This study was carried out to investigate the current urban forest network and future plan of forest framework using nearest features program where stepping stones within 5km from the core forest were selected in the program. We found several conclusions as follows: First, we found that cities in inland area including Daegu, Dajeon and Gwangju have quite different types of forest network with comparing to the cities nearby coastline including Busan, Incheon and Ulsan. The cities in inland area have large mountain patch around each city. However they have small and lower number of island forests within their urban area. Otherwise, cities nearby coastline have more forest patches than in the cities in inland area, and Busan and Incheon especially have strong forest network using various size of forest patches. Second, Daegu and Daejeon have much smaller forest patches distributed in each urban area. So additional forest patches should be added to have highly strong forest network within urban area. Third, Ulsan and Gwangju have most stepping-stone forests close to the large mountain patches in suburban area, which are not able to connect to the forest patches in the central area of each city So additional forest patches are needed to be added in the central area of each city for reinforcing the effect of stepping stone in the central area. Though there should be an addition approach except for forest size and its isolation to construct the ecological network in an urban area, this indices can be a good method to check an environmental and ecological status in an urban area.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the volume stability depending on the mixing methods and storage time for the conventional alginate and extended-pour alginate. Materials and methods: An arch-shaped metal model was fabricated, and one conventional alginate and two extended-pour alginates were used to take impressions using different mixing methods (hand and automatic). 120 impressions were taken (40 per each alginate) and stone models were made in accordance with the different storage times (immediate, 2 days, 5 days, and 6 days). The models were scanned with a 3D table scanner and dimensional change was measured by superimposing the scan data. Using SAS 9.4 (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA), the general linear model and Tukey's post hoc test was conducted for statistical analysis (P<.001). Results: There was no statistically significant difference in the dimensional accuracy between two mixing methods, and the volume change was minimum when the stone was poured immediately in all groups. Dimensional accuracy showed a statistically significant difference between groups after 2 days of storage, and extended-pour alginate showed higher accuracy after 5 days of storage comparing to conventional one. Large amounts of volume change were showed at 2 - 5 days for conventional alginate and at 5 - 6 days for extended pour alginate. Conclusion: The mixing method of alginate does not affect volume stability. Although extended-pour alginate has better volume stability than conventional alginate for a long time, it is recommended to pour stone as soon as possible.

Geotextile effects as reinforcement and vertical drain materials are studied through the laboratory model embankments on weak clays. The experiments are carried out in four stages; no woven fabrics between clay-crushed stone boundary, fabrics between boundary with no initial pretensioning of fabrics, and fabrics between boundary with two different initial pretensionings of fabrics. In all stages, vertical drains utilizing non-woven fabrics are installed in the clay layer in square pattern to accelarate the consolidation. The experimental model has plane dimensions of $32cm{\times}330cm$. The height for the clay container is 60 cm. The 47 cm height of crushed stone embankment is constructed over the 50 cm deep clay layer. The time dependent pore pressures are measured utilizing the 8 piezometers installed symmetrically on both sides of the wall at different heights. The time dependent deformations are measured utilizing the LED indicating lamp matrix inserted in the crushed stone embankment and the dialgauges put on top of the clay layer where the crushed stones are not laid. The measurements are carried out for 10 days which is equivalent to the time required for the primary consolidation. Through the experimental study, an analytical procedure is developed to predict the time dependent embankment settlement even if the top of the clay layer is reinforced with woven fabrics. This can be done through measuring the maximum pore pressures developed in the clay layer and comparing with the theoretical maximum pore pressures when no reinforcing fabrics are employed.
A series of model tests were performed in this study to demonstrate the clogging mechanism created during the installation of a compaction pile to improve soft ground. The application of an air-jet to extrude sand or aggregates from a casing during the installation of a compaction pile imposes a remarkably high-pressure difference between the composite soil layers of clay and sand (or aggregates), resulting in severe clogging. Therefore, a one-dimensional testing system was developed to simulate composite soil layers consisting of clay and sand (or aggregates) and to apply a high-pressure differential at both boundaries, thus replicating the extrusion process used in compaction pile installation. Herein, the performance of two construction materials for compaction piles of crushed stone and grading-controlled aggregates was compared. A series of one-dimensional model tests were performed under multiple pressure settings, with clogging depth and permeability measured in each case. Results indicate that, blinding clogging mechanisms and blocking defined by previous studies were observed for crushed stone, and a new mechanism of "infiltration" was revealed and defined. Whereas, the controlled aggregates performed excellently against clogging because only blinding was observed.
Purpose: This study evaluated the detorque values of screws in a multiple implant-supported superstructure using stone casts made with 2 different impression techniques. Material and methods: A fully edentulous mandibular master model and a metal framework directly connected to four implants (Br${\aa}$nemark $System^{(R)}$; Nobel Biocare AB) with a passive fit to each other were fabricated. Six experimental stone casts (Group 1) were made with 6 non-splinted impressions on a master cast and another 6 experimental casts (Group 2) were made with 6 acrylic resin splinted impressions. The detorque values of screws ($TorqTite^{(R)}$ GoldAdapt Abutment Screw; Nobel Biocare AB) were measured twice after the metal framework was fastened onto each experimental stone cast with 20 Ncm torque. Detorque values were analyzed using the mixed model with the fixed effect of screw and reading and the random effect of model for the repeated measured data at a .05 level of ignificance. Results: The mean detorque values were 7.9 Ncm (Group 1) and 8.1 Ncm (Group 2), and the mean of minimum detorque values were 6.1 Ncm (Group 1) and 6.5 Ncm (Group 2). No statistically significant differences between 2 groups were found and no statistically significant differences among 4 screws were found for detorque values. No statistically significant differences between 2 groups were also found for minimum detorque values. Conclusion: In a multiple external hexagon implant-supported prosthesis, no significant differences between 2 groups were found for detorque values and for minimum detorque values. There seems to be no significant differences in screw joint stability between 2 stone cast groups made with 2 different impression techniques.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity of digital models fabricated by difference optical source of non-contact 3D dental scanner. Methods: A master model with the prepared upper full arch tooth was used. Stone model(N=10) were produced from master model, and on the other hands, digital models were made with the 3D dental scanner(Blue, white, red optical source). The linear distance between the reference points were measured and analyzed on the Delcam $Copycad^{(R)}$ graphic software. The results were statistically analyzed using the one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD test(${\alpha}=0.05$). Results: There were considerable differences in mean values between optical source within each color(blue, white, red), and this difference was not statistically significant(p>0.05). Conclusion : Three different color of dental scanner optical source showed clinically acceptable accuracies of full arch digital model produced by them. Besides, these results will have to be confirmed in further clinical studies.

In this paper, software activity, software activity instance, and the quality of the activity instance are defined as the 'activity which is performed on the software product by a person or a group of persons,' the 'distinctive and individual performance of software activity,' and the 'performer's evaluation on how good or bad his/her own activity instance is,' respectively. The representative values of the instance quality population associated with a product and its sub-population are defined as the (software) activity quality and activity quality characteristic of the product, respectively. The activity quality model in this paper classifies activity quality characteristics according to the classification hierarchy of software activity by the goal. In the model, a quality characteristic can have two types of sub-characteristics : Special sub-characteristic and component sub-characteristic, where the former is its super-characteristic too simultaneously and the latter is not its super-characteristic but a part of its super-characteristic. The activity quality model is parsimonious, coherent, and easy to understand and use. The activity quality model can serve as a corner stone on which a software quality body of knowledge, which constituted with a set of models parsimonious, coherent, and easy to understand and use and the theories explaining the cause-and-relationships among the models, can be built. The body of knowledge can be called the (grand) activity-centric quality model of software.
This paper summarizes the experimental vibration-based structural health monitoring study on a historical monument in Jordan. In this work, and within the framework of the European Commission funded project "wide-Range Non-Intrusive Devices Toward Conservation of Historical Monuments in the Mediterranean Area", a seven and a half century old minaret located in Ajloun (73 km north of the capital Amman) is studied. Because of their cultural value, touristic importance and the desire to preserve them for the future, only non-destructive tests were allowed for the experimental investigation of such heritage structures. Therefore, after dimensional measurements and determination of the current state of damage in the selected monument, ambient vibration tests are conducted to measure the accelerations at strategic locations of the system. Output-only modal identification technique is applied to extract the modal parameters such as natural frequencies and mode shapes. A Non-linear version of SAP 2000 computer program is used to develop a three-dimensional finite element model of the minaret. The developed numerical model is then updated according to the modal parameters obtained experimentally by the ambient-vibration test-results and the measured characteristics of old stone and deteriorated mortar. Moreover, a parametric identification method using the N4Sid state space model is employed to model the dynamic behavior of the minaret and to build up a robust, immune and noise tolerant model.

The aim of this study is to accurately estimate seismic damage and the collapse mechanism of the historical stone masonry minaret "Hafsa Sultan", which was built in 1522. Surveying measurements and material tests were conducted to obtain a 3D solid model and the mechanical properties of the components of the minaret. The initial Finite Element (FE) model is analyzed and numerical dynamic characteristics of the minaret are obtained. The Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) method is conducted to obtain the experimental dynamic characteristics of the minaret and the initial FE model is calibrated by using the experimental results. Then, linear time history (LTH) and nonlinear time history (NLTH) analyses are carried out on the calibrated FE model by using two different ground motions. Iron clamps which used as connection element between the stones of the minaret considerably increase the tensile strength of the masonry system. The Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) model is selected in the nonlinear analyses in ABAQUS. The analyses conducted indicate that the results of the linear analyses are not as realistic as the nonlinear analysis results when compared with existing damage.

A rice mill plant with a capacity of 2.5 ton/hr was constructed with automated facilities at Chonnam National University. A simulation model was developed with SLAM SYSTEM for evaluating and improving the rice mill plant. The developed model was validated in the views of hulling efficiency, milling efficiency, milled rice recovery, other materials produced, and bottlenecks in the processes. The results of hulling efficiency, milling efficiency, milled rice recovery in the simulation were, respectively, 81.1%, 89.5%, and 73.1%, while those of the actual mill plant were 81.5%, 90.2%, and 73.5%. The simulation results including the productivity of other materials(chaff, bran, broken rice, stone, etc) produced in the processes were almost similar with those of the actual process. In the simulation the bottlenecks were found out in the processes of separating brown rice and of sorting colored rice. These phenomenon also appeared in the actual process. It needed to increase the hourly capacity of the brown rice separator and the rice color sorter. As the developed model could well express the automated rice mill plant, it could be used for designing and improving rice mill plants. In addition, an alternative model needed to be developed for the system control more accurately and for increasing the rice quality.
