영주 근대역사문화거리의 근대건축물 유형분류 및 활용제안 (The Usage and Classification of Modern Architecture Types in the Modern Historical and Cultural Street of Yeongju)

  • In 2018, the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea introduced a new system that registers national cultural heritage in street and district units. Yeongju City's Modern Historical and Cultural District was selected as the first trial region. This grouping method breaks through conservation and utilization limitations of cultural heritage in individual building units. Thus, the issue is how will such historical and cultural spaces be grouped, conserved and managed. Hence, this study identifies the current situation of buildings in the Modern Historical and Cultural Street of Yeongju and conducts an experimental survey. Based on this, the types of modern architecture were classified, and the architectural groups were extracted and categorized to preserve and utilize the architecture. For these purposes, priority groups were determined by evaluating them based on five criteria: archetype, placeness, politicalness, typicality and originality. The modern architecture in the Modern Historical and Cultural Street of Yeongju have undergone many changes. The residential transformation of small and medium-sized cities during modern times can be understood as a process of settlement and nativization.

  • Considering the present outdoor environment of city landscapes, the improvement of well-formed street landscapes is a very important issue in Korea. At this point of time, it is very meaningful to understand the sign design and the planning condition of buildings and examine various problems about this and the possibilities for improvement. Thus the purpose of this study is to accumulate basic data to establish design guideline and visual factors for the sign design for useful environment. The conclusions of this study are as follows: to understand the factors of sign designs is through survey and analysis of building condition and city landscape. Planning factors for outdoor advertising design should be developed systematically and more fit to the street environment and designers in the aspect of control and guidance.

가로수관련 문제유형의 관계론적 해석 - 인천광역시 중앙공원길을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Inter-Relational Interpretation of Street Plant Issues - Focus on Central Park Road in Incheon Metropolitan City -)

  • Generally, trees lining the streets are the most easily accessible green areas in the city and constitute the smallest basic unit in the formation of the urban linear green axis. This study attempts to interpret issues related to city trees from a comprehensive and relational viewpoint. The site of this study is Central Park Street in front of Incheon Metropolitan City Hall. This street is representative of those in Incheon City. This study is an inter-relational interpretation of issues by measuring the vitality of these trees. The following are results of this study: First, the vitality of city trees is higher in those trees growing in natural ground than those growing in plant gratings. This observation can lead to budget savings and increased natural areas in the city. Also, if planter and multi-layering planting methods are introduced where damage to trees is predicted, variation to urban landscape can be achieved while linking to reinforced rearing foundation of street-side trees. Second, there is need for a holistic approach to caring for street-side trees regarding the damage caused by drastic pruning and strong street lights. The typical functions of these trees, like supplying freshness in summer, absorbing solar radiation, and controlling the urban micro-climate are closely related to the vitality of the trees. Accordingly, the function and ecology should be understood holistically, not separately. In this aspect, the functional and ecological use of the multi-layering planting method is effective in protecting pedestrians from vehicles as well. Third, the fallen leaves of monotonous rows of trees have different ecological and functional effects. Not only is the index of greenness in the urban setting increased, but there are also aesthetic and symbolic effects. Fourth, in spite of being the street along which Incheon Metropolitan City Hall, major administrative buildings and Central Park are located, this street does not have its own special identity to discriminate it from other streets. It fulfills only functional criteria based on uniformity. If there is no paradigm shift from today's street system based on vehicles, the role of landscape architecture will be very passive in regards to street-side trees, the minimum unit of urban green. Fifth, on this particular street, many trees were planted in December, which reflects a deficiency of short and long-term strategy, like a street-tree master plan. In this aspect, we still lack a mature culture concerning these trees as a basic unit in urban greenery. Furthermore, there needs to be cultural introspection concerning present administrative practices.

노상주차를 고려한 저층주거지 가로유형 분류에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Street Types in Low-rise Residential Areas Considering Street Parking)

  • 이 연구는 저층주거지 가로의 노상주차가 가로환경에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위한 사전 연구로서 실제 저층주거지를 대상으로 한 사례연구를 실시하였다. 우선, 이론적 배경과 선행연구 검토를 통해 저층주거지의 발생 배경과 변화 과정을 고찰하고, 주거지 가로환경에 영향을 주는 요소를 도출하였다. 다음으로, 선정기준을 바탕으로 송파구 방이2동의 주거지역을 사례 대상지로 선정하여 현장관찰을 실시한 후 가로, 건축물, 노상주차에 대한 현황분석을 실시하였다. 마지막으로, 앞서 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 저층주거지 가로의 위계와 건축물의 특성, 노상주차를 고려한 가로 유형화를 진행한 후 각 유형별 특성과 가로환경 개선을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다. 그 결과 노상주차는 사회적 합의가 이루어지기 어려운 주거지 가로에서 주로 발생하여 주거지 노상주차에 대한 대안 마련이 필요함을 시사하였다. 또한, 가로의 유형 분류 결과 동일한 지역의 이면도로라 할지라도 가로의 폭원과 저층부의 이용현황에 따라 다른 노상주차가 발생하고 그에 따른 해결방안이 필요함을 확인하였다.

가로경관에 환경조형물이 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 서울 테헤란로를 중심으로 (A Study on the Influence of Sculpture For Street Landscape Design -Focusing on Teheran-Ro in Seoul -)

  • 본 연구는 환경조형물이 건축물을 위한 단순한 장식 이상의 것이며 공공성을 가진 미술 작품으로서 가로환경의 디자인을 향상시키는 중요한 수단 중 하나라는 시각에서 출발하였다. 환경조형물은 설치장소와 밀접한 관계를 가지며 시각적 대상으로 주변 환경과 장소적 맥락을 가지는 요소로 파악 가능하다. 현장조사의 대상 지는 강남의 중심적인 업무지역이며 대규모 건축물이 집중되어 있는 테헤란로의 삼성역과 선릉역 사이 구간의 가로변에 위치한 28개 환경조형물에 대해 전수조사 하였다. 이들 환경조형물과 가로경관과의 상관관계에 따라 각각 건축물, 보행자, 조형물의 시점에서 분석하였으며, 가로 경관과의 상관성을 해석하였다. 그 결과 환경조형물이 가로경관과 주변 장소성에 영향을 미치기 위해서는 조형물 주변에 공간이 확보되어야 하며, 주변의 공간과 결합되는 장소에 설치되어야 한다는 사실을 파악하였다. 환경조형물은 가로의 경관을 조절할 수 있는 요소로 환경디자인의 수단으로 거시적 맥락에서 위치 및 설치방식, 재료 등에 대한 접근이 필요하다.

상주시 신도심의 복합건축물 실태조사를 통한 계획방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the planning approach through the Actual Research of Complex Buildings in the New Town of Sangju)

  • This study does try to proceed on the assumption that complex buildings can vitalize urban life of contemporary society from contemporary complexity and cases of past failure. The scope of investigation on complex buildings in Sangju built in 1990s' and 2000s' on this thesis is that site size is 400 square meter, total area 1500 square meter, and the number of stories on the ground below 5 floor. Method of investigation on twenty one buildings which have been built on new C.B.D. between the Namwon avenue and the Joongang 1th street in Sangju is through field investigation, field photographs, recordings and drawings on these buildings. Investigative contents have been divided and analysized into physical and functional elements in urban and architectural dimension. On the basis of these results, the future planning approach of complex buildings in medium and small cities has been considered into planning principles of convenience of building use and efficiency of site size, physical plans reflected on the traffic and pedestrian movings and the face of buildings, pedestrian resting space-creation like plazas and central gardens, regional character reflected with urban context, and separation and union of approached movings interrelated among the components.

읍 중심부 상가건물 디자인 개선방향에 관한 연구 - 거창읍 중앙로타리 주변을 대상으로 - (A Study on the Improvement of Commercial Building Design in the Central Area of a Small Town - Focused on the Central Rotary District in Geochang-eup -)

  • Townscape design is now considered to be the most important part in city management as a means to improve the life quality of its dwellers. Therefore, the recognition of local autonomous entities and local residents on townscape has been greatly changed. As a part of this effort, the plan to improve the townscape of the central rotary district in Geochang-eup has been examined in multilateral ways. In this plan, first, improvement for proper buildings was studied. Second, betterment for street furniture around the central rotary was considered. Third, making a landscape square around it was also investigated. Based on those considerations, this article intends to suggest directions for improving the commercial buildings of the central rotary district which has the greatest symbolicity in Geochang-eup. To achieve the goal, this paper conducted a survey to the dwellers beforehand in order to investigate their recognition on creating townscape for the central rotary district and collected their opinions on it. According to the result, among the elements of townscape in the shopping district around the rotary, the externals of the buildings such as signboards, color, and shape and the pleasantness part like the maintenance of telegraph poles occupied the highest portion on the street. And It is proposed 4 Alternative plans for the improvement of commercial building design in the central rotary district of geochang-eup.

도심의 휴식공간 및 시설물 디자인 사례연구 (The Case Study for the Designing of the Resting Places in the Urban and the Street Furniture)

  • 우리 나라의 도시 발전을 살펴보면 60년대 이후 개별적인 건물은 발전을 보였으나, 인간을 위한 휴식공간은 거의 도외시 되어왔다. 또한, 기계화·정보화가 심화되면서 사람들은 인간 소외를 느끼게 되는데, 도심지 네 휴식 공간은 새로운 공동체 형성의 기반이 될 수 있다 따라서, 현재 빌딩 술인 도심지 내에 인간이 중심이 되는 휴식 공간에 대한 연구와 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구는 새로운 휴식공간 및 가로시설물의 디자인 제안을 위해 문헌 고찰과 인터넷 검색방법으로 도시민들의 휴식공간 사용 행태와 가로 시설물을 조사하였다. 또한, 이를 바탕으로 인간·자연·환경 기술이 고려된 도심지 내의 휴식공간을 디자인 하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과물로 제시되는 도심지 내 휴식공간은 사용자가 공간 내 환경과 상호 작용할 수 있고, 사무에 지친 오피스 워커들을 실외로 유도할 수 있도록 계획되었다. 따라서, 도시민들은 도심지 내에서 뜻밖의 자연환경을 즐길 수 있고, 재충전의 기회를 가질 수 있다 이 공간은 진입유도공간, 휴식공간, 단체공간, 정보탐색 공간, 문화생활공간과 같이 다섯 영역으로 구성되었으며, 각 영역은 그 특성에 맞는 디자인 모티브를 가지고 있어, 가로시설물 및 조경계획은 통일성을 갖도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 특정 대지를 대상으로 하여 계획된 휴식공간은 하나의 프로토 타입으로써 대지 조건에 따라 가변적으로 재배치될 수 있다.

Computational analysis of pollutant dispersion in urban street canyons with tree planting influenced by building roof shapes

  • The objective of this study is to investigate numerically the effect of building roof shaps on wind flow and pollutant dispersion in a street canyon with one row of trees of pore volume, $P_{vol}=96%$. A three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model is used to evaluate air flow and pollutant dispersion within an urban street canyon using Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations and the Explicit Algebraic Reynolds Stress Models (EARSM) based on k-${\varepsilon}$ turbulence model to close the equation system. The numerical model is performed with ANSYS-CFX code. Vehicle emissions were simulated as double line sources along the street. The numerical model was validated by the wind tunnel experiment results. Having established this, the wind flow and pollutant dispersion in urban street canyons (with six roof shapes buildings) are simulated. The numerical simulation results agree reasonably with the wind tunnel data. The results obtained in this work, indicate that the flow in 3D domain is more complicated; this complexity is increased with the presence of trees and variability of the roof shapes. The results also indicated that the largest pollutant concentration level for two walls (leeward and windward wall) is observed with the upwind wedge-shaped roof. But the smallest pollutant concentration level is observed with the dome roof-shaped.

도시가로공간의 공공디자인 개선사업에 따른 열환경 개선 효과 평가 (Evaluation of Thermal Environment Improvement Effect from Public Design Improvement Project on the Urban Street Space)

  • In this study, thermal environment improvements throughout public design improvement project on the urban street space were compared and evaluated. Thermo-Render 3.0, 3D-CAD based thermal environment simulation program, had been used for thermal environment improvement evaluations. Followings are the results. First, clayey blocks which have low heat transfer rate and cool island effect by trees and roof gardens brought cooling effects for buildings and surface of streets. Seconds, MRT values showed low levels because of low radiant mulching materials. Thirds, roof gardens contributed to reduce heat island effect since HIP levels were affected by decreasing heat storage effect of buildings from roof gardens. As a result, reducing heat storage effect throughout selecting and arranging proper materials which would not increase heat island potentials should be performed to improve heat island effects.
