The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of educational programming language(EPL) using the meta-analysis method. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, t-test and F-test were performed for the effect size differences between the variables. The results of the study were as follows: First, EPL turned out to be highly effective in improving learning effects. The total mean of effect size was as big as 1.01 and the value of $U_3$ was 84.38%. EPL increased the learning effect by 34.38% compared with the control group. Second, the moderator variables such as subject, publication type, and learner's school age there was no statistically significant differences. By designing the experiment nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design showed statistically significant effect size compared with single group pretest-posttest design. Third, the mean effect sizes of the dependent variables were as follows: Creativity 1.90, problem solving ability 1.25, logical thinking ability 1.18, learning motivation 0.81, and achievement 0.59. EPL showed positive effect than traditional teaching and learning method comprehensively.

Development of Computer science and internet technoloy have led changes all over the social area. Educational markets based on this circumstance are offering various services named remote education, cyber lecture, e-Learning, etc. Due to these products, systems for computer based teaching and evaluating student's achievement are wide spread. But in many systems we can find functional restrictions. In this paper we propose a RTE system offering interactive self control mode based education so as to provide customized education for each individual by realtime feedback of the level of the student's comprehension we expect that this system provides customized education environment considering student's achievement level and maximizes their motivation.
Education researchers have been continuously interested in the teacher's ability to design lessons and conducted various studies in order to improve the teacher's professionalism in determining the quality of school instruction. So, this study explored the change of instructional design through the lesson reflection of pre-service mathematics teachers who participated in practicum settings. As a result, in the lesson plan prepared by pre-service mathematics teachers, the motivation to induce learning in the introduction stage, to present the learning contents in the development stage, and to reconstruct the formative evaluation of the closing stage was the highest rate. And the categories of the reconstructed contents appeared intensively in terms of curriculum contents and teaching and learning methods. This result can be attributed to the lack of experience in designing and performing lessons by pre-service mathematics teachers, so it suggests that the opportunity to design and conduct classes that take into account the practical aspects of education should be provided in the preparation process for pre-service mathematics teachers.
For the purpose of turning learners' locus of control into internal-controllable variables, counseling materials were developed, and attribution counseling was given. The counseling effects were practically confirmed by way of teaching and evaluation in the actual classes, and furthermore the efforts to provide learners with successful experiences in learning were repeatedly made. As a result, the conclusions are as follows: 1. The procedure of Individual counseling for learning attribution based on individual standard grades and data of the variable order of merit apparently shows learners that if learners are to try their best in learning, they will surely go far in terms of learning in the near future. 2. The procedure of Individual counseling for teaming attribution based on achievement distribution in individual behavior-oriented fields suggests to learners that how to learn is as important as how much effort they make. Surely enough, learners are required to make more effective and efficient efforts, considering their own learning abilities. 3. With the above 1, 2 procedures involved, learners have attributed locus of causality in achievement to their internal-controllable causes. 4. With preparatory assignments according to learner's abilities provided, even slower learners came to be assured that their constant efforts could give rise to success in learning achievement. 5. Above all, it was confirmed that the learners' struggling attitude might well have a significant correlation with achievement success. The learners who are willing to attribute locus of causality in achievement to their internal-controllable causes or strenuous efforts and intrinsic motivation tend to be convinced that they can address themselves to whatever faces them, so they can set up specific learning goals fit for their abilities. Accordingly, they will bit by bit acquire successful experiences (often called 'Aha' experiences) and in turn, feeling the senses of self-efficacy and self-esteem enough to push their efforts even further, they can grow to form a positive self-concept. With one successful experience after another fed back into learners, they are gradually motivated to bring the oncoming achievement expectation to a higher level. To conclude, it is necessary that instruction leading to internal-controllable attribution should be provided, inducing learners to recognize success and failure in learning achievement as a result of their strenuous efforts.
Mathematics is the subject that requires high mental function such as the ability of logically thinking and investigating. Because of the reason there exists much greater difference in students' individual scholastic abilities in mathematics class than in other classes. Recently many schools organize students into two or three level-based mathematics classes according to each student's level to solve the problem. But in spite of its many merits the new system of class organization has some problems. The problem which is pointed out as the most serious thing frequently is that many teachers still use the same textbook and the same teaching method for all students, not considering student's level. Obviously it causes the reduction of students' interest and motivation. In this point of view, I tried to solve such a problem by development and application of level learning materials reconstructed text book according to students' abilities and levels through this research. As the result of the research to examine the changes of students' emotional factors such as the recognition, interest, and attitude which influence on improving self-educability in learning mathematics has occurred, the following conclusion comes out. 1. Through the mathematics class utilizing level learning materials reconstructed textbook, students come to recognize that level learning materials are more effective than uniformed contents of the same textbook and get more active learning attitude. 2 The application of level learning materials in a level-based class has contributed to increasing students' interest in mathematics. Furthermore it was also effective in the positive changes of students' emotional factors such as the recognition, interest, and attitude which influence on improving self-educability in learning mathematics.
This study was conducted to identify the causes of academic weakness and to find the ways to cope with it for the students majoring in science and engineering at the top university in Korea. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted for students who experienced academic warning and poor academic performance at A university, and a total of 207 students responded. The results were divided into two groups majoring in science and engineering or not and the characteristics and differences of each group were analyzed. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with five students who had experienced academic warning and poor academic performance. As a result, the group majoring in science and engineering had a relatively low level of difficulty in forming interpersonal relationships and relatively high degree of participation of activities in their departments. The group majoring in science and engineering have a tendency to choose careers that are connected with their majors, and therefore, their response was relatively low due to lack of career goals. However, the group majoring in science and engineering had difficulty in academic performance due to the difference in basic courses and the level of recognition about self-learning strategy needed for university study was relatively low compared with the group majoring in non-science and engineering. When they experienced academic problems, they said that their interest, support, and positive feedback from professors helped them recover their motivation and continue their studies. Through these results, it was confirmed that intervention and support are needed considering the academic situation and characteristics of the students majoring in science and engineering.
Recently, according to the appearance of various virtual websites using multimedia technologies, the internet applications in engineering education have drawn muchinterests. But unidirectional communication, simple text/image-based webpages and tedious learning process without motivation, etc. have made the lowering of educational efficiency in cyberspace. This paper presents a virtual laboratory system which can be creating efficiencies in the learning process. The proposed virtual laboratory system for digital logic circuits provides interactive learning environment under which the multimedia capabilities of world-wide web can be enhanced. The virtual laboratory system is implemented to describe the on-campus laboratory, the learners can obtain similar experimental data through it. The virtual laboratory system is composed of four important components : principle classroom, simulation classroom, virtual experiment classroom and management system. Learning efficiencies as well as faculty productivity are increased in this innovative teaching and learning environment.
In this study we analyze critically the educational studies on the history of mathematics, and the results of the questionnaires to the mathematics teachers and mathematics teacher educators and interviews with them in order to highlight the problems which ought to be settled for more efficient using the history of mathematics in the mathematics classes. We ought to deepen the understanding of the meaning of mathematical concepts and its essential viewpoints through the historical development of mathematics, going beyond the interest and motivation of learning mathematics. In this respect there are insufficient sides in the results of the educational studies in the history of mathematics and in the recognition of the mathematics teachers about using history of mathematics. And the teachings of the history of mathematics in the mathematics teachers education courses are not sufficient in that they just survey the history of mathematics, and it is the very important task to develop the historic-genetic materials in the school mathematics and study the historic-genetic approach to the mathematics texts.

This study aims to explore a plan for the educational application of K-MOOC brought into relief as a new education system and to draw a direction of improvement for increasing learners' satisfaction through the development and operation of the K-MOOC Course. The colleges produce and provide the MOOC Course as a counterplan through college innovation to respond to social changes due to the reduction of school-age population. Thus, this study selected the target courses for the operation of K-MOOC and proceeded with the development of a course, referring to the guidelines for the development and operation of the K-MOOC Course at the National Institute for Lifelong Education with the quantity for 14 weeks (About 50 minutes per week) for the period of the development of the course of about 5 months. The development of the course was made in the stages of design, development, inspection, and operation. The implications of the operation of K-MOOC obtained through this study are as follows: First, in order to increase the utilization of the MOOC Course, it is necessary to operate it in connection with the regular curriculum; second, it is necessary to have desirable communication to induce the interaction and academic motivation between the instructor and the learners; and third, it is necessary to analyze the relationship of the impact by each background factor through analyzing satisfaction with the lecture and continue to assure the quality of the course through understanding the learners' demands. For this purpose, it is important to experience new attempts directly and analyze the performance of education and the satisfaction of consumers and the instructor in detail, and it is necessary to construct a curriculum suitable for K-MOOC and seek an effective teaching method.

As the society evolves into information age, new teaching and learning methods are proposed. In this paper, we design and implement an on-line quiz program for the formative evaluation of Distance Computer Education. The computer studies include many difficult concepts and those are hard to learn and the distance learning has the advantage of overcoming time and spatial limitations but it needs learner's strong motivations to study. Also, the formative evaluation may guide teachers and learners to studying course and it is necessary to prevent both users from too much load. Therefore, presenting quiz and solving it may be a better way for the formative evaluation and we design and implement a Quiz Program for the formative evaluation of Distance Computer Education. We believe that our program will improve motivation of students in Distance Computer Education
