  • An exponentially accurate nonconforming spectral element method for elasticity systems with discontinuities in the coefficients and the flux across the interface is proposed in this paper. The method is least-squares spectral element method. The jump in the flux across the interface is incorporated (in appropriate Sobolev norm) in the functional to be minimized. The interface is resolved exactly using blending elements. The solution is obtained by the preconditioned conjugate gradient method. The numerical solution for different examples with discontinuous coefficients and non-homogeneous jump in the flux across the interface are presented to show the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • The study is about the bounds of the spectral norms of r-circulant and geometric circulant matrices with the sequences called biperiodic Jacobsthal numbers. Then we give bounds for the spectral norms of Kronecker and Hadamard products of these r-circulant matrices and geometric circulant matrices. The eigenvalues and determinant of r-circulant matrices with the bi-periodic Jacobsthal numbers are obtained.

  • We analyze the spectral collocation approximation for a parabolic partial integrodifferential equations(PIDE) with a weakly singular kernel. The space discretization is based on the spectral collocation method and the time discretization is based on Crank-Nicolson scheme with a graded mesh. We obtain the stability and second order convergence result for fully discrete scheme.

  • In order to evaluate the quality of peaches non-destructively, the surface color and spectral reflectance of KURAKATAWASE, MIBAEKTO and OKUBO cultivar were measured. Also an attempt was made to correlate reflectance characteristics with quality evaluation parameters such as chlorophyll, anthocyanin , soluble solid , and firmness.

  • In order to evaluate the quality of peaches non-destructively, the surface color and spectral reflectances of KURAKATAWASE, MIBAEKTO, and OKUBO cultivar were measured. Also an attempt was made to correlate reflectance characteristics and tristimulus values with quality evaluation parameters such as chlorophyll content, soluble solids, anthocyanin content, and firmness. Further analysis of the correlation coefficients showed that spectral reflectance would be effective for the quality evaluation of peaches.

  • In this paper it is shown that the spectrum ${\sigma}$ is continuous at every p-hyponormal operator when restricted to the set of essentially p-hyponormal operators and moreover ${\sigma}$ is continuous when restricted to the set of compact perturbations of p-hyponormal operators whose spectral pictures have no holes associated with the index zero.

  • In this paper, the long time behavior of the convective Cahn-Hilliard equation in two dimensions is considered, semidiscrete and completely discrete spectral approximations are constructed, error estimates of optimal order that hold uniformly on the unbounded time interval $0{\leq}t<{\infty}$ are obtained.
