FT-Indoornavi: A Flexible Navigation Method Based on Topology Analysis and Room Internal Path Networks for Indoor Navigation (FT-IndoorNavi: 토폴로지 분석 및 실내 경로 네트워크 분석에 기반한 실내 네비게이션을 위한 유연한 네비게이션 알고리즘)

  • Recently many researches have focused on indoor navigation system. An optimal indoor navigation method can help people to find a path in large and complex buildings easily. However, some indoor navigation algorithms only calculate approximate routes based on spatial topology analysis, while others only use indoor road networks. However, both of them use only one of the spatial topology or network information. In this paper, we present a navigation method based on topology analysis and room internal networks for indoor navigation path. FT-Indoornavi (Flexible Topology Analysis Indoornavi) calculate internal routes based on spatial topology and internal path networks to support length-dependent and running-time optimal routing, which adapt to complex indoor environment and can achieve a better performance in comparison of Elastic algorithm and iNav.

  • Recently, component-based software has become main trends in designing and developing computer software products. This component-based software has advantage of the interoperability on distributed computing environment and the reusability of pre-developed components. Also, GIS is designed and implemented with this component-based methodology, called Open GIS Component. OGC(OpenGIS Consortium) have announced various implementation and design specification and topic in GIS. In GIS, Spatial analysis functions like network analysis, TIN analysis are very important function and basically, estimate system functionality and performance using this analysis methods. The simple feature geometry specification is announced by OGC to increase the full interoperability of various spatial data. This specification includes just geometry spatial data model. However, in GIS which manages spatial data, not only geometric data but also topological data and various analysis functions have been used. The performance of GIS depends on how this geometric and topological data is managed well and how various spatial analyses are executed efficiently. So it requires integrated spatial data model between geometry and topology and extended data model of topology for spatial analysis, in case network analysis and TIN analysis in open GIS component. In this paper, we design analysis component like network analysis component and TIN analysis component. To manage topological information for spatial analysis in open GIS component, we design extended data model of simple feature geometry for spatial analysis. In addition to, we design the overall system architecture of open GIS component contained this topology model for spatial analysis.

Optimal Shape Design of Space Truss Structure using Topology Optimization and Cellular Automata Model (위상최적화와 Cellular Automata 모델을 이용한 대공간 트러스 구조물의 최적형태 설계)

  • It is important to design the optimal shape in the initial process because the influences on the design and construction are large according to the shape and pattern of spatial structures. However, the existing optimal shape designs for spatial structure are performed by the designer's intuition and experiences. Therefore, this study proposes the integrated process using the topology optimization and cellular automata model. First, the initial optimal shapes are obtained by using the topology optimization, and then the spatial truss structural patterns are created through the application of cellular automata rules. Finally, the optimal shapes to satisfy the various design conditions are generated by the structural analysis and size optimization.

Topology Optimization based on Monte Carlo Analysis (몬테카를로 해석 기반 확률적 위상최적화)

  • In this paper, we take into account topology optimization problems considering spatial randomness in the material property of elastic modulus. Based on 88 lines MATLAB Code, Monte Carlo analysis has been performed for MBB(messerschmidt-$b{\ddot{o}}lkow$-blohm) model using 5,000 random sample fields which are generated by using the spectral representation scheme. The random elastic modulus is assumed to be Gaussian in the spatial domain of the structure. The variability of the volume fraction of the material, which affects the optimum topology of the given problem, is given in terms of correlation distance of the random material. When the correlation distance is small, the randomness in the topology is high and vice versa. As the correlation distance increases, the variability of the volume fraction of the material decreases, which comply with the feature of the linear static analysis. As a consequence, it is suggested that the randomness in the material property is need to be considered in the topology optimization.

  • A continuum-based design sensitivity analysis (DSA) method fur non-shape problems is developed for geometrically nonlinear elastic structures. The non-shape problem is characterized by the design variables that are not associated with the domain of system like sizing, material property, loading, and so on. Total Lagrangian formulation with the Green-Lagrange strain and the second Piola-Kirchhoff stress is employed to describe the geometrically nonlinear structures. The spatial domain is discretized using the 4-node isoparametric plane stress/strain elements. The resulting nonlinear system is solved using the Newton-Raphson iterative method. To take advantage of the derived analytical sensitivity In topology optimization, a fast and efficient design sensitivity analysis method, adjoint variable method, is employed and the material property of each element is selected as non-shape design variable. Combining the design sensitivity analysis method and a gradient-based design optimization algorithm, an automated design optimization method is developed. The comparison of the analytical sensitivity with the finite difference results shows excellent agreement. Also application to the topology design optimization problem suggests a very good insight for the layout design.

  • Feature identification is one of the largest issue in high spatial resolution satellite imagery. A popular method associated with this feature identification is image segmentation to produce image segments that are more likely to features interested. Here, it is, proposed that combination of edge extraction and region growing methods for image segments were used to improve the result of image segmentation. At the intial step, an image was segmented by edge detection method. The segments were assigned IDs, and polygon topology of segments were built. Based on the topology, the segments were tested their similarities with adjacent segments using multivariate analysis. The segments that have similar spectral characteristics were merged into a region. The test application shows that the segments composed of individual large, spectrally homogeneous structures, such as buildings and roads, were merged into more similar shape of structures.

  • In this paper we study the use of polyinstantiation for spatial data, for the purpose of solving cover in topology channel in multilevel secure spatial database systems. Spatial database system with topological structure has a number of spatial analysis function using spatial data and neighbored one\`s each other. But. it has problems that information flow is occurred by topological relationship in spatial database systems. Geographic Information System(CIS) must be needed mandatory access control because there ,are many information flow through positioning information And topological relationship between spatial objects. Moreover, most GIS applications also graphe user interface(GUI). In addressing these problems, we design the MLS/SRDM(Multi Level Security/Spatial Relational Data Model) and propose polyinstantiation for spatial data for solving information flow that occurred by toplogical relationship of spatial data.

Transportation Network Data Generation from the Topological Geographic Database (GIS위상구조자료로부터 교통망자료의 추출에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents three methods of generating the transportation network data out of the topological geographic database in the hope that the conversion of the geographic database file containing the topology to the conventional node-link type trans¬portation network file may facilitate the integration between transportation planning mod¬els and GIS by alleviating the inherent problems of both computing environments. One way of the proposed conversion method is to use the conversion software that allows the bi-directional conversion between the UTPS (Urban Transportation Planning System) type transportation planning model and GIS. The other two methods of data structure conversion approach directly transform the GIS's user-level topology into the transportation network data topology, and have been introduced with codes programmed with FORTRAN and AML (Arc Macro Language) of ARC/INFO. If used successfully, any approach would not only improve the efficiency of transportation planning process and the associated decision-making activities in it, but enhance the productivity of trans¬portation planning agencies.

Development of a Cylindrical-Shaped Optimal Trolley Model for Cable-Based Retractable Membrane Roof (케이블 기반 개폐 막 지붕의 원통형 최적 트롤리 모델의 개발)

  • This study examines the optimum shape of a trolley, the driving device of the retractable membrane roof. The closed-type trolley was determined as the model of the study, and a trolley composed of cylindrical-shaped inner and outer holders was selected as the basic model. Based on this model, a cylindrical-based optimal trolley model was proposed. In the basic trolley model, steel was used for the outer holder, and steel, titanium, and aluminum were used for the inner holder. In each case, the most economical shape for the external load of the basic model was newly proposed through the topology optimization process, and the finite element analysis results of the proposed model were compared to define the durability and economics. Here, topology optimization analysis and finite element analysis used the commercial software ANSYS. As a result of optimization, the volume of the outer holder of the trolley was reduced by 58.2% and the volume of the inner holder was reduced by 25.0% compared to the basic model. In the case of stress, a stress increase of 43.2 to 79.2% occurred depending on the material of the inner holder, but it was found to be significantly lower than the yield strength, thereby ensuring safety.

  • This article contains three objectives. First it is to revise unnecessary procedures of a transportation models and transform results of a model into an image. Second objectives is to develop an operational structures which automatically input all data needed from arc-node topology to link-node topology of transportation network. By solving the network discrepancy, time and money for constructing to transportation can be saved. In addition, the rate of errors that my caused during data input process can be reduced. Conclusively, it is found that the integration package may provide user friendliness and reduce the rate of errors. The package can extract informations such as distance between zones and nodes, lane numbers, and hierarchy from arc-node topology for executing SDI. Another advantage of integration is the ability of spatial analysis. The integrated package may provide adequate arrangements of traffic facilities and checking systems of the shortest path. Finally, the database function of GIS package provides various information about study area for transportation analysis.
