Preservice Biology Teachers' Learning to Teach Science through Science Methods Courses

  • This study tracked the changes of preservice biology teachers' pedagogical knowledge along with science teaching efficacy throughout sequentially developed science methods course I and II over two consecutive semesters. Two courses, science methods course I and II, aimed these preservice teachers to discuss the notion of science teaching with teaching and learning theories, to learn science instructional models, to design lessons utilizing science instructional models, and to eventually implement microteaching. The preservice teachers were mainly engaged in cooperative instructional planning activities through science methods course I, and engaged in cooperative microteaching activities through the science methods course II. This study revealed that preservice teachers successfully developed pedagogical knowledge and science teaching efficacy after two science methods courses. The science methods course I where cooperative instructional planning activities occurred helped the preservice teachers to improve pedagogical knowledge but not science teaching efficacy. Based on their pedagogical knowledge development, then, these preservice teachers increased science teaching efficacy belief after completion of the science methods course II.

  • 사이버가정학습은 사교육비 경감, 지역 간의 격차 해소, 학력신장이라는 정책 목표를 가지고 국가수준에서 추진된 이러닝 시스템이기 때문에, 그 효과를 검증하기 위한 선행 연구들은 교육적 목표 보다는 정책적 목표 달성 여부에 초점을 맞추어 평가 준거가 개발되었다. 선행 연구에서 제시한 평가준거들은 교수-학습 활동 요소에 따른 사이버가정학습의 효과와 교수-학습 활동과 관련된 사이버가정학습의 개선사항을 명확히 규명하는 데는 한계가 있다. 따라서 교육적 측면에서 사이버가정학습의 효과를 분석할 수 있는 평가 모델이 필요하다. 본 논문의 목적은 교수-학습 활동 요수에 따라 교육적 평가모델을 설계하고 사이버가정학습의 효과성을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사이버 가정학습과 관련된 국 내외 연구들을 조사하였고, 교수-학습 활동요소에 따라 교육적 평가 모델을 설계하였으면, 이에 근거하여 사이버가정학습을 이용한 학생들을 대상으로 설문 조사와 심층 면접을 통해 모델을 실험하였다.

과학수업모형의 비교 분석 및 내용과 활동 유형에 따른 적정 과학수업모형의 고안 (The Identification and Comparison of Science Teaching Models and Development of Appropriate Science Teaching Models by Types of Contents and Activities)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop appropriate science teaching models which can be applied effectively to relevant situations. Five science teaching models; cognitive conflict teaching models, generative teaching model, learning cycle teaching model, hypothesis verification teaching model and discovery teaching model, were identified from the existing models. The teaching models were modified and in primary and secondary students using a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Major findings of this study were as follows: 1. For teaching science concepts, three teaching models were found more effective; cognitive conflict teaching model, generative teaching model and discovery teaching model. 2. For teaching inquiry skills, two teaching models were found more effective; learning cycle teaching model and hypothesis verification teaching model. 3. For teaching scientific attitudes, two teaching models were found more effective; learning cycle teaching models and discovery teaching model. Each teaching model requires specific learning environment. It is strongly suggested that teachers should select a suitable teaching model carefully after evaluating the learning environment including teacher and student variables, learning objectives and curricular materials.

소집단 학습을 통한 수학과 학습부진아 지도방안 연구 (A Study on Teaching Method for the Underachievers through Small Groups′ Learning in Mathematics)

  • It is necessary that at any rate we try to decrease underachievers by learning deficiency in mathematics to extreme limits under circumstances that mathematics becomes more requisite daily in the 21st century's informative society. However, the traditional teaching method causes a lot of problems in elevating the needed ability for the newly changing society. Accordingly, for the purpose of letting underachievers by learning deficiency have much interest in mathematics, seek the qualitative elevation, have the feelings of self-confidence and accomplishments, escape from desperation, and also teachers choose the activities of small groups, design teaching plans, apply those to teaching-learning activities and finally verify the effect, this researcher sets up a hypothesis as follows: 1. The teaching method through small groups will be effective for the accomplishments of underachievers in mathematics. 2. Its method will bring out the meaningful change in the emotional areas of mathematics. Therefore, so as to prove the above hypothesis, the results through the theoretical approach and practicing teaming by small groups have turned out to be positive.

초등과학 학습내용과 관련된 학생의 사전질문 분석 (The Analysis of Students' Pre-inquire related to Elementary Science Curriculum Contents)

  • The purpose of this study is to collect and analyze the student's pre-inquire and to obtain information on how to use the teaching-learning process. The specific research problem is to confirm the level of the student's pre-inquire, to identify the characteristics of each type, and to check what pre-inquire can be used in the teaching-learning process. The research was conducted on 149 children in the $3^{rd}$ and $4^{th}$ grade of elementary school, and collected a total of 2,034 inquires. As a result of analyzing three times, the students' pre-inquires accounted for 90% of Level 2 and Level 3, which are the inquires that give meaningful answers in the teaching-learning process. These results show that the pre-inquires presented before the students take up the new lesson are not low-level inquires and they can present meaningful inquires that can be used for teaching-learning. Next, as a result of analyzing the student's inquire by type, the factual question was the largest with 50%, followed by comprehension question, procedural question, application question, and prediction question. The factual and procedural questions showed that they could be used as learning activities during the teaching-learning process. Comprehension questions included in the wonderment question can be used as a learning question. And the application question is a question that can be applied to deepening activities, and the prediction question can be used in the inquiry and experiment process of learning activities.

대학 교수자의 수업전문성 향상을 목적으로 하는 e-티칭 포트폴리오의 구성요소 탐색 (An Exploration on Elements of e-Teaching Portfolio for Enhancing Teaching Expertise in Higher Education)

  • This study has explored the elements of e-teaching portfolio for enhancing teaching expertise in higher education. This study is carried out through the literature review and expert's focus group interview. As the result of this study, seven elements of e-teaching portfolio for enhancing teaching expertise in higher education have been found. First, 'personal background' include curriculum vitae, course responsibility, and other educational activities. Second, 'teaching philosophy' include the principals on teaching and learning, statements of teaching philosophy. Third, 'learning environment' include the characteristics of students, the previous learning contents, and physical environment. Forth, 'course contents and methods' include teaching strategies and instructional materials, Fifth, 'instructional evaluation' includes the principals of evaluation and the examples of learning outcomes. Sixth, 'endeavor for improvement of instruction' include evidence of activity for teaching improvement and instruction feedback from peer and students. And e-teaching portfolio also includes research career and awards history element.

실과교과의 교수 .학습 방법에 대한 교사들의 인식 (The Perception of Teachers on the Instructional Method of Practical Arts Education)

  • This study examined teacher perception of the instructional method. activities and material in terms of class quality enhancement. Also this study established instructional method. activities and material application Per 7th Practical Arts Education Course guidance domain. and type identification of the instructional method and activities unique to the Practical arts curriculum. Conclusions : 1. Teachers consider the instructional method and material beneficial. However in the item relevant to application of diverse instructional methods Per specific teaching objective and educational content in the actual classroom. the highest percentage responding. ‘relatively yes’ (39.7%) . balanced out with those answering. ‘no’(37.7%) 2. In linking the instructional method and material to secondary school home economics education, teachers experienced difficulty in teaching only the clothing education domain . 3. In each guidance domain, lecture method, problem-solving learning. cooperative learning. home project learning and functional learning were surveyed for instructional method suitability. Notably, home project learning was identified as a significant instructional method. This result begs in-dept analysis as home project learning may be utilized as a tool to compensate for the absence of practical educational objective condition fulfillment and to substitute for teachers unable to Provide such functional guidance in class. 4. In each guidance domain. role-playing. debate/discussion. case study research, practical exercise and activity reporting were rated as essential teaching ㆍ learning activities. 5. In each guidance domain.‘VCR’, ‘CD-ROM’ and ‘Web media’ were identified as suitable instructional materials .

직업계고 교원의 NCS 기반 교육과정 편성·운영 역량 연구 (A Study on Competencies of Teacher for Organizing and Operating of National Competency Standards Based Vocational Education Curriculum (NCS based curriculum) in Vocational High Schools)

  • 이 연구는 NCS 기반 교육과정을 편성 운영하는데 교원에게 요구되는 역량을 구명하고 이 역량들의 상대적 중요도를 분석하여 직업계고에서의 NCS 기반 교육과정 운영에 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, NCS 기반 교육과정 편성 운영 역량은 4개의 대영역, 11개의 중영역, 35개의 요소로 구명되었다. 요구 및 환경 분석(대영역 1)은 2개의 중영역인 요구 분석, 학습 환경 분석으로, 교육과정 편성(대영역 2)은 4개의 중영역인 교육과정 협의회 조직 및 운영, 교육목표 및 인력양성 유형 설정, NCS 능력단위 및 학습모듈의 분석 선정, 교과목 편성 및 교육내용 결정으로, 교육과정 운영(대영역 3)은 3개의 중영역인 교수 학습 준비, 교수 학습 실행, 교수 학습 평가로, 교육과정 평가 및 피드백(대영역 4)은 2개의 중영역인 교육과정 평가, 교육과정 피드백으로 구성된다. 둘째, NCS 기반 교육과정 편성 운영 역량의 상대적 중요도는 교수 학습 실행(19.6%), 교수 학습 평가(14.2%), 교육과정 평가(12.5%), 교육과정 피드백(11.2%), 교수 학습 준비(9.2%), 교과목 편성 및 교육내용 결정(8.6%), NCS 능력단위 및 학습모듈의 분석 선정(7.5%), 교육목표 및 인력양성유형 설정(6.6%), 학습 환경 분석(5.4%), 요구 분석(3.9%), 교육과정 협의회 조직 및 운영(1.5%) 순으로 나타났다.

플립러닝을 활용한 체육과 경쟁활동 교수학습 모형개발 (The Development of Teaching and Learning Model in Physical Education and Competitive Activities Using Flipped Learning)

  • 본 연구는 체육과 경쟁활동 플립러닝 교수학습 모형을 개발하고 그 모형의 타당성을 확인하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 우리는 본 연구의 목적 달성을 위한 연구 방법으로 모형 연구 방법을 활용하였는데, 먼저 모형 개발 연구를 통하여 체육과 경쟁활동 플립러닝 교수학습 모형을 개발하였고, 이어서 모형 타당화 연구를 통하여 모형의 타당화 작업을 수행하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발한 교수학습 모형을 바탕으로 학교 현장의 체육 수업에서 학생은 수동적인 학습자에서 능동적인 학습자로 변화할 수 있고, 모형 내에서 제시한 협력형 활동을 통하여 기존의 체육 수업과는 다른 학습자간의 상호작용을 바탕으로 수업 목표를 달성할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

교수-학습 활동과 학습자의 특성을 고려한 스마트교육 개념모델 (A Conceptual Model of Smart Education Considering Teaching-Learning Activities and Learner's Characteristics)

  • 정보통신 기술의 발전과 스마트 디바이스의 대중화로 인한 관심과 열풍은 문화적인 이슈를 넘어 교육에까지 확산되고 있다. 이에 스마트교육의 학습 효과에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있으나 스마트교육에 대한 개념이 확립되지 않아 스마트 디바이스를 도구적으로 적용한 연구에만 머물러 있다. 본 논문은 효과적인 스마트교육을 위해 사용될 수 있는 교육환경, 학습자 특성, 스마트 교육 특징, 그리고 스마트교육 활동을 고려한 CTLA(Creation, Teaching, Learning and Assessment) 모델과 이를 적용한 스마트교육 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 CTLA 모델은 스마트교육을 위해 고려되어야 하는 핵심적인 요소들을 반영하고 있으며 효과적인 스마트교육 시스템을 설계하는 기본 모델로 사용될 수 있다. 향후에는 제안된 모델을 기본으로 한 다양한 스마트교육 시스템을 개발하고, 개발된 스마트교육 시스템의 효과성과 효율성에 대한 과학적인 검증 연구가 지속되어야 할 것이다.
