  • As the importance of ICT use in education grows, this study analyzes the differences and characteristics of perceptions of educational fields and industries on the use of Edutech, and proposes policy suggestions for revitalizing Edutech by deriving requirements. Accordingly, a survey was conducted on 201 teachers and 100 companies, and IPA analysis, Borich's needs, basic statistics, and t-test were conducted to find out the necessity and utilization of Edutech. As a result, they were highly aware of the need for the use of Edutech, and perceived that the support or accessibility for Edutech was insufficient. Accordingly, direct exchange between on-site teachers and companies from the product development stage to utilization and follow-up management, professional support for the introduction of Edutech, simplification of the purchase process and deregulation, customized support and training programs according to the characteristics of teachers are required. In the future, it is necessary to consider the changes in education that will occur after COVID-19 and establish appropriate product development and spread strategies.

  • As generative artificial intelligence (AI) services become more diversified and widely used, attempts and discussions on their application in education have become active. The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze general and work-related perceptions, utilization, and needs regarding generative AI in elementary and secondary education. A survey was conducted among teachers and staff in Chungcheongbuk-do, and 934 responses were analyzed. The main research results are as follows: First, their work-related use of generative AI was lower than their general use, and considering the periodic frequency of more than once a month, the rate was much lower. Second, the main expectation when using generative AI in work appears to be improved work efficiency. Third, regarding the use of generative AI for each task, differences in perception of its usefulness were noticeable depending on position and occupation. They generally responded positively to the usefulness of generative AI in processing documents. To facilitate the use of generative AI for work by elementary and secondary teachers and staff, it is necessary to create an environment that promotes its use while ensuring safety against potential side effects. Additionally, requirements and needs should be considered depending on the position and occupation.

I chose 15 people with the incumbent teachers who have ever taught scientifically gifted and have a degree in the gifted education or science subject education as study participants and had a depth interview with them. According to result of the study, 14 of 15 study participants recognized the necessity of individualized education in science should understand the personal requirements according to the tendency of the gifted students and should be a study led by students themselves. Of the problems in gifted science education, teachers regarded the reduction in the financial support as the biggest problem and the vocation and professionalism of teachers were referred as a very important factor. With constraints of time and space, there were plenty of opinions that can't ignore the influence of educational environment associated with the university entrance examination. There were many opinions that there is excessive expansion of the agencies and the target for gifted students, no standardized measurement tools and programs and the lack of the system for the coherent observation as a teacher. Also, the unified curriculum of gifted science education institutions were pointed out as the problem and the individualized programs which were already under way have a lot of weakness and being offered marginally. Thus, from now on, to apply for individualized education of gifted science, teachers demanded optimized education conditions and consistent policy support, and expressed the opinion that there needs of a possible continuous observation system. Besides, the curriculum and programs matched the needs of the students should be taken priority the most, and there were another answers that fellow learning within the cooperative learning can be an alternative of the individualized. Along with that, there were lots of opinions that the treatment to overcome an inferiority complex according to the individualized should be followed.

  • The advent of powerful hardware and advances in high speed networks enabled synchronous learning, with teachers and students being geographically distributed but connected via computer networks. Today's synchronous learning systems are mainly based on video conferencing technology which provides audio, video, and joint editing of documents only, but does not take into account the specific requirements of teaching, for instance, controlling the course of instruction, raising hands, or reference pointing. A shared whiteboard is often the core part of these systems. Therefore, in this paper, we look into implementation issues in whiteboards of distance learning systems. Particularly, system architectures and concurrency control mechanisms are considered.

  • Continuously expanding information technology is changing the world in which our students live. Many schools are using this new technology and many schools are contemplating the use of this new technology. The ways in which teachers and students work, and their dependence on information technology, have evolved significantly-increasing the importance of getting the information technology infrastructure right in schools. Yet, all too often, most of schools are unable to take full advantage of the opportunities that information technology offers since those designing and fitting out school buildings have failed to consider information technology adequately. This study is to guide the physical design of practical networked schools. In this paper, we present the ways to achieve architectural solutions to the manifold problems associated with accommodation of information technology in schools. The practical guidelines for planning and managing information technology infrastructure-that is, the spaces and services provided in the school building to support the user' information technology requirements-are offered. Adherence to these guidelines will provide a substantial degree of adapability and flexibility in school buildings.
