  • The purpose of this thesis is to study recognition and attitude between teachers and students about school environmental education. The data for this study were collected by administering interviews with seven hundred sixty three teachers and one thousand six hundred fifty six students, and make comparison between these teachers and students recognition and attitude for the environmental education by use of research are as follows. The conclusion of this research are as follows. First, In the study of teachers and students recognition and attitudes about environmental education, though they are interested in it, they lack in knowledge and ability to solve real environmental problems. Also, environmental education tends to be dealt with indifferently and formally because of the burden of entrance examination and lack of material concerned. Second, the recognition and attitude of the teacher-student group about the school environmental education have meaningful difference in each region. The suggestions for the improvement of the environmental education based on these conclusions are as follows. First, the more efficient methods and materials of the school environmental education must be developed in order that students may understand the complex property of the environment and at the same time have the ability to improve the environmental quality. • In this study, we created, implemented, and evaluated the impact of proportional reasoning authentic investigative activities on the mathematical content and pedagogical knowledge and attitudes of pre-service elementary and middle school mathematics teachers. For this purpose, a special teaching model was developed, implemented, and tested as part of the pre-service mathematics teacher training programs conducted in Israeli teacher colleges. The model was developed following pilot studies investigating the change in mathematical and pedagogical knowledge of pre- and in-service mathematics teachers, due to experience in authentic proportional reasoning activities. The conclusion of the study is that application of the model, through which the pre-service teachers gain experience and are exposed to authentic proportional reasoning activities with incorporation of theory (reading and analyzing relevant research reports) and practice, leads to a significant positive change in the pre-service teachers' mathematical content and pedagogical knowledge. In addition, improvement occurred in their attitudes and beliefs towards learning and teaching mathematics in general, and ratio and proportion in particular.

  • This study aims to investigate any differences which exist in the early adaptation of infants at child care center according to the characteristics of the infants themselves, their mothers and their child care teachers. The subjects consisted of the infants themselves, their mothers, and teachers at 11 child care centers in Chung-nam and Daejeon cities. Data were collected by means of the PAQ (The Preschool Adjustment Questionnaire) and questionnaires regarding the rearing attitudes of the mothers. For the purpose of data analysis, a T-test and one-way ANOVA were used. The results were as follows. First, there were significant differences in terms of the early adaptation of infants according to their ages and their length of experience in child care centers. Second, there were no significant differences in the early adaptation of infants according to the child rearing attitudes of the mothers and between unemployed mothers and the employed mothers. Third, there were significant differences in the early adaptation of infants according to the child care teachers' level of career experience and their ages.

We selected 262 pre-service early childhood education teachers. The Focus Group Interview and questionnaire were used to measure the perceptions and attitudes about the introduction and utilization of smart education. As a result, most of pre-service early childhood education teachers use smart phones and they use extra two more hours except phone calls. The most frequent usage is text. It is affected to device utilization experience in class, impact on childhood development. FGI results of pre-service early childhood education teachers for the introduction and utilization of smart education were analyzed by 2 subjects, 4 categories, 18 items.

  • The movement control order and shutting down educational institution in Saudi Arabia has jeopardized the teaching and learning process. Education was shifted to distance learning in order to avoid any academic loss. In the middle of the Covid-19 crisis, there is a need to assess the full image of e-learning in Saudi Arabia. To investigate student and teachers' perception and acceptance, parents' attitudes and believes about distance education are the main goals of the study. The mix-method research design was employed to collect data. Three surveys were distributed to 100 students and 50 teachers and 50 parents from different educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, while semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 parents. Random stratified and convenient sampling methods were adopted. Both descriptive and content analysis was conducted using SPSS25.0 and NVIVO software for quantitative and qualitative data accordingly. The findings showed that students are comfortable with remote education and are receiving enough support from schools and instructors but they think online education can't replace conventional face-to-face learning. Moreover, the results showed that teachers are having challenges in preparing online classes because of the development of conducting online classes and the lack of training. However, parents showed negative attitudes regarding the benefits and values of remote education and preferred conventional learning styles in elementary schools. Parents tended to reject and resist distance learning for several reasons: professional knowledge and lack of time to support their young kids in online classes, the shortcomings of e-learning, young children's inadequate self-regulation. Saudi parents are neither trained nor ready to use e-learning. The study provided suggestion and implications for teacher education and policymakers.

  • The purpose of this survey is to investigate the status on attitudes toward science among the elementary school students in Korea. The attitudes toward science were measured with TOSRA(Test of Science-Related Attitudes) Which was developed by Fraser, B.J.. This survey were male 963 elementary school students of $4^{th}-6^{th}$ in Seoul and Kyeong gi Province as an object. The major findings of the study are as follows: 1. The overall attitudes toward science of measured elementary school students shows a positive tendency. 2. Male students exhibited significantly(p<0.001)more positive attitudes toward science than females. 3. There were no differences(p<0.05) between the students in Seoul and Kyeong gi Province in attitudes toward science. 4. Attitudes toward science of elementary school students in this population steadily declined from grade four to grade six. The sharpest decline was seen at grade six.

  • Past studies conducted on the students' verbal participation both in and out of class have explored and identified variables affecting the process of learning to speak English. However, little is known about the causes and effects of these variables. A survey form developed from a previous study was administered to 468 university students taking English conversation classes from native speakers of English. To better understand the causes and effects of speaking barriers, path analysis was administered as the main tool of investigation. The results of the study indicate that familiarities toward NS (Native Speaker) teachers, learner faithfulness, che-myon, NS teachers' classroom management skills, and NS teacher's trustworthiness account for 50.72% of speaking grades. These factors are causally related to learner attitudes. However, with regard to speaking grades, all of the above factors except che-myon are also causally related with each other. Therefore, it was concluded that learner attitudes can be improved by minimizing che-myon, however, che-myon itself cannot be a predictor of speaking grades. To validate the findings of the study, related research work is discussed and implications are provided.

  • The purpose of the present study is to qualitatively explore childcare teachers' attitudes toward gender sensitivity education for early childhood. The study recruited 227 teachers and directors working in childcare centers around the Seoul metropolitan areas. The study utilised the interpretive science paradigm and visual methods for data collection, and thematic analysis examined the attitudes of 227 participants. Gender sensitivity education include gender flexibility and sexual orientation. Most participants showed positive attitudes toward the gender flexibility education. They regarded the gender flexibility as a topic socially accepted, suitable for early childhood development, and easy to implement. They also believed that the gender flexibility education would encourage the individuality of children. On the other hand, 53.3% of participants showed negative attitudes toward tolerance education regarding sexual orientation. Opponents expressed that an issue of sexual orientation did not reach a social consensus. They also worried that the topic is not developmentally appropriate for early childhood, and difficult to teach young children because of insufficient educational materials. At the same time, 40.5% of participants expected Korean society would embrace diverse sexual orientations in the future, and early childhood education would help young children adapted to changing contexts. This study discussed theoretical concepts of gender sensitivity, listened to childcare teachers' voices about education of gender flexibility and sexual orientation, and suggested more appropriate gender sensitivity education for early childhood.
