  • This paper deals with the state estimator and controller. All state variables' feedback in the system were used to improve electro hydraulic servo sysem were used to improve electro hydraulic servo system's responese charact- eristics. Many gains of the state variables'and estimator's are produced by the algebraic Riccati equation, and every state variables'optimal gain and estimator gain is selected by trial and error method. For the designed estimator performance's examination, this paper simulate the time response for the step input, the reduced velocity output in subjected to load torque, and the time response for the step input in changing the inertiamoment.

A Simulation of the Myocardium Activation Process using the Discrete Event Cell Space Model (DEVCS 모델을 사용한 심근 활성화과정의 시뮬레이션)

  • The modelling and simulation of the activation process for the heart system is meaningful to understand special excitatory and conductive system in the heart and to study cardiac functions because the heart activation conducts through this system. This thesis proposes two dimensional cellular automaton(CA) model for the activation process of the myocardium and conducted simulation by means of discrete time and discrete event algorithm. In the model, cells are classified into anatomically similar characteristic parts of the heart and each of cells has a set of cells with preassigned properties. Each cell in this model has state variables to represent the state of the cell and has some state transition rules to change values of state variables executed by state transition function. The state transition rule is simple as follows. First, the myocardium cell at rest stay in passive state. Second, if any one of neighborhood cell in the myocardium cell is active state then the state is change from passive to active state. Third, if cell's state is an active then automatically go to the refractory state after activation phase. Four, if cell's state is refractory then automatically go to the passive state after refractory phase. These state transition is processed repeatedly in all cells through the termination of simulation.

  • In this note we use the Poisson Summation Formula to generalize a result of Harris and Park (1994) on lattice distributions induced by uniform (0,1) random variables to those generated by random variables with step functions as their probability functions.

  • For the state feedback controller which measures only partial state variables, a state observer can be used to give the estimates of unmeasurable states. In this paper, the delayed state feedback method instead of the state observer for desingning a tracking controller of electro-hydraulic control system is presented. The controller design is based on augmenting the original system by one additional integral and proportional element which compensates for the effect of the integral control and on feeding back the measurable state variables and their delayed values. The performance of the proposed position control system is compared with both that of the full state feedback control system and that of the digital PID control system tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method and by the parameter readjustment through the computer simulation. And then robustness against unmeasurable constant disturbace and parameter variations during operations is also checked.

  • In this study, we drive the one dimensional marginal transform function, probability density function and probability distribution function for the random variables $T_{{\xi}N}$ (Time taken by the servers during the vacations), ${\xi}_N$(Number of vacations taken by the servers) and ${\eta}_N$(Number of customers or units arrive in the system) by controlling the variability of two random variables simultaneously.

  • The inverted pendulum system is a common, interesting control problem that involves many basic elements of control theory. In the early, controls of stabilization for the inverted pendulum system were used classical methods like PD, PID controller. In recently, however, control methods based on modern and intelligent control theory are widely applied. The fuzzy logic controller which is often used in nonlinear control is a little too hard to design due to increasing fuzzy rules rapidly if the given system like inverted pendulum has many state variables. Also, in case the state variables are divided into two parts, two fuzzy controllers are needed in the control system. In this paper, the authors propose FCSC(Fuzzy Controller based on State variables Combination) that reorganized into two new signals depending on the physical meaning of the four state variables of the inverted pendulum system. The proposed method is applied to the inverted pendulum system and simulations are accomplished to illustrate the control performance.

  • The dynamics of unobservable short rate are frequently estimated directly by using a proxy. We estimate the biases resulting from this practice ("proxy problem"). To solve this problem, State-Space models have been proposed by many researchers. State-Space models have been used to estimate the unobservable variables from the observable variables in econometrics. However, applications of State-Space models often result in a misleading interpretation of the underlying processes especially when the absorbability of the State-Space model and the assumption of noise processes in the state vector are not properly considered. In this study, we propose the exact State-Space model that properly considers the faults of previous researchers to solve the proxy problem.

  • This paper presents the shape optimization algorithm of magnetic systems with, state variable constraints using the Finite Element Method. In the design' of electromagnetic systems, sometimes we have to consider the state variables when they seriously affect the performance of electromagnetic systems. So we should define that some design problems have the constraints of the state variables. We use the gradient of constraints and sensitivity analysis in order to consider the state variable constraints and obtain an optimal shape. The optimal shape must be satisfied constraints, so we take the gradient projection method as a kind of optimization methods. In this paper a numerical example with state variable constraints uses the superconducting electromagnet that has another constraint which the volume of the superconductor should be constant.

  • The state assignment for a finite state machine greatly affects the delay, area, power dissipation, and testabilities of the sequential circuits. In order to improve the testabilities and power consumption, a new state assignment technique . based on m-block partition is introduced in this paper. By the m-block partition algorithm, the dependencies among groups of state variables are minimized and switching activity is further reduced by assigning the codes of the states in the same group considering the state transition probability among the states. In the sequel the length and number of feedback cycles are reduced with minimal switching activity on state variables. It is inherently contradictory problem to optimize the testability and power consumption simultaneously, however our new state assignment technique is able to achieve high fault coverage with less number of scan nfp flops by reducing the number of feedback cycles while the power consumption is kept low upon the low switching activities among state variables. Experiment shows drastic improvement in testabilities and power dissipation for benchmark circuits.
