Electronic equipment has been applied to virtually every area associated with commercial, industrial, and military applications. Specifically, electronics have been incorporated into avionics components installed in aircraft. This equipment is exposed to dynamic loads such as vibration, shock, and acceleration. Especially, avionics components installed in a helicopter are subjected to simultaneous sine and random base excitations. These are denoted as sine on random vibrations according to MIL-STD-810F, Method 514.5. In the past, isolators have been applied to avionics components to reduce vibration and shock. However, an isolator applied to an avionics component installed in a helicopter can amplify the vibration magnitude, and damage the chassis, circuit card assembly, and the isolator itself via resonance at low-frequency sinusoidal vibrations. The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic characteristics of an avionics component installed in a helicopter and the structural dynamic modification of its tray plate without an isolator using both a finite element analysis and experiments. The structure is optimized by dynamic loads that are selected by comparing the vibration, shock, and acceleration loads using vibration and shock response spectra. A finite element model(FEM) was constructed using a simplified geometry and valid element types that reflect the dynamic characteristics. The FEM was verified by an experimental modal analysis. Design parameters were extracted and selected to modify the structural dynamics using topology optimization, and design of experiments(DOE). A prototype of a modified model was constructed and its feasibility was evaluated using an FEM and a performance test.

To evaluate the vertical loads on railway bridges, conventional load tests are typically conducted. However, these tests often entail significant costs and procedural challenges. Railway conditions involve nearly identical load profiles due to standardized rail systems, which may appear straightforward in terms of load conditions. Nevertheless, this study aims to validate load tests conducted under operational train conditions by comparing the results with those obtained from conventional load tests. Additionally, static and dynamic structural behaviors are extracted from the measurement data for evaluation. To ensure the reliability of load testing, this research demonstrates feasibility through comparisons of existing measurement data with sensor attachment locations, train speeds, responses between different rail lines, tendency analysis, selection of impact coefficients, and analysis of natural frequencies. This study applies to the Dongho Railway Bridge and verifies the applicability of the proposed method. Ten operational trains and 44 sensors were deployed on the bridge to measure deformations and deflections during load test intervals, which were then compared with theoretical values. The analysis results indicate good symmetry and overlap of loads, as well as a favorable comparison between static and dynamic load test results. The maximum measured impact coefficient (0.092) was found to be lower than the theoretical impact coefficient (0.327), and the impact influence from live loads was deemed acceptable. The measured natural frequencies approximated the theoretical values, with an average of 2.393Hz compared to the calculated value of 2.415Hz. Based on these results, this paper demonstrates that for evaluating vertical loads, it is possible to measure deformations and deflections of truss railway bridges through load tests under operational train conditions without traffic control, enabling the calculation of response factors for stress adjustments.
This research had intended to find out regarding the present influences of the Smart Work on the intention to use continuously with the staff members working in the small- and medium-sized enterprises as the subject. And, finally, it had intended to find out about the Smart Work environments of the IT corporations and the non-IT corporations. For this research, the questionnaire survey data were collected from the staff members working at the small- and medium-sized enterprises. Through the questionnaire survey data that were collected, an empirical analysis was carried out. And, through the reliability analysis, the feasibility analysis, the discriminatory feasibility analysis, and the inspection of the degree of suitableness of the structural equation model, finally, the research model was verified and, finally, a difference analysis of the IT corporations and the non-IT corporations was carried out. Regarding the results of the analysis of the research, it appeared that the factors of the job efficiency and the job autonomy of the special characteristics of the job had the positive influences on the usefulness and the job satisfaction, which were the parameters and which were perceived. And it appeared that the time flexibility of the job form could not have any influences on the usefulness and the job satisfaction, which were the parameters and which were perceived. And it appeared that the spatial flexibility had the influences on the job satisfaction only. The perceived usefulness, which was a parameter, had the positive influences on the job satisfaction and the intention to use continuously. And, finally, the job satisfaction had the positive influences on the intention to use continuously. And it appeared that there were the differences, too, between the IT corporations and the non-IT corporations. It is thought that, through the results of this research and through the Smart Work environment, the positive influences on the workers and the organizations could be induced and that a better working environment than previously can be provided to the workers to fit the special characteristics of the corporations.
With the scientists and the technicians of the small- and medium-sized enterprises who have been subscribing to the pension service as the subjects, this research took a look at the influences on the intention to continuously subscribe to the pension service and, finally, took a look at the differences between the subscribers of the safety type and the profit type which have been provided by the pension service. Through the questionnaire survey, which collected the data, an actual proof analysis was carried out. Through the statistical program, the degree of the reliability analysis and the feasibility analysis were carried out. And the degree of the suitability of the structural equation model was tested. And, finally, through the research model, the hypothesis was verified and the differences between the groups were analyzed. It appeared that the factors of the reliability and the responsiveness of the service quality factor have the positive influence on the perceived value, which is a parameter. And it appeared that the materiality and the perceptual openness factors cannot have any influence. And the stability and the usefulness, which are the attributed factors of the pension service, had the positive influences on the perceived value. Finally, it appeared that the perceived value of the pension service has a positive influence on the intention to subscribe continuously. Through the results of this research, it can contribute to the invigoration of the pension service. And it is thought that a pension service which is better than the preexistent pension service can be provided.
A bi-level damage detection algorithm that utilizes the dynamic responses of the structure as input and neural network (NN) as pattern classifier is presented. Signal anomaly index (SAI) is proposed to express the amount of changes in the shape of frequency response functions (FRF) or strain frequency response function (SFRF). SAI is calculated using the acceleration and dynamic strain responses acquired from intact and damaged states of the structure. In a bi-level damage identification algorithm, the presence of damage is first identified from the magnitude of the SAI value, then the location of the damage is identified using the pattern recognition capability of NN. The proposed algorithm is applied to an experimental model bridge to demonstrate the feasibility of the algorithm. Numerically simulated signals are used for training the NN, and experimentally-acquired signals are used to test the NN. The results of this example application suggest that the SAI-based pattern recognition approach may be applied to the structural health monitoring system for a real bridge.

Concrete recycling is becoming mandatory rather selective due to depletion of constructional materials and increase of concrete waste. Studies on recycling concrete are conducted in various point of view for long time. However, standard or guideline of many countries for the application of recycled aggregate concrete(RAC) has restrictions such as low replacement rate of coarse aggregate and no fine aggregate allowed due to inferior material properties of recycled aggregate. This study intends to figure out the feasibility of casting natural aggregate concrete(NAC) and RAC separately in a structural member. In making RAC, replacement rate of coarse aggregate was 50, 100% in RAC and treatment of interface of two concretes is introduced. RAC treatment of recycled aggregate or inclusion of additives was not done as it can increase embodied energy of concrete work. Double-shear test with uniformly distributed loading was adopted to evaluate shear strength at the interface of two concretes. After curing it was hard to distinguish interface of two concretes. Experimental result revealed that specimen with higher replacement rate showed higher shear-to-compressive strength ratio, which is possibly attributed to coarse aggregate size and roughness of sheared section. Further study on the effect of various parameters is required and subsequent research activity is on-going.

Liquid silicon infiltration, which is one of the methods of producing fiber reinforced ceramic composites, has several advantages such as low fabrication cost and good shape formability. In order to confirm LSI process feasibility of SiC fiber, $SiC_f/SiC$ composites were fabricated using three types of SiC fibers (Tyranno SA, LoxM, Tyranno S) which have different crystallinity and oxygen content. Composites that were fabricated with LSI process were well densified by less than 2% of porosity, but showed an obvious difference in 3-point bending strength according to crystallinity and oxygen content. When composites in LSI process was exposed to a high temperature, crystallization and micro structural changes were occurred in amorphous SiOC phase in SiC fiber. Fiber shrinkage also observed during LSI process that caused from reaction in fiber and between fiber and matrix. These were confirmed with changes of process temperature by SEM, XRD and TEM analysis.
102 ESTs (Expressed Sequence Tags) were obtained by sequencing clones from a library of rainbow trout kidney cDNAs. Of the sequences generated, 55.8% of the ESTs were represented by 37 known genes. The 45 clones of unknown gene products potentially represent 40 novel genes. The genes involved in structural function (14.5%) and transcription/translation (11.6%) account for the major gene expression activities in the kidney Microarray experiment was conducted to compare gene expression of the unique ESTs in young and adult rainbow trout kidneys. While mitochondrion, cytochrome b, rho G, spastin protein, and three unknown genes were down-regulated in the mature fish kidney, calponin 1, calcium binding protein, histone deacetylase 1, and an unknown gene were up-regulated in the mature fish kidney. This research demonstrates the feasibility and power of functional genomics in rainbow trout.

The beam-column connection is the critical design section of general steel frame structures owing to the behavioral characteristics of the structural system. As most members of a frame structure are composed of rolled section beams, the cross-section of the beam members is governed by the negative bending moment near beam-column connections. Such a design concept leaves a redundant load-carrying capacity at the positive bending regions of the beam members leading to design inefficiency. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to redistribute the beam end moments and reduce the stresses at the beam-column connections for a more efficient design of steel frame structures. In this study, reaction-moment prestressing method (RMPM) was proposed for the innovative design and construction of steel frame structures. The RMPM is a prestressing method utilizing the elastic bending deformation of a beam member induced by temporary prestressing for the distribution of a relatively large bending moment to other sections for the efficient use of the beam section. By the application of the RMPM, the negative bending moment at the beam-column connections can be significantly reduced, ultimately leading to possible use of smaller beam sections. Through a series of model tests and numerical analyses of steel frame structures, the moment distributing effect and feasibility of the RMPM was verified.

The purpose of this study is to verify the feasibility of a model, based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), that predicts the intention of a problem gambler to abstain from gambling. In order to investigate attitudes toward gambling abstinence, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and intentions to abstain from gambling, we surveyed 100 problem gamblers who used community-based service centers. Furthermore, we analyzed by the structural equation model whether attitude toward gambling abstinence, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control can influence the intention to abstain from gambling. The analysis of the study model revealed that the most powerful predictor of the gambling abstinence intention is perceived behavior control, followed by a positive attitude toward gambling abstinence. In contrast, subjective norms did not show a significant influence on intentions for gambling abstinence. Based on these results, we propose cognitive-behavioral interventions to improve attitudes and self-efficacy toward gambling abstinence in order to help problem gamblers recover. In other words, continuous support and coping-skills training are needed to reinforce the belief that people can recover from a gambling problem, and information and education on problem gambling to improve positive attitudes can also be helpful. Therefore, it is possible to consider not only the treatment of gambling problems, but also to provide preventive interventions centering on the addiction management institution.
