  • In this paper, the breakdown strength of Pure HDPE(High density polyethylene) films and aged HDPE films were evaluated using 2-parameter Weibull distribution function. The result show that both were fitted 2-parameter Weibull distribution. This method could be used to be the diagnostic tool to evalute the insulation performance and endurance under the multiple stresses.

  • In this paper we present combined estimator of capture-recapture and line transect model using bivariate detection function and detection probability according to objects being in cluster population. Here bivariate detection function use distance and cluster size. The simulation shows that combined estimator approaches the more true value the larger size parameter. Therefore this estimator using the bivariate detection function is more efficient in estimate the population size and density by size parameter.

  • We consider the estimation problem for the scale parameter of the Rayleigh distribution using weighted balanced loss function (WBLF) which reflects both goodness of fit and precision. Under WBLF, we obtain the optimal estimator which creates a kind of balance between Bayesian and non-Bayesian estimation. We also deal with the estimation of R = P(Y < X) when Y and X are two independent but not identically distributed Rayleigh distribution under squared error loss function.

  • We shall propose the MME MLE and UMVUE for the mean parameter and the right-tail probability in a power function distribution and obtain the mean squared errors for the proposed estimators. And we shall compare numerically efficiencies of the MME MLE and UMVUE of the mean parameter and the right-tail probability in a power function distribution.

  • In the Taguchi Parameter design, the product-array approach using orthogonal arrays is mainly used. However, it often requires an excessive number of experiments. An alternative approach, which is called the combined- array approach, was suggested by welch et. al. (1990) and studied by Vining and Myers(1990), Box and Jones (1992) and others. In these studies, only single response variable was considered. We propose how to simultaneously optimize multiple responses when there are correlations among responses, and when we use the combined-array approach to assign control and noise factors.

  • In this paper, we derive the approximate maximum likelihood estimators of the scale parameter and the location parameter in a double Rayleigh distribution based on multiply Type-II censored samples. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error for various censored samples.
