Study of Advanced Control for Chemical Process Using the Commercial Package PCTP Based on Model Predictive Control Algorithm (모델예측제어기반 상용 Package PCTP를 이용한 화학공정의 제어 고도화 연구)

  • This paper presents an application study of a model predictive control based commercial package PCTP to real chemical processes. The first case study concerns a product purity control of a splitter process which distillates styrene from undesired component ethyl-benzene produced from ethyl-benzene dehydrogenation reaction. The second case study is about a temperature control of ethyl-benzene dehydrogenation reactor and an excess oxygen control of the fired heater. Optimum control structure for MPC application is developed for each case study. The application results show a significant improvement in control performance and stability.

  • We have employed a technique of corona excited supersonic expansion to generate electronically excited but jet-cooled o-tolunitrile. The vibronically well-resolved emission spectrum of the jet-cooled o-tolunitrile in the $S_{1}\rightarrow S_{0}$ transition was recorded in the uv region using a Fourier transform spectrometer equipped with a Quartz-uv beam splitter. The electronic transition and vibrational mode frequencies in the ground electronic state were accurately determined from the analysis of the spectra observed.

  • This Paper suggests real-time video streaming method by using DCT-based scalability, and evaluates and analyzes the function. It is similar to using lowpass filter. That is, as following figure, this method is to split the encoded data in splitter and transmit it, and to decode the data according to the situation. This method can be applied to any video CODEC which is based on DCT. Therefore, this thesis suggests easy video streaming method by using DCT-based scalability, and shows the result of experiment. By using suggested scalability, calculations are reduced, and spacial scalability is realized. Moreover, the objective data which meet user's need according to the network condition and choose the appropriate scalability according to the capability of terming can be extracted. And it is possible to apply any resources according to the specificity of image.

  • Submicron gratings are fabricated holographically on thin film single mode and multimode waveguides. Thin film waveguides are made by spin-coating polyurethane solution on the substrates of microscope slide glass and Corning 7059 glass. In order to characterize thin film waveguides, the refract사e index and the thickness of thin films are measured by using the m-line spectroscopy. The fabricated gratings are tested as a grating coupler, a mode converter, and a beam splitter. Also chirped gratings are fabricated to observe beam expansion phenomena and thus the possibility of the wavelength demultiplexing.

Improving Physical-Layer Security for Full-duplex Radio aided Two-Way Relay Networks

  • The power allocation optimization problem is investigated for improving the physical-layer security in two-way relaying networks, where a full-duplex relay based half-jamming protocol (HJP-FDR) is considered. Specially, by introducing a power splitter factor, HJP-FDR divides the relay's power into two parts: one for forwarding the sources' signals, the other for jamming. An optimization problem for power split factor is first developed, which is proved to be concave and closed-form solution is achieved. Moreover, we formulate a power allocation problem to determine the sources' power subject to the total power constraint. Applying the achieved closed-form solutions to the above-mentioned problems, a two-stage strategy is proposed to implement the overall power allocation. Simulation results highlight the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm and indicate the necessity of optimal power allocation.

  • 최근 산업용 태양광 발전시장에서 주목 받고 있는 양면수광형 태양전지의 경우 지면 반사광(Albedo)의 영향으로 추가적인 광생성(Photogeneration)이 발생하여 태양전지의 전환효율(Conversion efficiency)을 증가시켜 주기 때문에 시장에서 수요가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 몇 가지 문제에 대한 논의가 진행되고 있는데 그 중에서 가장 중요한 부분은 양면수광형 태양전지의 효율을 정의하는 부분이다. 양면수광형 태양전지의 효율을 정의하기 위하여 여러 가지 연구가 진행되었지만 현재까지 국제적인 기준이 제정되지 않아 정확한 효율의 정의가 어려운 상황이다. 양면수광형 태양전지의 성능 확인을 위한 측정 방식은 단일광원(Single light source) 조사 방식, 단일광원 분할(Single light splitter) 조사 방식, 이중광원(Double light source) 조사 방식으로 나눌 수 있다. 본고에서는 이중광원 조사 방식을 이용하여 후면 반사광의 광원을 개별적으로 정의함으로써 실제 발전 환경과 동일한 조건의 광량 정의를 통하여 다양한 지면 반사 조건에 대하여 정확한 태양전지의 전환효율을 측정하고 이를 통하여 다이오드 특성을 추출할 수 있는 측정 방식에 대하여 논하고자 한다.

  • A holographic display system with a 22-inch LCD panel is developed to provide a wide viewing angle and large holographic 3D image. It is realized by steering a narrow viewing window resulting from a very large pixel pitch compared to the wave length of the laser light. Point light sources and a lens array make it possible to arbitrarily control the position of the viewing window for a moving observer. The holographic display provides both eyes of the observer with a holographic 3D image using two vertically placed LCD panels and a beam splitter to support the holographic stereogram.

  • Centrifugal turbo blower is requested highly efficiency and low noise in FCEV, but the noise generated by this machine causes of the most serious problems in the NVH performance. In general, centrifugal turbo blower is dominated by mechanical noise and aerodynamic noise. Mechanical noise is generated by rotation of the bearing, misalignment and unbalance. And aerodynamic noise is generated by the strong intersection between the flow discharged from the impeller and the cut-off in the casing. The first object of this study is to comprehend a noise property of the blower through the noise test. And, second object is to bring up the method that can reduce blower noise.

  • Photonic crystals, periodic structure with a high refractive index contrast modulation, have recently become very interesting platform for the manipulation of light. The existence of a photonic bandgap, a frequency range in which the propagation of light is prevented in all directions, makes photonic crystal very useful in application where the spatial localization of light is required, for example waveguide, beam splitter, and cavity. However, the fabrication of 3 dimensional photonic crystals is still difficult process. A concept that has recently attracted a lot of attention is a planar photonic crystal based on a dielectric membrane, suspended in the air and perforated with two dimensional lattice of hole. The fabrication of Si master with pillar structure using hot embossing process is investigated for two dimensional, low-index-contrast photonic crystal waveguide. From our research we show that the multiple stamp copy process proved to be feasible and useful.
