The major interest of general mobile robot is making a route and following a maked route. But, In the case of robot that is in need of movement of partial high speed, the condition of dynamic limitation is exist, and in these conditions, it demands controlling against movements we want. In this paper, in respect of the following a route at the situation that don't have the environmental map, that is, unknown environments, to prevent the slide of moving robot or the overturn that can happen for it moves fast, we organize the dynamic condition of limitation using the fuzzy logic, and we obtain more safe and fast route tracing ability by changing the standard velocity. Especially, by modeling the line tracing mobile robot, we design the tracing controller against a realtime changing target, and using the fuzzy optimized velocity limitation controller, we confirm that our robot shows its stable tracing ability by limiting its velocity intelligently against the continuously changing line.

To detect the ground moving target, forward-looking SAR images obtained from the FMCW radar can be exploited. However, the quality of the SAR image is deteriorated due to the turbulence or fluctuation because of the flight path condition during the missile movement. We herein propose an entropy-minimizing autofocus method to compensate the motion error of forward-looking SAR. In particular, owing to the geometry of the forward-looking SAR, the motion error affects the SAR image in the two-dimensional (2D) form (azimuth and time axis). Therefore, we suggest a 2D autofocus method for the motion compensation.
In a four-wheel independent drive platform, four wheels and motors are connected directly, and the rotation of the motors generates the power of the platform. It uses a skid steering system that steers based on the difference in rotational power between wheel motors. The platform can control the speed of each wheel individually and has excellent mobility on dirt roads. However, the difficulty of the straight-running is caused due to torque distribution variation in each wheel's motor, and the direction of rotation of the wheel, and moving direction of the platform, and the difference of the platform's target direction. This paper describes an algorithm to detect the slip generated on each wheel when a four-wheel independent drive platform is traveling in a harsh environment. When the slip is detected, a compensation control algorithm is activated to compensate the torque of the motor mounted on the platform to improve the trajectory tracking performance of the platform. The four-wheel independent drive platform developed for this study verified the algorithm. The wheel slip detection and the compensation control algorithm of the platform are expected to improve the stability of trajectory tracking.
This paper investigates the constant-level luffing and time optimal control of jib cranes. The constant-level luffing, which is the sustainment of the load at a constant height during luffing, is achieved by analyzing the kinematic relationship between the angular displacement of a boom and that of the main hoist motor of a jib crane. Under the assumption that the main body of the crane does not rotate, the equations of motion of the boom are derived using Newton's Second Law. The dynamic equations for the crane system are highly nonlinear; therefore, they are linearized under the small angular motion of the load to apply linear control theory. This paper investigates the time optimal control from the perspective of no-sway at a target point. A stepped velocity pattern is used to design the moving path of the jib crane. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the time optimal control, in terms of anti-sway motion of the load, while luffing the crane.
This paper presents a new method for construction of a static obstacle map. A static obstacle is important since it is utilized to path planning and decision. Several established approaches generate static obstacle map by grid method and counting algorithm. However, these approaches are occasionally ineffective since the density of LiDAR layer is low. Our approach solved this problem by applying probability theory. First, we converted all LiDAR point to Gaussian distribution to considers an uncertainty of LiDAR point. This Gaussian distribution represents likelihood of obstacle. Second, we modeled dynamic transition of a static obstacle map by adopting the Hidden Markov Model. Due to the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle in relation to the conditions of the next stage only, a more accurate map of the obstacles can be obtained using the Hidden Markov Model. Experimental data obtained from test driving demonstrates that our approach is suitable for mapping static obstacles. In addition, this result shows that our algorithm has an advantage in estimating not only static obstacles but also dynamic characteristics of moving target such as driving vehicles.
Recently, the target of navigation system is moving from the cars to pedestrians. Many researches are in progress regarding pedestrian navigation, However, in most cases, the path-finding is based on the existing node/link network model. which is widely used for the car navigation, and thus showing its limitation. The reasons arc that a) unlike with a car, the paths that pedestrians take arc not limited to the roads, b) pedestrians an~ not restricted in rotation or direction, and c) they can freely move within the walkable space. No alternatives have been offered yet, especially for openspaces such as a park or square. Therefore, in this research, we suggested appropriate methods to create paths that can be used in pedestrian navigation service, by using motion-planning technology, which is used in the field of robotics for planning the motion of an object, and conducted tests for their applicability.

In this paper, an automatic mobile robot system for a intelligent path planning using the detection scheme of the spatial coordinates based on stereo camera is proposed. In the proposed system, face area of a moving person is detected from a left image among the stereo image pairs by using the YCbCr color model and its center coordinates are computed by using the centroid method and then using these data, the stereo camera embedded on the mobile robot can be controlled for tracking the moving target in real-time. Moreover, using the disparity map obtained from the left and right images captured by the tracking-controlled stereo camera system and the perspective transformation between a 3-D scene and an image plane, depth information can be detected. Finally, based-on the analysis of these calculated coordinates, a mobile robot system is derived as a intelligent path planning and a estimation. From some experiments on robot driving with 240 frames of the stereo images, it is analyzed that error ratio between the calculated and measured values of the distance between the mobile robot and the objects, and relative distance between the other objects is found to be very low value of $2.19\%$ and $1.52\%$ on average, respectably.

An FM radio based PCL system is a passive radar technique for detecting the multiple moving targets from FM radio signals and tracking the trajectories of the targets by calculating the cross-correlation function of direct-path signal and target echo signals. However, the interference signals are received from a surveillance channel, which is designed to receive the target echo signals. Because of this problem, the target echo signals are masked by the strong interference signals and this makes it difficult to detect the true targets from the cross-correlation function. Adaptive filters are known as effective methods for suppressing the interference signals but there is a problem to present their accurate performances in the PCL system because many literatures used the cross-correlation function and the ratio of input and output power as a measure of the performance analysis. In this paper, a performance analysis method is proposed to evaluate the performance of interference cancellation algorithms. By using the property that each component of the filter weight vector is adjusted to suppress the specific interference signal, a performance measure of the interference signal suppression is defined by a function of adaptive filter weights. Based on the proposed method, we compare the performance of the adaptive filters used in the PCL system. Simulation results show that the proposed method can be very effective for evaluating the performance of interference cancellation algorithms.

The problem of determining a smooth and collision-free path with maximum possible speed for a Mobile Robot (MR) which is chasing a moving target in a dynamic environment is addressed in this paper. Genetic Network Programming with Reinforcement Learning (GNP-RL) has several important features over other evolutionary algorithms such as it combines offline and online learning on the one hand, and it combines diversified and intensified search on the other hand, but it was used in solving the problem of MR navigation in static environment only. This paper presents GNP-RL based on predicting collision positions as a first attempt to apply it for MR navigation in dynamic environment. The combination between features of the proposed collision prediction and that of GNP-RL provides safe navigation (effective obstacle avoidance) in dynamic environment, smooth movement, and reducing the obstacle avoidance latency time. Simulation in dynamic environment is used to evaluate the performance of collision prediction based GNP-RL compared with that of two state-of-the art navigation approaches, namely, Q-Learning (QL) and Artificial Potential Field (APF). The simulation results show that the proposed GNP-RL outperforms both QL and APF in terms of smooth movement and safer navigation. In addition, it outperforms APF in terms of preserving maximum possible speed during obstacle avoidance.
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate visual feedback effects and human performance in the foot mouse control. Background: Generally, computer mouse tasks are controlled by visual feedback. In order to understand the characteristics of a foot mouse control, it is important to investigate the patterns of visual feedback involved in foot-mouse control tasks. Human performance of foot mouse control is also an important factor to understand the foot mouse control. Method: Three types of mouse control were determined to investigate visual feedback effects and human performance in the foot mouse control. Visual feedback effects in the foot mouse control were compared with those of a typical hand mouse. The cursor movement speed and mental workload were measured in the three types of tasks and two types of mouses. Results: Mouse control tasks with an element of homing-in to the target were more quickly performed by the hand mouse than the foot mouse. Mental workload was also higher in the foot mouse than the hand mouse. However, in the steering movement, human performance of the foot mouse control was not lower than that of the hand mouse control. Visual feedback in the foot mouse control was less required than in the hand mouse control. Conclusion: The foot mouse was not efficient in the most mouse control tasks, compared to the hand mouse. However, the foot mouse was efficient in the steering movement, moving a cursor within a path with lateral constraints. Application: The results of this study might help to develop the foot mouse.
