Methodology: Non-face-to-face teaching for formative art courses of the design majors (디자인 전공자의 조형 교과목 비대면 수업방법론)

  • This study aims to present a non-face-to-face teaching methodology for the theory and practical lessons of design majors, especially for the arts and sports field. It was conducted to improve the existing teaching models after the non-face-to-face online lectures which began with COVID-19. Various existing smart learning methods such as online classes, interactive classes, and flip learning were reviewed, and a method to efficiently manage practical skills by supplementing the shortcomings of each study was suggested. 4 stages of teaching development - setting a teaching method, teaching progress, evaluation, and follow-up management-were designated and applied to the class of design majors. The result showed that it is effective in terms of teaching method and progress; however, the limitations of non-face-to-face classes were found in the stages of evaluation and follow-up management. Therefore, it is expected that further research on evaluation and follow-up management, such as specific practical instruction methods is required to improve completion.

Comparison of Computational Thinking Improvement Based on Teaching Aids and Student's Level in Elementary Software Education (초등학교 소프트웨어교육에서 교구와 학습자 수준에 따른 컴퓨팅사고력 향상도 비교)

  • As the importance of software education is emphasized, various educations for improve the computational thinking of elementary school students are being provided. However, there are many limitations that apply to the school at preceding studies. because they were invented for specific environment or students. Therefore, in this study, software education was conducted by constructing teaching-learning activities in consideration of the characteristics of students such as teaching aids and level of computational thinking ability, which can influence students based on the contents of textbooks. Through the comparison about computational thinking improvements, this study tried to suggest the direction of effective software education method. As a result, there are differences in computational thinking improvements according to the student's level and used teaching aids. Specifically, visual programming and unplugged type teaching-learning activities were more effective in teaching aids, and according to the level of students, students with low level of computing thinking in pre-inspection showed relatively high improvement. This tendency suggests that it is necessary to consider various learning factors in designing teaching-learning activities in elementary software education.

Development of Web-based Multimedia Content for a Physical Examination and Health Assessment Course (웹기반의 건강사정 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 개발)

  • Purpose: This study was to develop Web-based multimedia content for Physical Examination and Health Assesment. Method: The multimedia content was developed based on Jung's teaching and learning structure plan model, using the following 5 processes: 1) Analysis Stage, 2) Planning Stage, 3) Storyboard Framing and Production Stage, 4) Program Operation Stage, and 5) Final Evaluation Stage. Results: The web based multimedia content consisted of an intro movie, main page and sub pages. On the main page, there were 6 menu bars that consisted of Announcement center, Information of professors, Lecture guide, Cyber lecture, Q&A, and Data centers, and a site map which introduced 15 week lectures. In the operation of web based multimedia content, HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and multimedia technology(Audio and Video) were utilized and the content consisted of text content, interactive content, animation, and audio & video. Consultation with the experts in context, computer engineering, and educational technology was utilized in the development of these processes. Conclusions: Web-based multimedia content is expected to offer individualized and tailored learning opportunities to maximize and facilitate the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. Therefore, multimedia content should be utilized concurrently with the lecture in the Physical Examination and Health Assesment classes as a vital teaching aid to make up for the weakness of the face-to- face teaching-learning method.

  • Web 2.0 could influence the teaching and learning system significantly due to its characteristics to utilize information using internet in various ways, to create information, and to reorganize it through information sharing. In this new environment of information-oriented classes using the computer, positive education method is required to develop new teaching/learning method based on the internet web 2.0 in order to fulfill the learner's intellectual curiosity and to lead the future-oriented classes. This paper proposed a teaching-learning models in the web 2.0-based internet information education and its effect analysis.

A Study on Algorithm Teaching and Learning Methods and Assessment for Elementary School Students (초등학생을 위한 알고리즘 교수학습방법과 평가)

  • In this study, we suggested the contents, teaching and learning method, and assessment types of algorithm education in elementary schools. First, we suggested the algorithm education contents; the expression, understanding, flowcharts, structure, results, correction, and improvement of algorithm. Second, we showed the algorithm teaching and learning methods; algorithm in our daily life, the unplugged activity, block programming and tangible programming. Finally, we analyzed all missions of 'Hour of Code' in Code.org, and suggested the algorithm assessment 4 types, which includes selecting, filling, correcting, predicting of appropriate algorithm.

  • Learning analytic has been utilized to helps us to successfully complete the course by using the interaction of the teacher and the learner data generated from the teaching and learning support system. In other words, Learning analytic is a method in order to understand the activities of learners. In the learning analytic, the data model is needed in order to utilize the more useful for teaching and learning activities data. Therefore, in this study, we propose a user centric data model of learning styles and learning objects. This model is expressed by aggregating of user learning style, learning objects, and learning activities. The proposed model is significant that laid the foundation for analyzing the activities of the learners in course units.

The Trend and The Issues of Domestic Studies in Relation to Science Teaching-Learning Methods (과학 교수 학습 방법에 관한 국내 연구 동향 및 이슈)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of domestic studies related to science teaching-learning methods. We reviewed articles published according to year, method, subjects and topic. The methods reported commonly in science education books were extracted. Experiment, cooperative learning, and discussion were methods which had been researched widely. Experimental study of them was utilized most. And next content analysis, survey, and case study were utilized much. The most object of experimental study was middle school students. These reviewed papers showed effects which were related to science achievement, attitude, inquiry ability and self-efficacy. As a result of this study we should research to apply and develop science teaching-learning methods variously. We ought to enlarge research direction to analyze context which applies science teaching-learning methods to educational field by qualitative study. We should try to study effects of teaching-learning methods longitudinally and latitudinally.

  • The objectives of this study are to study and propose the learning elements and it's teaching methods for Information Ethics by expert survey. In recent days, Internet is the new field of our living, but teaching the students in elementary and secondary schools the subject of Information Ethics which purpose is to have positive attitude of utilizing Internet is not properly executed. The first step to teach Information Ethics in schools is to choose the learning elements in Information Ethics. Therefore, this paper is to choose the learning elements and re-arrange them with point of view to elementary and secondary schools. And more, in order to teach the students the learning elements of Information Ethics effectively, we propose the proper teaching methods to the learning elements by teacher's survey. The learning elements and teaching methods in Information Ethics is not the perfect guide to teach students in school, but the output of this study will be the good guide to revise the Information Ethics-related curriculums and product the textbooks about Information Ethics.

  • The activation of the latest ICT(Information and Communication Technology)education has been putting more importance on the education of the application SW(software). By the way, the geometric progression of knowledge and the fast development of computer technology have continuously created new SW. Accordingly, the previous traditional SW learning paradigm runs into various problems. This study starts from the recognition of such problems. In this study, the SW adaptability is defined as the ability that learners can efficiently find and apply the suitable functions of SW to those problems in the problematic circumstances as well as promote retention and metastasis. With these premises, this paper makes an inquiry into the teaching-learning method. Besides, This paper explores the SW usability and the principles of UI(User Interface) design and deduces the SW learning strategy. Furthermore, it probes problems of the SW teaching-learning of the demonstration practice method and proposes the inquiring master for SW adaptability teaching-learning model.

Project-based Learning Method to Reorganize the NCS Training Program: Focusing on the 4-Year-Course University (NCS 교육과정 개편을 위한 프로젝트기반 학습법: 4년제 대학을 중심으로)

  • National Competency Standards are the major administrative project to build a competence-based society. The manpower for the global society should be recognized by performance rather than educational records. Therefore, all colleges should first nurture NCS-type manpower based on field needs. This study comparatively analyzed the differences between the lecture style of four-year colleges and the outcomes of problem-solving and project-based learning method to prove why it is necessary to introduce the NCS program. Especially, It will review the constraints and measures of NCS introduction to overcome in a four-year university. Through this, it can be used as a means to help improve the field conformity of a four-year college curriculum by presenting the development and utilization of curriculum-based NCS in a four-year university. As a result, it was found that the overall satisfaction with the problem-solving and project-based learning method was above average. Many students were dissatisfied with the traditional teaching methods and the new project-based learning method was relatively effective in college education. Students' participation also improved. Based on the evaluation of learning performance, the new method was found more satisfactory than the old teaching method in terms of comprehension of professional knowledge in various fields, nurturing of logical thinking skills, acquisition of analytical skills, comprehensive thinking skills, creative problem recognition, and open-minded thinking skills.
