  • Purpose: Strategic management research and findings are usually not focused on dealing with concrete instruments for measuring individual competencies. The presence of traditional human resources management instruments, which include the aspects of job analysis, selection training, and even development, has been used frequently for many years in organizations. This study aims to investigate the relationship between employee reading habits and their innovativeness. Research design, data and methodology: The research methodology applied in this case is qualitative research methods. It is a method that involves the collection of data from non-numerical formats. The technique helped in understanding the relationship that exists between the reading habits of the employees and the competencies of innovation. Results: The present researchers figured out the meaningful connection between the independent variable (Reading Habit and dependent variable (Innovative Competency), explaining 'The Reason Why Employees Should Read More Books' and 'How Organizations Promote the Reading Habits of Employees'. Conclusions: It is clear that with reading habits among employees, innovation is easily achieved since these employees know their goals, how to achieve these objectives and overcome any challenge that might hinder innovation. Organizational management should work towards fostering positive reading cultures among employees in organizations.

  • As the information technology including Internet not only opened the cyber world but also has evolved as a platform that enables a new generation of businesses and remolds the shape of thinking and the rules of supply chain management (SCM). By using the Theory of Constraints, which seems simple but robust to review the traditional SCM context, the paper proposes a conceptual framework to handle the SCM issues. From the strategic perspective, this paper focuses on three policy constraints: supplier-manufacturer oriented constraints, manufacturer-distributor oriented constraints, and supply chain oriented constraints. To optimize the throughput and sustain the competitiveness of supply chain members in the dynamic business environment, the companies should utilize the potential competency of information technology and consistently perform the activities of removing and/or reinforcing the constraints.

  • Supply chain management(SCM) requires efforts to search for methods for mutual growth with partner companies and to maintain continuous cooperative relations in order to gain a competitive edge. Because information competencies play a big role within the supply chain, it is essential to examine the relationship of information sharing and partnership quality that can affect information competency. In order to maintain continuous business relations between partner companies, it is necessary to identify the obstacles with partner companies resulting from the imbalance of power within a supply chain and to take on a strategic approach for effectively managing such obstacles. Therefore, there is a significant need to discuss strategic approach methods to enable the logic of mutual growth through the CSV that is worth learning from the partner company and the attributes of non-mediated power. CSV will be reviewed from various aspects as a new management paradigm in the future. This study aims at suggesting a continuous growth model for companies by solving social problems through the integration of CSV and the concept of non-mediated power to advance the information competencies of SCM. A total of 142 copies of survey forms for SCM Implementation Companies were using the PLS structural equation modeling for an analysis, and the following are the findings. Results of this study showed that both CSV and non-mediated power had significant impact on information sharing and partnership qualities, and the conclusion that it is possible to enhance information competency through information sharing and partnership quality. Based on this, this study proposes the implication that it is necessary to elevate awareness of CSV and non-mediated power as variables for the coexistence of SCM participating companies.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a female entrepreneurial competency model. For the purpose, two Focus Group Interviews (FGI) were conducted with seven outstanding female entrepreneurs, and three expert reviews were conducted. In addition, in order to verify the validity of the provisional female entrepreneur competency model derived from the FGI and competency modeling expert review, the female entrepreneur competency model was finally confirmed through a survey of 442 female entrepreneurs. The results were as follows. First, a female entrepreneur competency model consisting of 6 competency groups and 25 competencies of entrepreneurship, emotion, business management, relationship management, strategic management, and multitasking, and 75 behavioral indicators describing each competency was developed. Second, sensibility and multitasking are competencies that reflect the characteristics of female entrepreneurs. In particular, 'social sense', which is the ability to be considerate of others in the emotional competency group and the ability to respond well to subtle nuances, and the multitasking competency group's unique strengths are women's ability to perform various tasks at the same time. The 'work-family control ability' of a female entrepreneur who maintains a balance between 'multi-tasking' and work and family is a representative competency of only female entrepreneurs. Third, the developed female entrepreneurship competency model is meaningful in that it not only increases female entrepreneurial competency so that prospective female entrepreneurs can successfully run a business through entrepreneurship education, but it also makes it easy for existing female entrepreneurs to reflect and improve their competencies. If we provide appropriate training programs to female entrepreneurs based on their competency, it will be possible to effectively enhance the entrepreneurial competency, which is the key to strengthening the competitiveness of female entrepreneurs. The female entrepreneur competency model developed through this study can provide a basis for future research on competency diagnosis and education needs analysis.

Therefore we developed a core competency model of scientist and examined its validity as a prerequisite for a core competency-based education of science gifted students. In order to this, the survey was conducted after developing questionnaire through the theoretical review of the various resources such as paper, book, and newspaper articles and the qualitative analysis of the behavioral event interview, and then an exploratory factor analysis was performed to validate the factor structure based on the results of the survey. The results revealed that the core competency model with the 5 cluster units of competency and the 15 core competencies was potentially constituted. And the reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the core competency model were verified through the confirmatory factor analysis. The cognitive cluster consisted of 5 competencies and they were as follows: creative, comprehensive, exploratory, analytical, and conceptual thinking competency. The achievement-orientation cluster consisted of 3 competencies and they were as follows: initiative, preparation & problem solving, and strategic influence competency. The scientific attitude cluster consisted of 3 competencies and they were as follows: flexible thinking & attitude, passion for research, and views about science competency. The personal effectiveness cluster consisted of 2 competencies and they were as follows: diverse experiences and global attitude competency. Finally, the networking cluster consisted of 2 competencies and they were as follows: personal understanding and communication competency. Findings were expected to provide the basic data for developing programs and establishing strategies based on the core competency as well as introducing the core competency model of scientist to science education for gifted students effectively.
