A study on BRP(Building Rapid Printing) technology is in an initial stage although general 3d printers are being developed in a great speed and with fruitful outputs. Even some laboratories in advanced countries have difficulties in their research due to many technological restrictions and have not produced a practical output yet. This paper proposed distinct directions in which the research of this aera should be developed and this manifested four areas - printing speed, reinforcing tech, material tech and nozzle tech and those areas were proposed with concrete development alternatives and objects.
Flow boiling in parallel microchannels has received attention as an effective heat sink mechanism for power-densities encountered in microelectronic equipment. the bubble dynamics coupled with boiling heat transfer in microchannels is still not well understood due to the technological difficulties in obtaining detailed measurements of microscale two-phase flows. In this study, complete numerical simulation is performed to further clarify the dynamics of flow boiling in microchannels. The level set method for tracking the liquid-vapor interface is modified to include the effects of phase change and contact angle. The method is further extended to treat the no-slip and contact angle conditions on the immersed solid. Also, the reverse flow observed during flow boiling in parallel microchannels has been investigated. Based on the numerical results, the effects of channel shape and inlet area restriction on the bubble growth, reverse flow and heat transfer are quantified.
Presented in the paper is an algorithm to generate a section curve by slicing a point cloud including tens of thousands of points. Although, there have been previous research results on the slicing problem, they are quite sensitive on the density variations of the point cloud, as well as on the local noise in the point cloud. To relive the difficulties, three technological requirements are identified; 1) dominant point sampling, 2) avoiding local vibration, and 3) robustness on the density changes. To satisfy these requirements, we propose a new slicing algorithm which is based on a node-sphere diagram. The algorithm has been implemented and tested with various examples.
The primary purpose of this study is to investigate problems with the current mathematics textbook. According to a survey, the following were the findings: Textbook is only a tool-book for introducing mathematical facts. It is a unique book for all students possessing different level of mathematical ability. There is difficulty in teaming math using technological devices and in activating(mental and concrete) manipulative activities. There is difficulty in communicating while doing mathematics. There is lack of defined and developed layout of textbook, et. al. It can be however found that these problems can be solved to some degrees, when mathematics textbook is developed based on constructivism. Recently, in mathematics education, it has been gradually emphasized that constructivism can be powerful in teaching and learning mathematics. There are however some difficulties in developing mathematics textbooks to reflect constructivism, such as to fill the gap between the contents written in the national curriculum determined in advance and the contents which students construct psychologically or socially in mathematics class.
The split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) technique is widely used to characterize the dynamic mechanical response of engineering materials at high strain rates. In this paper, attendant problems associated with testing 70 mm diameter concrete specimens are considered, analysed and resolved. An adaptation of a conventional solid circular striker bar, as a means of achieving reliable and repeatable SHPB tests, is then proposed. In the analysis, a pseudo one-dimensional model is used to analyse wave propagation in a non-uniform striker bar. The stress history of the incident wave is then obtained by using the finite difference method. Comparison was made between incident waves determined from the simplified model, finite element solution and experimental data. The results show that the simplified method is adequate for designing striker bar shapes to overcome difficulties commonly encountered in SHPB tests. Using two specifically designed striker bars, tests were conducted on 70 mm diameter steel fibre reinforced concrete specimens. The results are presented in the paper.
Temporomandibular disorders refer to a large group musculoskeletal disorders that originate from the masticatory structures. The AADR recognize that temporomandibular (TMDs) encompass a group of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions that involve the temporomandibular joints (TMJs), the masticatory muscles, and all associated tissues. The signs and symptoms associated with these disorders are diverse, and may include difficulties with chewing, speaking, and other orofacial functions. They also are frequently associated with acute or persistent pain, and the patients often suffer from other painful disorders. The chronic forms of TMD pain may lead to absence from or impairment of work or social interactions, resulting in an overall reduction in the quality of life. However, the consensus of recent scientific literature about currently available technological diagnostic devices for TMDs is that, except for various imaging modalities, none of them shows the sensitivity and specificity required to separate normal subjects from TMD patients or to distinguish among TMD subgroups. This article reviews the various instruments to aid in the diagnosis of TMDs, and the overall validity and practical use of the Electromyography.
This paper presents a novel prototype of a current source resonant inverter using insulated gate bipolar transistors for driving a streamer reactor, streamer generation technology has been recognized as one of the best methods for water treatment, disinfection, industrial wastes utilization, and so on. However, some technological difficulties related to efficient streamer production have been significant problems restricting streamer usage in the industrial plants. Introduced in this paper is a pulse density modulated high frequency inverter for a plasma generate, which is developed with the aim to improve power conversion and control characteristics of the streamer reactor by using advances in power electronic technology. The developed system implements the feedforward control-based pulse density modulation control scheme with pulse width modulation feedback control strategy to compensate temperature and other environmental influences on streamer discharge.
