As far as the universities in south Korea are concerned, they have to meet the need of the situation as the number of the incoming students are decreasing because of the population-reducing in south Korea. The Ministry of Education Science and Technology is enforcing the restructuring of an universities by evaluating all the universities in Korea by using some indices (employment rate, supplement rate of students etc.). Most of the universities in Korea are widely permitting the changes of the major study as a method to improve the 'supplement rate of students' among some measures. These changes of major study (moving in and moving out) can give rise to difficulties in managing an university because there might be the departments with a small number of students as they moving out from low level departments to high level ones. Moreover, as raising the change rate of the major study, there is no loss from the university's point of view but a department could be in a difficult situation. The purpose of this study is to grasp the characteristics for changing major study by a general statistical analysis and graphs produced by a social network analysis with the D university's case. The results of this study are as follows; (a) category is from the engineering to humanity-society, (b) entrance level is from low to high, and (c) employment rate is from low to high as well.
The purpose of this survey was to investigate the prevalence of obesity, eating habits and life styles of children. This survey was carried out anthropometry and questionnaires in 180 male and 141 female students of fifth-grade at Dongmak elementary school. The results are summarized as follows : 1)18.2% of the male and 19.3% of female students were obese. Underweight group was 10.5% of the male and 15.0% of the female students. 2) Average height of male and female students were 142.0㎝, 144.0㎝ and weight of those were 35.8㎏ and 37.1㎏ respectively. The height and skinfold thickness of the triceps in female students were significantly higher than those of male students and body fat content in female students was significantly lower than that of male students. There was no difference in BMI, RW and RI between male and female students. The average BMI, RW, RI were 17.7, 25.4, 124.0, respectively. 3) The student's height was positively related to parent's height and moth's weight. There were significantly positive correlation between mother's and subject's weight. BMI, RW and RI were positively related to parent's BMI. 4) 78.3% of male and 51.8% of female students had prejudice for special food, and 45.5% of male and 34.5% of female students had an overeating habit. Male students had significanthy higher rate than female in both cases. Average eating time per meal was 18.9 minutes for male and 21.0 minutes for female students. Experience for taking nutrient supplement in male student was more than that in female. Obese group had prejudice for special food, overeating habit and rapid eating rate more than any other groups. The prevalence of obesity among the children is gradually increasing. Therefore, in order to prevent progress into adulthood obesity, nutrition education including the right perception for obesity and eating behavior modification was needed.
The purposes of this study were to classify university students by their lifestyle and to investigate the relationships between lifestyle and coffee satisfaction. The survey had been undertaken for 360 Korean and Chinese university students in Daejeon from November to December 2009. A total of 242 usable questionnaires were received with 67.2% response rate. The statistical analysis was performed by the SPSS 18.0 package program. Lifestyles of subjects, based on AIO (Activities, Interests, Opinions) method and factor analysis, were segmented into 2 groups of "outgoing activity" (n = 137) and "introverted devotion" (n = 105). "Outgoing activity" group exhibited highly health-oriented (p < 0.001) and convenience-oriented (p < 0.001) characteristics, but "introverted devotion" group showed highly goal-oriented (p < 0.01) and safety-oriented (p < 0.01) features. Comparing to "introverted devotion" group, "outgoing activity" group showed higher intake of coffee (p < 0.01) and more expense for beverage (p < 0.01). Three factors were extracted from 15 coffee quality attributes by factor analysis; "fundamentals", "supplement" and "inducement". These factors were positively correlated with coffee satisfaction according to lifestyle groups (p < 0.01). For "outgoing activity" group, 'fundamentals' was independent factor for satisfaction on coffee in coffee house (${\beta}$ = 0.268, p < 0.05) and canned or bottled coffee (${\beta}$ = 0.314, p < 0.01), and "supplement" was independent factor for satisfaction on coffee in vending machine (${\beta}$ = 0.235, p < 0.05). For "introverted devotion" group, "inducement" was independent factor for satisfaction on coffee in vending machine (${\beta}$ = 0.238, p < 0.001). These results provide an understanding for lifestyles of coffee consumers and give an insight into differentiated marketing plans for coffee industry.

This study analyzed teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) regarding the pedagogical aspect of the instruction of ratio and rate in order to look into teachers' problems during the process of teaching ratio and rate. This study aims to clarify problems in teachers' PCK and promote the consideration of the materialization of an effective and practical class in teaching ratio and rate by identifying the improvements based on problems indicated in PCK. We subdivided teachers' PCK into four areas: mathematical content knowledge, teaching method and evaluation knowledge, understanding knowledge about students' learning, and class situation knowledge. The conclusion of this study based on analysis of the results is as follows. First, in the 'mathematical content knowledge' aspect of PCK, teachers need to understand the concept of ratio from the perspective of multiplicative comparison of two quantities, and the concept of rate based on understanding of two quantities that are related proportionally. Also, teachers need to introduce ratio and rate by providing students with real-life context, differentiate ratios from fractions, and teach the usefulness of percentage in real life. Second, in the 'teaching method and evaluation knowledge' aspect of PCK, teachers need to establish teaching goals about the students' comprehension of the concept of ratio and rate and need to operate performance evaluation of the students' understanding of ratio and rate. Also, teachers need to improve their teaching methods such as discovery learning, research study and activity oriented methods. Third, in the 'understanding knowledge about students' learning' aspect of PCK, teachers need to diversify their teaching methods for correcting errors by suggesting activities to explore students' own errors rather than using explanation oriented correction. Also, teachers need to reflect students' affective aspects in mathematics class. Fourth, in the 'class situation knowledge' aspect of PCK, teachers need to supplement textbook activities with independent consciousness and need to diversify the form of class groups according to the character of the activities.

This study was conducted to investigate the actual conditions of vitamin supplement usage, the importance of their agents for health management, and the distribution of basic data for their correct consumption. For a period of one month 2003, the study was conducted based on questionnaires to the parents of students in both a middle school and a high school, and the personnel of K Company at random. The material used the survey sheets by setting up the previous investigation. The collected data analyzed the frequency and percentage of the following items: General demographic characteristics of consumers; the supplements taking; the reasons for taking them; the kinds of supplements taken; the media used for distributing data on their use; the potential use in the future, etc. According to the survey, the number of people who were taking supplements was higher than the number of people who weren’t taking them. Multi-vitamins were mostly consumed. The rate of supplements consume was high in people of a higher income bracket, had the time to exercise and to enjoy physical recreation. Most of the consumers who were taking the supplements said they did it to maintain their health and to recover from the fatigue. Those who weren’t taking them said they had enough vitamins from eating the appropriate food, and they were also concerned about the effectiveness of taking the supplements. The majority of useful information or advice for purchasing vitamins came from doctors, medical experts, relatives, and various media sources such as TV, newspapers, and magazines.

The purpose of this study was to investigate intake of protein supplements by university students majoring in physical education. Intake experience rate, reasons for intake, purchasing place, effectiveness, satisfaction level, and side effects were analyzed using a questionnaire. Of 476 students, those who consumed protein supplements were 198 (41.6%). Male's intake experience rate was significantly higher than that of females, and members of health-related clubs also consumed more protein than non-members. The main purchasing place was internet shopping malls, and users obtained information from their friends or upperclassmen. The most frequently consumed protein supplement was 'WPH', and the most frequent reason for intake was 'building muscle or maintaining body shape'. For effectiveness, 'normal' was 49.0% and 'effectiveness' was 33.3%. For satisfaction, 'satisfaction' was 45.5% and 'normal' was 43.4%. The rate of side effects was 44.9%, and digestive issues such as diarrhea and indigestion were observed with high frequency. The results of this study show that education is needed for nutritional knowledge, adequate intake, and side effects of protein supplements.

Universities are looking for various methods to enhance educational competence level suitable for the rapidly changing social environment. This study suggests a method to promote academic and educational achievements by reducing drop-out rate from their majors through implementation of pre-survey of satisfaction that revised and complemented survey items. To supplement the CQI method implemented after a general satisfaction survey, a pre-survey of satisfaction was carried out. To consolidate students' competences, this study made prediction and analysis of data with more importance possible using the Random Forest of the machine learning technique that can be applied to AI Medici platform, whose design is underway. By pre-processing the pre-survey of satisfaction, the students information enrolled in classes were defined as an explanatory variable, and they were classified, and a model was created and learning was conducted. For the experimental environment, the algorithms and sklearn library related in Jupyter notebook 3.7.7, Python 3.7 were used together. This study carried out a comparative analysis of change in educational satisfaction survey, carried out after classes, and trends in the drop-out students by reflecting the results of the suggested method in the classes.

As the university's academic management was not carried out smoothly due to COVID-19, and most of them were conducted as non-face-to-face classes, students' dropout is steadily increasing. In this study focus group interviews were conducted to analyze physics students and professors' recognition of the COVID-19 non-face-to-face class environment. Based on the results, the implications of non-face-to-face classes for physics education were presented. Physics students described their feelings about un-tact teaching as 'the class in which the body is comfortable but the mind is uncomfortable', 'a person who is smarter than me seems to explain a book, reading it' and 'a short clip lecture which may be comfortable but cause losses to me', while the professors also described them as 'a fully transformed class system' and 'a online class putting much burden on me'. Regarding school dropout, students said that the concerns about dropout during non-face-to-face classes were deepened about transfer or transfer. The professors said that the department atmosphere had lost vitality due to the increase in non-face-to-face classes and academic dropouts, and had a lot of worries because of the recruitment rate and external university evaluation. The implications of the COVID-19 non-face-to-face class situation for physics education suggest that it is required to strengthen the interaction between professors and students, finding ways to enhance the sense of reality to supplement laboratory classes and giving opportunities to professors to share their pedagogical contents knowledge in physics.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to provide the nutritional education data of the fruit and vegetable eating habits and dietary fiber intake of male and female high school students in the Daegu area. Methods: A survey was conducted on 300 male/female students from four general high schools in the City of Daegu, and the survey included questions ongeneral characteristics, dietary habits, eating behavior patterns and dietary intake. A 24-hour recall method was used for the dietary intake, and the surveyed dietary intake information was analyzed using the Computer Aided Nutritional analysis program (CAN 3.0)--dietary fiber intake, in particular. The data was analyzed using the SPSS window 12.0 program. Results: The average ages of boys and girls were 16.8- and 15.6-years old, respectively. A classification based on BMI showed the following: the low-weight student group was comprised of 10.3% boys and 31.6% girls; the normal-weight group 68.4% boys and 67.5% girls; and the overweight group 21.3% boys and 0.9% girls, whereby showing a significant difference between boys and girls. Vegetable intake showed the following: the ratio of the response of 'taking it once a day' was more than 70%, which showed the low frequency of fruit intake; the ratio of 'taking it more than five times a week' was 53.0% for boys and 68.4% for girls, which showed a higher intake frequency for girls over boys; and the daily dietary fiber per 1,000kcal was 7.1g for boys and 8.2g for girls, whereby showing a significant difference between boys and girls. The meals that contributed most to dietary fiber intake were the school meals, whereas the dietary fiber intake rate through breakfast was the lowest among the three daily meals. The food groups that contributed to dietary fiber intake were vegetable, grains and flavoring matters for boys and vegetable, grains and fruits for girls. Conclusions: In order to increase the daily dietary intake for growing adolescents, who are in an important stage for building the foundation of health, it's recommended that, in addition to the supplement for insufficient dietary fiber through a regular breakfast consisting of high dietary fiber content foods, nutrition-related education about the effects of dietary fiber on the human body be conducted.
Physical experiment through MBL has been used in many schools for a long time since students can check the experiment results immediately and conduct the experiment easily. However, conducting the experiment, not knowing the principle of the device or simply concentrating on the derived data has been raised as the problem of MBL experiment. To supplement this problem, this study measured the acceleration of gravity with the picket fence method, which is often used in MBL experiment, utilizing Arduino, calculated the error rate through a comparison to the actual acceleration of gravity and discussed the educational application of the experiment to measure it. As a result of the experiment, the error rate between the acceleration of gravity calculated by the experiment and the actual acceleration of gravity was about 1%, so it turned out that relatively accurate measurements were possible. Also, the sample mean of the experimental value was included in the confidence interval of 95%, so it could be concluded that it was a significant experiment. In addition, this study showed the possibility of the educational application of the experiment to measure it through the following: It can supplement the structural disadvantages of MBL; it can consider the interaction between Physics and Math; it is possible to converge with information course in STEAM education; and it is inexpensive to be equipped with the equipment. Hopefully, the physical experiment utilizing Arduino will further be revitalized in science gifted education based on this study.
