Current Status and Challenges of BGP Hijacking Security Threat (BGP 하이재킹 보안 위협 대응 현황 및 과제)

  • BGP(Border Gateway Protocol) is a routing protocol that is actively used in inter-AS routing on the Internet. However, BGP routing protocol is vulnerable to BGP hijacking attacks that hijack the network by impersonating normal BGP sessions. BGP Hijacking attacks can lead to causing intercept IP traffic or interference with the normal service operation. Recently, BGP hijacking attacks, which have often occurred overseas, have also occurred in Korea. It means threatening the security of the Internet. In this paper, we analyze the overall process of attack through representative attack cases and virtual scenarios of BGP hijacking and based on the results of analyzing the application status of security technology to prevent BGP hijacking attacks by Korea and global major ISPs. It covers the technical proposal of ISPs and autonomous system operators should take to defend against BGP hijacking attacks.

  • 소프트웨어 보안 취약점을 찾는 기술로서 퍼징(Fuzzing)이 있다. 기존 퍼징 기술은 요구-응답형 프로토콜을 사용하는 소프트웨어를 대상으로 하기 때문에 응답 메시기가 없는 단방향 프로토콜에서는 퍼징을 수행할 수 없는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 단방향 프로토콜 소프트웨어에서 퍼징을 수행하는데 필요한 퍼징 상태 판다 기능을 정의하고 설계한다.

  • This paper proposes a state machine design methodology in which an interactive robot that mimics discrete trial training (DTT protocol) can support social interaction training for children with autism. The robot applied to social interaction training uses the response to the provided training stimulus as a quantitative indicator by processing the data received from the sensors measuring the behavioral response of the child. In this process, the state machine is used as information that classifies the state of the acquired data and provides the subsequent stimulus for DTT protocol. Through the joint attentional training, it can be used as evidence-based treatment information by quantitatively classifying the data on the number of sustainable and DTT protocol and the child's response, as well as the current reaction status of the child to the observer performing remote monitoring. At the same time, it was confirmed that it is possible to properly respond to misrecognition situations.

  • This paper proposes a protocol for the reliableand QoS-aware multicast transport, which is called the Enhanced Communications Transport Protocol (ECTP). The ECTP has so far been developed and standardized in ITU-T SG17 and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 6. Differently from the conventional reliable multicast, as shownin the IETF RMT WG, the ECTP additionally provides several distinct features such as tight control of multicast session, tree-based error control, and QoS management. For the tight control of multicast connections, the sender is at the heart of one-to-many group communications, and it is responsible for overall connection management such as connection creation/termination, pause/resumption, and the join and leave operations. for tree-based reliability control, ECTP configures a hierarchical tree during connection creation. Error control is performed within each local group defined by a control tree, which was partly designed like the IETF TRACK approach. Each parent retransmits lost data in response to retransmission requests from its children. For QoS management, ECTP supports QoS negotiation for resource reservation, and it also provides QoS monitoring and maintenance operations. ECTP has been implemented and tested on Linux machine, along with Application Programming Interfaces based on Berkeley sockets. For basic testing of the ECTP functionality, we give some preliminary experimental results for performance comparison of ECTP and TCP unicast transports. In conclusion, we describe the status of ECTP experimentations over APAN/KOREN testbed networks

The Potential of IPTV Service: Is It a Bridging or Gap-filling Telecommunication Service? (기존 신규 방송통신서비스 분석을 통한 IPTV 서비스의 성장가능성 연구)

  • This paper attempts to conceptually examine the potential of IPTV(Internet Protocol Television). First, this paper reviews the concept of a bridging telecommunication service and a gap-filling telecommunications service. Second, the current status of various emerging telecommunications services including mobile WiMax, called WiBro, and both satellite and terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting service, called DMB are comprehensively analyzed. Based on those analysis, this paper analyzes whether IPTV is regared as a bridging telecommunications service or a gap-filling telecommunications service and examine the potential growth possibility of IPTV. Finally, the suggestions for policy makers are discussed.

  • In the distance education systems, there are limited things while performing educational activities because there are to be problems in structural features of the Web. HTTP, a connection-less protocol, performs requests of client, however, does not hold on the status. Thus, by features of the Web, it is difficult to hold on the connection of learners and trace information asked by learners. Moreover, these problems make impossible not only a learner's connection continuity but also on-line interaction among the learners in the distance education. This thesis developed CHTP, an connection-based hypertext transfer protocol, based on HTTP and a new platform of distance education in order to track activities of learners. The developed web extension platform will make it easy to build up system for being helpful in a distance education because this thesis proposes a standardized way in the protocol.

A Sensor nodes' Residual Energy based Wake-up Control Mechanism in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 센서 노드의 잔여 에너지 기반 Wake-up 제어 메커니즘)

  • In dense deployments of sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks, the MAC protocol has challenges to solve problems such as reducing delivery delay and reducing energy consumption. To solve these problems lots of protocols are suggested. This paper proposed a sensor nodes' residual energy based wake-up control mechanism, in which each node decides whether it wakes up or stays in sleep mode to save energy consumption by reducing unnecessary idle listening. The main idea of the wake-up control mechanism is to save node's energy consumption. The proposed wake-up control mechanism is based on the RI-MAC protocol, which is one of the receiver-initiated MAC protocols. A receiver node in the proposed mechanism periodically wakes up and broadcasts a beacon signal based on the energy status of the node. A receiver node also adjusts wake-up period based on the traffics. Results have shown that the proposed MAC protocol outperformed RI-MAC protocol in the terms of energy consumption.

  • PKI(Public key Infrastructure)기반에서 CA(Certificate Authority)는 사용자를 인증하기 위해서 인증서를 생성하고, 인증서의 상태를 검증하기위해서 CRL(Certificate Revocation List)를 발행하여 인증서 취소 상태를 확인하도록 한다. CRL을 사용할 경우 사용자의 증가로 인하여 CRL의 크기가 증가 함으로써 많은 부담과 실시간 처리가 어렵다. 이와 같은 단점을 보안하기 위해서 최근에는 실시간 처리가 가능한 OCSP(Online Certificate Status Protocol)방법이 제안되었지만 이 또한 사용자의 급증으로 하나의 OCSP 서버에 집중화 됨으로써 OCSP 서버의 부하가 많이 생긴다. 본 논문에서는 집중 OCSP 서버에서 생기는 부하를 줄이기 위해 여러 개의 OCSP 서버를 두고, 각 OCSP 서버의 응답 처리 시간을 빠르게 하기 위해서 CA가 실시간으로 인증서 취소 정보를 해당 OCSP 서버에게 분배하여 전달하고 Front Server를 둠으로써 각 OCSP의 Load를 모니터링하여 부하가 적게 걸린 OCSP에게 인증서 상태 검증을 함으로써 신뢰성과 각 OCSP 서버의 부하를 줄이는 방안을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient video data transmission protocol using the cross-layer approach in ad hoc networks. Due to node movement, the MANET is frequently changing path and each path has different transmission rate so that it has low performance when transmitters select a constant transmission late at the encoding time. Because MANET is running limited energy, efficient energy management is important because it increases network life time and network throughput. Therefore we need an effective video transmission method that considers physical layer channelstatistics, node's energy status, and network topology changes at the same time unlike the OSI recommendation protocol in that each layer isindependent and hard to transmit adaptively video data according to the network conditions. Therefore, in this paper we propose a cross-layer effective video transmission protocol and mechanism that can select an optimal path using multilayer information such as node's residual energy, channel condition and hop counts and can determine the adequate coding rate adaptively.

To reflect these points in smartphone users to easily use their own vehicles at a time to determine the status of a system that is required. In this paper, OBD-II protocol conversion WiFi OBD-II connector, retrieving information from the driver of the vehicle replacement cycle of consumables required vehicle inspection, vehicle problems in real-time diagnostic information to the user ease of use shows the iPhone implementation in the automotive supply was implemented based on the smartphone.
