The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of the obesity and metabolic syndrome of the university students and to contribute to the development of the national health promotion through the comparative analysis on the risk factors of the metabolic syndrome by BMI level. The subjects for the study were 848(445 men and 403 women) college students. That is underweight group(18.5 kg/$m^2$${\leq}$ BMI, UWG) 28(6%) men, 86(21%) women, normal weight group(18.5 kg/$m^2$ < BMI < 23 kg/$m^2$, NWG) 218(49%) men, 250(62%) women, overweight group(23 kg/$m^2$${\leq}$ BMI < 25 kg/$m^2$, OWG) 117(26%) men, 42(11%) women, obesity group(25 kg/$m^2$${\leq}$ BMI, OG) 82(19%)man, 25(6%) women based on BMI standard of classification by WHO(2004). The conclusions were as follow. This result are necessary to evaluate the fitness of the university students. Because we can recognize and prevent the negative factor that could be produced during young adults we know the risk factors that could be chronic disease.
Mixed substrate oil cakes are known to emit sulfides, ammonia, and amines. Microorganisms capable of removing odorous gases related to these sulfur compounds were isolated from colonies enriched in vials containing oil cakes and water. Activity tests for hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan reduction were performed to measure the sulfide reduction ratio of the isolates. Control groups were prepared with 0.25 g oil cakes and 10 ml water in a 100-ml vial without inoculation. The experimental groups were prepared similarly, albeit with an inoculum. Hydrogen sulfide removal efficiency of >90% was observed for an isolate, which was identified as Brevundimonas diminuta by 16S rDNA sequence analysis. The sequence was deposited in the Korean Collection for Type Cultures under the accession number KCTC11724BP. B. diminuta could remove up to 200 ppmv standard hydrogen sulfide in 24 hours and demonstrated a maximum hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan removal efficiency of 100% at 453 ppmv and 98 ppmv, respectively, in vial tests. Furthermore, B. diminuta cells in 20% (v/w) medium showed removal efficiency of >85% for sulfur compounds in an odor emission chamber for swine manure.

They evaluate the bone age using the GP-BP (Greulich-Pyle and Bayley-Pinneau) and TW3 (Tanner-Whitehouse 3) in clinical. The skeletal maturity in Hand AP is evaluated by clinical experience of physicians and this is qualitative evaluation not same in every physicians. In order to devise and evaluate new methods not using TW3 method in this situation. The study was conducted with 70 (Male 35, Female 35) children who visited Yangsan P Hospital from March 2014 to March 2015. The study measured the length of growth plate and distal proximal phalanx and conducted regression analysis for statistical significance test of bone age length difference. The study found average and standard deviation corresponding to certain ranges each bone age. The more bone age increase, the more the length of growth plate and distal proximal phalanx decreased. The girls have less average rather than the boys because bone grows fast. The girls have first period age of 12 to 14, it appears length variation significantly. The study conducted regression analysis and this has statistical significance.

The objective of this study was to compare the rate of in vitro demineralization of bovine permanent (BP), human deciduous (HD) and human permanent (HP) enamel. Twenty aye flattened and polished enamel samples for each group (BP, HD, HP) were immersed in a demineralizing solution (0.1 mol/L lactic acid, 0.2% Carbopol 907, and 50% saturated hydroxyapatite) for 1, 2, 4 or 8 days. All 25 samples from each group were subjected to Quantitative light induced fluorescence analysis (QLF) and 5 samples from each group were randomly selected for Transverse Microradiography analysis (TMR). Integrated mineral loss (IML) and lesion depth (LD) were determined by TMR. The fluorescence radiance (FR) of sound enamel $(FR_S)$, demineralized enamel $(FR_D)$ were determined by QLF and FR ratio $(FR_D/FR_S)$ was calculated. Bovine enamel samples showed significant correlation between FR ratio and lesion depth(p<0.05) and deciduous enamel samples does not showed significant correlation between FR ratio and lesion depth(p>0.05). Permanent enamel samples showed significant correlation between FR ratio and lesion depth(p<0.05) The constant of demineralization time between FR ratio from regression analysis were as follows: bovine enamel was -4.643(p<0.05) deciduous enamel was -5.421(p<0.05) and permanent enamel was -4.435(p<0.05).
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of compost leachate and concentrated pig slurry on growth of pepper in substrate hyrdoponic culture. In process of composting, compost leachate was was through a saturated compost heap. Pig slurry was filtered by ultra filtration and concentrated by reverse osmosis process. The pig slurry was mixed with chemical nutrient solution and byproduct based on nitrogen content. Peppers were grown in the seven different hydroponic solutions; compost leachate (CL), concentrated pig slurry (CS), compost leachate + byproduct (CL+BP), concentrated pig slurry + byproduct (CS+BP), compost leachate 50% + nutrient solution 50% (CL+NS), concentrated pig slurry 50% + nutrient solution 50% (CS+NS) and chemical nutrient solution for pepper. The chemical nutrient solution was the standard solution of National Horticulture Research Station for the growth of pepper. The concentration of nutrient solution was adjusted $1.6{\sim}2.0mS/cm$ in EC. The compost leachate and concentrated pig slurry were low in phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), but rich in potassium (K). Growth characteristics as affected by the different nutrient solution were significantly different. Growth and fruit characteristics treated with CL 50+NS 50%CS and 50+NS 50% were similar with NS 100% control plot. The dry weight of stem and leaf were 107.4, 104.2g in plot of NS 100% and CS 50%+NS 50%, respectively. The fruit of pepper showed lowest in the plot treated with 100% concentrated pig slurry, and the growth of pepper severely decreased after application of 100% CS treatment. The yield of pepper was not significantly different between the plots treated with mixture of CS50 + NS50% and 100% nutrient solution treatment. Fruit yield of the compost leachate concentrated pig slurry plot were 59, 14% compared to control, repectively. In conclusion, the mixture solution of 50% of pig slurry and 50% of nutrient solution could be used as a nutrition solution of pepper in hydroponic culture.

Objective: Arrhythmogenic mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is an important cause of sudden cardiac death characterized by fibrosis of the papillary muscles or left ventricle (LV) wall, and an association between late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) of the LV papillary muscles and ventricular arrhythmia in MVP has been reported. However, LGE of the papillary muscles may be observed in other causes of mitral regurgitation, and it is not limited to patients with MVP. This study was to evaluate the association of LGE of the LV papillary muscles or ventricular wall on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and ventricular arrhythmia in patients with mitral regurgitation. Materials and Methods: This study included 88 patients (mean age ± standard deviation, 58.3 ± 12.0 years; male, 42%) with mitral regurgitation who underwent CMR. They were allocated to the MVP (n = 43) and non-MVP (n = 45) groups, and their LGE images on CMR, clinical characteristics, echocardiographic findings, and presence of arrhythmia were compared. Results: LV myocardial wall enhancement was more frequent in the MVP group than in the non-MVP group (28% vs. 11%, p = 0.046). Papillary muscle enhancement was observed in 7 (7.9%) patients. Of the 43 patients with MVP, 15 (34.8%) showed LGE in the papillary muscles or LV myocardium, including 12 (27.9%) with LV myocardial wall enhancement and 4 (9.3%) with papillary muscle enhancement. One patient with bilateral diffuse papillary muscle enhancement experienced sudden cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation. Univariable logistic regression analysis showed that high systolic blood pressure (BP; odds ratio [OR], 1.05; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.01-1.09; p = 0.027) and ventricular arrhythmia (OR, 6.84; 95% CI, 1.29-36.19; p = 0.024) were significantly associated with LGE of the papillary muscles. Conclusion: LGE of the papillary muscles was present not only in patients with MVP, but also in patients with other etiologies of mitral regurgitation, and it was associated with high systolic BP and ventricular arrhythmia. Papillary muscle enhancement on CMR should not be overlooked.

H.264(or MPEG-4/AVC pt.10) is a high performance video coding standard, and is widely used. Variable length code (VLC) of the H.264 standard compresses data using the statistical distribution of values. A decoder parses the compressed bit stream and searches decoded values in lookup tables, and the decoding process is not easy to implement by hardware. We propose an architecture of variable length decoder(VLD) for the H.264 baseline profile(BP) L4. The CAVLD decodes syntax elements using the combination of arithmetic units and lookup tables for the optimized hardware architecture. A barral shifter and a first 1's detector parse NAL bit stream, and are shared by Exp-Golomb decoder and CAVLD. A FIFO memory between CAVLD and the reorder unit and a buffer at the output of the reorder unit eliminate the bottleneck of data stream. The proposed VLD is designed using Verilog-HDL and is implemented using an FPGA. The synthesis result using a 0.18um standard CMOS technology shows that the gate count is 22,604 and the decoder can process HD($1920{\times}1080$) video at 120MHz.
We investigated soil contamination depending on the land use by examining the contamination levels and distribution characteristics of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the national soil. Total PAHs (the sum of 16 PAH concentrations) and carcinogenic PAHs (the sum of seven carcinogenic PAH concentrations) were $8.50{\sim}3,437.16{\mu}g/kg$ and $2.94{\sim}2,136.96{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. The concentration of benzo(a)pyrene, one of the contaminants regulated by the soil quality standard in the nation, was $ND{\sim}924.73{\mu}g/kg$. Its maximum value of $924.73{\mu}g/kg$ was detected in railroad (Region 3) and is approximately 13% of the standard value for Region 3 (i.e., 7 mg/kg). We also investigated the characteristics of contamination sources of PAHs in soil of the upland, forests, roads, and railroads, examining the fraction distribution of PAHs concentration by the number of benzene rings against the total PAHs concentration. The results demonstrate that the mean fraction of 4~6-ring PAHs against total PAHs concentration in soil was in the range of 51.8~80.7% with relative abundance of high-molecular PAHs, showing that the origin of contamination is under the category of combustion sources. When the molecular indices (Flu/(Flu/Pyr), Ant/(Ant+Phe), InP/(InP+BP), and BaA/(BaA+Chr)) were applied, they were also categorized as petroleum-based combustion sources. The individual PAH concentrations in soil by the land use were grouped into Regions 1, 2, and 3, which are statistically treated and are the parts of the national category system of soil quality standard. As a result, the concentration level of 16 PAHs was $0.02{\sim}2.63{\mu}g/kg$ in Region 1, $0.05{\sim}4.26{\mu}g/kg$ in Region 2, and $2.36{\sim}178.27{\mu}g/kg$ in Region 3. The concentration level of 6 carcinogenic PAHs was 14.2~320.4% against that of benzo(a)pyrene in Region 3 and sites of recycling waste sleepers. Considering that there were similarities among PAHs in terms of structures and toxicities, it would be recommended to review other types of carcinogenic PAHs together with benzo(a)pyrene when developing the soil quality standards in the nation.

Currently, the Korean Pharmacopoeia (KP XI) recommends HPLC and potentiometric titration (which is less specific than HPLC) for the determination of triflusal content in capsules and raw materials, respectively. Additionally, the British Pharmacopoeia (BP 2017) and European Pharmacopoeia (EP 8.0), which include a monograph for triflusal in raw materials only, describe a titration method for the assay. The latest version of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP 39) and Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP 17) still have not published monographs for triflusal and its preparations. To improve the specificity and efficacy of the assay, we present an HPLC method to determine triflusal content in both raw materials and capsules. The proposed method was validated in accordance with the requirements of the International Conference on Harmonization. A good linear relationship was achieved for triflusal in the range of $200-1250{\mu}g/mL$ with a coefficient of determination of approximately 0.9996. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of inter- and intraday precision were 0.73-1.12 % and 0.34-0.51 %, respectively. The recovery percentage of triflusal was in the range of 98.80-101.31 %. Because its system suitability, intermediate precision, and robustness were satisfactory, this method could be suitable for determining triflusal content in raw materials and capsules.
