In order ot study the influence of a circular inclusion on a stress field near a crack tip, mutual interference of a slant crack and the circular inclusion is analyzed of a bimaterial inclusion. As the crack emanates at the equivalent slant crack angle the correction factors FⅠ and FⅡ for the inclusion wit small Young's modulus were found to decrease as the inclusion radius increased. The correction factors for inclusion with large Young's modulus increase as the inclusion radius increases at the equivalent radius of the inclusion, the correction factors decrease as the slant crack angle increases for the aspect ratio $\frac{c}{W}$ = 0.1 irrespective of the Young's modulus. For $\frac{c}{W}$ greater than 0.2, they increase as the slant crack angle increases. There is no influence of stress mutual interfce after crack emanates beyond the inclusion radius.
The purpose of this study is to identify residential stress and to analyse the factors affect on it, based on the comprehensive theoretical model. For this purpose, 822 housewives were collected from the households in Seoul and Chonju-City. The main results obtained are as follows. 1. A significant proportion of the urban households surveyed are observed to suffer from residential stressors. The components of residential stressors are housing facilities, family living space, social interaction with the neighborhoods, physical condition of house. 2. Among the factors that affect residential stress the most important household environment factors are, the level of family controllability, which is followed by the family adaptation ability, the size of living space, the level of life satisfaction, and the type of housing tenure. The results of this study implies that residential stress is associated with not only residential size but also the level of housing facilities and social interaction. Overall upgrading of residential quality requires efficient allocation of living space and facilities on the basis of resident's needs. For instance, homeowners want more living space and renters want higher level of residential facilities.
Purpose: To identify factors influencing adaptation to menopause in middle-aged women. Methods: Participants were 157 middle-aged women who visited Y gynecologic clinic in C city. Data were collected through interviews using the Korean CES-D (Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression), climacteric symptoms, life event stress, and menopausal adaptation scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS. Results: There were significant differences in adaptation to menopause according to monthly income, life satisfaction, and marital satisfaction. Adaptation to menopause had significantly negative correlations with depression, climacteric symptoms, and life event stress. Depression, monthly income, climacteric symptoms, and life event stress were verified as factors affecting adaptation to menopause. These factors accounted for 41.9% of adaptation to menopause. Conclusion: These variables should be considered in nursing interventions to improve adaptation to menopause in middle-aged women. Individuals should have the will to overcome menopause positively and actively.
Purpose : To investigate academic stress, coping method, and stress symptoms of high school students. Methods : Four hundreds-forty five high school students were studied from 14th July to 21th July, 2006. All subjects were in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of two high school in Seoul. The academic stress, coping method and stress symptoms were evaluated by questionnaire. Results : Male students showed more academic stress than female students. There was a significant difference in the academic stress according to sex. The 2nd grade students show the highest score of academic stress in the 3 factors(parents, teacher, and friend). Male students used more active coping methods to academic stress than female students. There was a significant difference in the coping methods to academic stress according to sex. There were positive correlations between the academic stress and the stress symptoms. Among the academic stress factors, parents and teacher factor influenced physiologic, psychologic, and behavioral symptom of stress symptoms. The friend factor influenced psychologic and behavioral symptom of stress symptoms. Conclusion : According to the study results, we must provide high school students more effective coping methods to academic stress at school environment.
The purpose of this study was practiced to investigate factors affecting dental hygienists's stress. The results executed by percentage and Likert scale (on a scale of 5) producing a mean standard deviation, T-test, one way ANOV A and person correlation coefficient using SPSS according to purpose of study. The results of study were as follows: 1. Mean point of stress from administration system dental hygienists's was 3.49 2. The dental hygienists's job place was significantly related to stress from duty volume (p=0.000), stress from personal relation(p=0.028) and stress from atmosphere of job(p=0.000). 3. The dental hygienists's career was significantly related to stress from safe job. 4. The dental hygienists's grade in rank was significantly related to stress from pride & self-conceit. 5. The number of colleague worked public health center was significantly related to stress from duty volume. 6. There is a significant relationship between stress from duty volume and stress from conflict of job(p〈0.01, r=0.280). There is a significant relationship between stress from dissatisfaction and stress from personal relationship(p〈0.001, r=0.396). There is a significant relationship between stress from pride & self-conceit and stress from personal relationship(p〈0.001, r=0.423). There is a significant relationship between stress from personal relationship and stress from atmosphere of job(p〈0.001, r=0.662).
Objectives : This descriptive study was conducted to examine the degree of stress, coping styles, communication with the mother and depression between headache-suffering children and headache-free children and to explore predicted factors for headache occurrence in children. Method : The subjects of this study consisted of 196 headache-free children and 107 headache-suffering children. They were 4th-6th graders of an elementary school in T city. The instruments in this study were David's stressor of children, Lazarus & Folkman's Stress Coping Style, PACI(Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory) by Barnes & Olsen and Kovac's CDI (Children's depression inventory). Data were collected from May 2 to July 16, 2004. Results : Total stress(t=-3.76, p=.035), school stress(t=-3.02, p=.001), mass media stress(t=-1.39, p=.029) and depression(t=7.62, p=.001) in headache-suffering children were significantly higher than those of headache-free children. Problem-oriented coping skills (t=1.23, p=.023), and the score of communication with the mother(t=2.32, p=.012) in headache-suffering children were lower than those of headache-free children. Logistic regression analysis (stepwise) showed that the most powerful predictor was stressors in school, followed by depression, stressors in mass media and communication with the mother. Conclusions: This study revealed that important factors such as the degree of school stress, depression, the degree of mass media stress, communication with the mother and problem-oriented coping skills should be controlled for reducing of headaches in children.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the levels of relocation stress syndrome (RSS) and influencing the stress experienced by Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients just after transfer to general wards. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 257 patients who transferred from the intensive care unit. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires from May to October, 2009. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and stepwise multiple linear regression with SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: The mean score for RSS was $17.80{\pm}9.16$. The factors predicting relocation stress syndrome were symptom experience, differences in scope and quality of care provided by ICU and ward nursing staffs, satisfaction with transfer process, length of stay in ICU and economic status, and these factors explained 40% of relocation stress syndrome (F=31.61, p<.001). Conclusion: By understanding the stress experienced by ICU patients, nurses are better able to provide psychological support and thus more holistic care to critically ill patients. Further research is needed to consider the impact of relocation stress syndrome on patients' health outcomes in the recovery trajectory.
Brassica napus is the third most important oilseed crop in the world; however, in Korea, it is greatly affected by cold stress, limiting seed growth and production. Plants have developed specific stress responses that are generally divided into three categories: cold-stress signaling, transcriptional/post-transcriptional regulation, and stress-response mechanisms. Large numbers of functional and regulatory proteins are involved in these processes when triggered by cold stress. Here, our objective was to investigate the different genetic factors involved in the cold-stress responses of B. napus. Consequently, we treated the Korean B. napus cultivar Naehan at the 4-week stage in cold chambers under different conditions, and RNA and cDNA were obtained. An in silico analysis included 80 cold-responsive genes downloaded from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database. Expression levels were assessed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, and 14 cold-triggered genes were identified under cold-stress conditions. The most significant genes encoded zinc-finger proteins (33.7%), followed by MYB transcription factors (7.5%). In the future, we will select genes appropriate for improving the cold tolerance of B. napus.

Objectives: This study aims to examine factors affecting depression of adolescents by using the data of the 17th Korean Youth Health Risk Behavior Survey(2020). Methods: The total sample was 54,848 students who are in middle or high school. In this study, sociodemographic variables, health behavior variables, and stress were input to examine the effect on depression. The data was analyzed with χ2-test and hierarchical regression by SPSS statistic program. Results: The results showed that depression was related to sociodemographic factors, health behaviors, and stress factors. In the result of hierarchical regression analysis, it was found that not only stress but also other variables had an effect on depression, which had a statistically significant effect. Conclusions: It was found that there are various causes such as environmental aspects and health behaviors that surround adolescents' depression rather than a single factor such as stress. Also, stress and depression are reciprocal rather than causal. Adolescents should be subdivided into groups such as grade, gender, or academic performance to relieve stress and depression at the same time through specific interventions.
