passband responses for plasma that is rapidly ionized in a current sheet or a shock. We investigate an observed event which has a relatively large uncertainty in an analysis using a differential emission measure method assuming equilibrium ionization state. We verify whether the observed coronal plasmas are in non-equilibrium or equilibrium ionization state using the passband responses.

  • In this paper, we wrote about the basic experimentation of Optical CT's temperature characteristic to measure high-current in a super-high-voltage electric power equipment which is using Faraday effect. We used the 1310[nm] Laser Diode as the light source and PIN Photodiode as receiver. For the transmission line of light, we used 30[m] single mode fiber which could maintain the state of polarization in the optical fiber. For the experiment, the temperature transformation device make by aluminium. the The range of current was from 400[A] and 1300[A] and the range of temperature was from $-40[^{\circ}C]\;to\;50[^{\circ}C]$. In a same experimental condition, magnitude increased input current increase follow by increasing proportion of input current.

  • This study has been investigated for tensile properties with lead-free brass containing 1 wt.% of Bi. And also characteristic of corrosion resistance was analyzed by polarization test. An increase of tempering temperature was found to tend to decrease tensile strength, and percentage of elongation was shown to be the lowest value at $300^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, the elongation was increased with an increase of tempering temperature after $300^{\circ}C$. The change of mechanical properties was closely related with the content and shape of acicular Witmanst$\ddot{a}$tten ${\alpha}$ formed at the interface of ${\beta}$ phase as well as in ${\beta}$ phase. Tensile strength had a tendency to be decreased with an increase of test temperature. The elongation was shown to be the lowest value at around $300^{\circ}C$, while it began to increase as test temperature rose after $300^{\circ}C$. It might be speculated that the reason that elongation was decreased was found to form bismuth film at the interface of ${\alpha}/{\beta}$ phase leading to be easily brittle when loaded by tensile stress. The lead-free brass containing 1 wt.% of Bi had similar characteristic of corrosion resistance with a free-cutting brass with 3.4 wt. % of Pb in spite of higher fraction of ${\beta}$ phase.
