Regularization을 이용한 Possibilistic Fuzzy C-means의 확장 (An Extension of Possibilistic Fuzzy C-means using Regularization)

  • Fuzzy c-means(FCM)와 possibilistic c-means(PCM)는 퍼지 클러스터링 영역에서 대표적인 두 가지 방법으로 많은 패턴 인식 문제들에 성공적으로 활용되어져 왔다. 하지만 이들 방법 역시 잡음 민감성과 중첩 클러스터 문제를 가지고 있다. 이들 문제점을 극복하기 위해, 최근 두 방법을 결합하려는 시도가 있어왔고, possibilistic fuzzy c-means(PFCM)는 FCM과 PCM을 목적 함수 단계에서 통합함으로써 두 방법이 가지는 문제점을 완화시키는 성공적인 결과를 보여주었다. 이 논문에서는 PFCM에 regularization을 도입함으로써 PFCM의 잡음 민감성을 한층 더 줄여줄 수 있는 향상된 PFCM을 소개한다. Regularization은 해공간을 평탄화 함으로써 잡음의 영향을 줄이는 대표적인 방법 중 하나이다. 제안한 방법은 PFCM의 장점과 더불어 regularization에 의해 잡음의 영향을 더욱 줄일 수 있으며, 이는 실험을 통해 확인할 수 있다.

Autosomal Recessive Malignant Infantile Osteopetrosis Associated with a TCIRG1 Mutation: A Case Report of a Neonate Presenting with Hypocalcemia in South Korea

  • Osteopetrosis refers to a group of genetic skeletal disorders characterized by osteosclerosis and fragile bones. Osteopetrosis can be classified into autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, or X-linked forms, which might differ in clinical characteristics and disease severity. Autosomal recessive osteopetrosis, also known as malignant osteopetrosis, has an earlier onset, more serious clinical symptoms, and is usually fatal. We encountered a 1-day-old girl who was born full-term via vaginal delivery, which was complicated by meconium-stained amniotic fluid, cephalo-pelvic disproportion, and nuchal cord. Routine neonatal care was provided, in addition to blood tests and chest radiography to screen for sepsis, as well as skull radiography to rule out head injuries. Initial blood tests revealed hypocalcemia, which persisted on follow-up tests the next day. Radiographic examinations revealed diffusely increased bone density and a "space alien" appearance of the skull. Based on radiographic and laboratory findings, the infantile form of osteopetrosis was suspected and genetic testing for identification of the responsible gene. Eventually, a heterozygous mutation of the T cell immune regulator 1, ATPase H+ transporting V0 subunit a3 (TCIRG1) gene (c.292C>T) was identified, making this the first reported case of neonatal-onset malignant osteopetrosis with TCIRG1 mutation in South Korea. Early-onset hypocalcemia is common and usually results from prematurity, fetal growth restriction, maternal diabetes, perinatal asphyxia, and physiologic hypoparathyroidism. However, if hypocalcemia persists, we recommend considering 'infantile of osteopetrosis' as a rare cause of neonatal hypocalcemia and performing radiographic examinations to establish the diagnosis.

Effect of Biophilic-Horticultural Education on Children's Multisensory Enhancement

  • This study aimed to develop a program that can be linked to gardening education activities in elementary students' curriculums and creative experience learning courses, and to apply the developed program to 6th graders in an elementary school located in Seoul. Research was conducted in a large category called biophilia, which named the instinct of human nature and nature throughout the research. The curriculum revised in 2015 was selected for the purpose of the garden education program based on the objectives and contents of the unit, and for the purpose of the class. In the process of developing and implementing the program, experience properties and elements were divided into direct and indirect experience of nature, including shapes and forms found in nature, air, water, plants, weather, animals, and natural materials. The results showed that the biophilic horticultural education program was effective in promoting students' multi senses. In the case of the experimental group, all the multi-sensory areas showed statistically significant differences, especially in the area of environmental literacy, environmental effect and emotional balance including plant cultivation knowledge. There was a relatively smaller difference in the dietary effect area than other areas because of no directional dietary program was included in the developed program. As a result, first, it is expected that the data can be utilized on site as a program or place of activity for students in upper grades. Second, it will be necessary to develop a more diverse program using other biophilic elements that were not covered in this study in order to maximize the effects of biophilic education.

초등학생들의 빛에 대한 이미지 스키마 분석을 통한 개념적 은유 구조 연구 (A Study on Elementary Students' Conceptual Metaphor Structures about Light through Analysis of Their Image Schema)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 빛에 대한 초등학생들의 이미지 스키마를 통해 이들의 개념적 은유 유형을 분석하는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 경상남도 G시의 한 개 초등학교 6학년 학생 162명이다. 이 연구를 위해 분석틀이 고안되었으며, 그 분석틀은 이미지 스키마 분석틀과 체계적 기능 문법 분석틀이다. 학생들의 빛 개념을 묻는 질문지도 개발되었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광원에 대해 학생들은 빛에 대해 두 가지의 구조를 가지고 있음을 보였으며, 그 두 가지는 빛이 광원으로부터 나와 직선으로 공간에 퍼져나간다는 것과 빛이 광원 주위에 정지해 있다는 것이다. 둘째, 물체를 보는 과정에 대한 이해에서는, 학생들은 과학자적 개념을 포함하여 5개의 구조를 나타냈다. 셋째, 빛의 반사에 대한 이해에서는 학생들은 과학자적 개념을 포함하여 4가지의 개념 구조를 나타냈다.

농촌지역 토지이용에 따른 생물다양성 기능 평가 (The Evaluation of Biodiversity Functions According to Land Use in Rural Areas)

  • Rural and agricultural landscapes are important forms of land use in maintaining biodiversity. In addition humans are provided with various public functions from ecosystems and agricultural ecosystems. But the creation of a facility horticultural complex can be a space that can undermine the public interest function of the agricultural ecosystem. Therefore, this study aims to quantify the function of ecosystem services that land use changes affect biodiversity in Korea's rice paddy fields. The area subject to the study was selected as the largest agricultural complex in Korea due to rice paddy fields and land use changes, and field agriculture was also carried out simultaneously. The survey was conducted only in the fields of vegetation, insects, amphibians, and birds, four areas of biodiversity that are believed to have a high impact on changes in land use in agricultural landscapes. The valuation of ecosystem services in four areas of biodiversity derived from this study was evaluated as non-market value. As a result of quantitative evaluation, about 25 species of vegetation were reduced due to changes in land use. The diversity of about 40 species of aquatic insects that inhabit rice paddies among insects has disappeared due to the creation of a horticultural complex. Birds and amphibian reptiles were also found to have decreased diversity and populations. This research is expected to be used in various ways to develop policies to enhance ecosystem service functions.

시모그래피의 조형성을 응용한 현대 패션 디자인의 표현유형과 미적 특성 연구 (Expression types and aesthetic characteristics of modern fashion applying the formativeness of symmography)

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute to the role of lines in creative design development by analyzing the expression types and aesthetic characteristics of modern fashion using geometric formativeness of symmography. A literature study was conducted of works since 2009 to examine the general consideration of lines together with analysis of the concept and characteristics of symmography in the formative arts field, and to analyze the expression types and aesthetic characteristics of modern fashion design using the formativeness of symmography. The infinite sense of formativeness and original expression of symmography are used in formative arts such as space design, installation art, and industrial design. Expression types of modern fashion design using geometric formativeness of symmography can be classified into the following three types: two-dimensional graphic pattern, relief surface, and three-dimensional spatial. First, the two-dimensional graphic pattern type forms an optical pattern, providing individuality and visual interest to the textile design. Second, the relief surface type expresses the plane in various ways, so that the thickness changes according to how lines overlap. Third, the three-dimensional spatial type expands the boundaries of clothing and creates a fantastic spatial beauty. Next, the aesthetic formativeness of fashion design using symmography can be classified into repetitive rhythmicity, geometric self-similarity, and optical spatiality. Symmography enables a myriad of geometric patterns to be developed depending on material, color, and the designer's imagination, and helps inspire a variety of designs in fashion that sculpt a three-dimensional human body.

탄소나노튜브 코팅의 마찰/마모 특성에 대한 나노메쉬 구조의 영향 (Effect of Nanomesh Structure Variation on the Friction and Wear Characteristics of Carbon Nanotube Coatings)

  • In various fields, several studies based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been conducted. The results of previous studies, wherein CNT coatings have been incorporated as solid lubricants, demonstrate that the friction and wear characteristics of CNT coatings can be improved through the absorption/dispersion of the contact pressure by controlling the stiffness of the nanomesh structure comprising CNT strands. In this study, the friction and wear characteristics of the following are compared: CNT coating formed by spin coating of CNT solution, compressed CNT coating, and compressed/heated CNT coating (wherein CNT strands are squeezed through compression and/or heating). It is observed that the friction coefficient of the CNT coating having the largest number of voids between the CNT strands is significantly lower than those of the compressed CNT coating and the compressed/heated CNT coating. The wear tracks of the compressed CNT coating and the compressed/heated CNT coating indicate that some parts become torn or adhere into a lump. However, in the case of the CNT coating, a smooth wear surface is formed by rubbing. Furthermore, as the void space between the squeezed and adhered CNT strands decreases, the resistance to structural deformation increases, thereby resulting in an increased frictional force and a wear pattern that becomes torn or forms a lump. Hence, the results obtained from this study corroborate that the friction and wear characteristics of CNT coatings can be enhanced through the absorption/dispersion of the contact pressure by controlling the stiffness of the nanomesh structure of CNT coatings.

전자소자 열분석을 위한 열반사 현미경 기술 (Thermoreflectance Microscopy for Thermal Analysis of Electronics)

  • 최근 거대 데이터 기반의 미래 기술이 발전함에 따라 전자 소자의 고성능 및 고집적화 추세가 지속되고 있는데, 이는 심각한 발열 문제를 수반하여 소자의 신뢰성을 위협하는 주요 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 효과적인 열관리 대책을 수립하기 위해서는 소자의 구동 환경에서 온도 분포를 정확히 평가하고 방열 경로를 설계하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 소자의 온도 분포를 비접촉 방식의 높은 공간 및 시간 분해능으로 관찰할 수 있는 열반사 현미경 기술을 소개한다. 구체적으로 열반사 현미경의 원리 및 구동 형태를 알아보고, 온도, 공간, 시간 분해능 향상을 위한 최신 연구 동향과 다양한 전자 소자의 온도 및 열적 특성 분석에 적용된 사례를 함께 살펴본다.

인지시학을 적용한 문화재 야행(夜行) 프로그램 구현 전략 (Strategies for the Implementation of Cultural Heritage Night Travel Program Using Cognitive Inspection)

  • 세계화가 진행됨과 동시에 지역화가 이루어지면 지역문화에 대한 관심이 더 높아지고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 흐름에 맞춰 문화재청은 2016년부터 야간형 문화재 관광 콘텐츠로 '문화재 야행(夜行)' 사업을 추진하고 있다. 지역재생 사업의 일환인 문화재 야행은 지역의 문화유산을 중심으로 다양한 역사, 문화 관련 콘텐츠를 융·복합하여 새로운 부가가치를 창출한다. '문화재 야행(夜行)'이 크게 활성화 된 상황이지만, 지속적으로 이어가기 위해서는 변화가 필요하다고 판단된다. 고정된 야행 프로그램(8야(夜))이 전국적인 네트워크를 구축한다는 측면에서는 긍정적이지만, 획일화되어 다양한 형태로 확장하지 못하는 한계가 있기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 야행 프로그램의 의미와 한계를 파악하고, 야행 프로그램에 적용 가능한 인지시학 이론을 고찰하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 인지시학의 '역동적 의미 구성을 위한 원형', '초현실적인 전경', '시간과 공간에서의 모험'이 야행 프로그램에 적용 가능하다는 것을 확인하였다. 실제로 인지시학을 야행 프로그램에 결합해 본 결과, 기존의 야행 프로그램과 차별화 된 야행 프로그램 구현 전략을 제시할 수 있었다.

Health benefits of evidence-based biophilic-designed environments: A review

  • Background and objective: People-nature experiences, which suggest that humans seek connections between nature and other forms of life, were presented by biologist E. O. Wilson in 1984. Biophilic design attributes support environments that can improve human connections to nature. A significant amount of literature on environmental psychology provides empirical evidence that nature benefits humans, and that practical landscape and built environments can be designed to link humans and nature (e.g., the 14 biophilic design patterns). To date, however, there has been no well-done research on reviewing the health benefits of biophilic design. Methods: The paper provides a narrative review on biophilic design and human health. The scope of this article is limited to biophilic-design books and peer-review articles related to "biophilic design," "evidence-based," "benefits," "health," rather than an attempt to identify universal issues with biophilia hypothesis. Results: A total of 45 papers were included in our review, which was related to the top five biophilic design patterns and design: the presence of natural images, the presence of plants, visual and non-visual connections to nature, and material connection with nature. These studies were related to physiology and psychology through direct or indirect connections with nature and experiences in space and place. Conclusion: This study presents two important comparisons of the empirical research on biophilic design and human health that can explain the relationship of people-nature experiences to biophilic design and human health and provides insights into related researches and recommendations for future application of our findings.
