음향 인텐시티를 이용한 결함이 있는 베어링의 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Characteristic of Bearings with a Defect using the Sound-Intensity Technique)

  • The two-microphone sound-intensity technique has been used for the detection of defects in radially loaded ball bearings. The difference in the sound-intensity levels measured for bearings with no defect and for those with intentionally introduced defects of different sizes in their elements under various operating conditions of loads and speeds is demonstrated. A change in the intensity frequency spectrum because of the defects is observed. The results show that the detectability of an outer-race defect is much better than that of on inner-race or ball defect. It is difficult to detect defects at lower speeds. Sound-pressure measurements were also performed fur comparison, and it is shown that the detectability of defects by sound-intensity measurements is better than that by sound-pressure measurements.

  • A method is suggested for the noise source identification using the sound intensity method. The suggested method does not need to install the grid using wire or thread during the sound intensity measurement for the noise source identification. It utilizes a camera to show the grid on the screen not installing the real grid for the sound intensity method.

운율 패턴, 강도, 신호대소음비에 따른 문장 지각 변화 (Perception of sentences varying with prosody pattern, sound intensity, and signal-to-noise ratio)

  • This study investigates how perception of easy sentences varies with prosody pattern, sound intensity, and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) in young adults with normal hearing who were in their 20's. The results showed that the presence of proper prosody pattern in the sentences increased correct perception rate of the target sentences, and that the lower the intensity and SNR, the lower the sentence perception scores. The results also showed that SNR had a greater effect on the sentence perception scores than sound intensity. There was a significant decrease of perception scores starting at the level of 15 dB and +3 SNR for the sentences with prosody pattern, while starting at the level of 18 dB and +6 SNR for the sentences without prosody pattern, ending up with a very poor perception score as sound intensity and SNR gets lower. There was a significant difference in the perception score of the sentences with prosody pattern between 20 year-old group and 21 year or older group in several listening conditions of sound intensity and SNR.

  • Locations and emission characteristics of noise source of rapier loom are important factors greatly. So, noise characteristics of rapier loom were investigated by the noise source identification as a part of experimental methods in this study. To identify the noise sources of the rapier loom sound intensity was measured under machine operation. In addition, frequency spectra of the sound at operator position was measured along with sound intensity to help identify the noise characteristics of the rapier loom. The results indicate that the sound power level occurs along the rapier loom.

  • It is known that the low-intensity sound stimulation really affect to grow the cell. The cellular growth mechanism, however, does not been clearly identified even the effect on the low-intensity sound stimulation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of low-intensity sound stimulation on the alveolar UC-MSC proliferation. Before the low-intensity sound stimulation is applied, the UC-MSC are cultured for 24 hours to facilitate their attachments. The cells are divided into two groups. And each was exposed to a medium with or without the low-intensity ultrasound stimulation at 71dB intensity level. The UC-MSC are again divided into three treatment groups of group 1, 2, and 3 and exposed to a frequency at 50Hz, 100Hz, and 1000Hz, respectively. In the results, it is investigated that the growth rates of UC-MSC for the stimulated groups were higher than those of control groups. In 1000Hz frequency, the number of UC-MSC cell is significantly higher than control groups (p>0.05). We would put the hypothesis that the cell growth could be enhanced by an appropriate low-intensity sound stimulation.

복소음향인텐시티법을 이용한 HVAC의 소음원 검출 (Identification of Noise Source of the HVAC Using Complex Acoustic Intensity Method)

  • The relation between the vibration induced from machinery and the radiated sound is complicated. Acoustic intensity method is widely used to obtain the accuracy of noise measurement and noise identification. In this study, as groundwork, the complex acoustic intensity method is performed to identify noise source and transmission path on different free space point source fields. As an industrial application, the complex acoustic intensity method is applied to HVAC to identify sound radiation characteristics in the near field. Experimental complex acoustic intensity method was applied to HVAC, it is possible to identify noise sources in complicated sound field characteristics which noise sources are related with each other, and certificate the validity of complex acoustic intensity. Especially, it can be seen that complex acoustic intensity method using both of active and reactive intensity is vital in devising a strategy for identification of noise. Also, the vector flow of acoustic intensity was investigated to identify sound intensity distributions and energy flow in the near field of HVAC.

음향인텐시티 벡터를 통해 정확한 음원 위치 추정을 위한 딥러닝 적용 (Application of deep learning for accurate source localization using sound intensity vector)

  • 최근 여러 산업 분야에서 음원 위치 추정의 필요성이 커지고 있다. 기존 음원 위치 추정 방법들 중에서, 음향인텐시티 계측법은 작은 마이크로폰 어레이에서도 높은 정확도를 가지는 장점이 있다. 그러나, 높은 헬름홀츠 수에서의 위치 추정 오차 증가는 이 방법의 한계로 지적되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 헬름홀츠 수에 따른 인텐시티 편향 오차를 딥러닝을 통해 보상하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 정사면체 마이크로폰 어레이에서 헬름홀츠 수에 대해 측정된 음향인텐시티 벡터를 입력했을 때, 보상된 음향 인텐시티 벡터를 도출하는 밀집 층 기반의 딥러닝 모델을 적용하여 정확한 음원 위치의 추정을 가능케 한다. 본 연구의 제안 모델은, 0.1 < kd < 3.0의 모든 음원 방향에 대한 시뮬레이션 데이터를 기반으로 검증하였다. 이를 통해, 딥러닝 기반 접근 방식은 음향 인텐시티 벡터 기반의 음원 추정법을 적용하는데 있어서 측정 주파수 범위를 확장하고 다양한 크기를 갖는 마이크로폰 어레이에 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

음향 인텐시티법을 이용한 주행열차의 음향방사특성의 검토 (Study on the Sound Radiaton Characteristics of Trains by Sound Intensity Method)

  • In order to obtain basic data for the prediction of railway noise propagation, the noise radiation characteristics (source position, radiation directivity, etc) of trains were measured by using the sound intensity method. The measurements were performed at a side of railway by setting an intensity-probe array. As the measurement results, it was found that rolling noise due to interaction between wheel and rail and motor noise radiation from the lower part of train are dominant. The location of main sound sources can be described as being at the height of 0.1m in the center line of track, and the radiation directivity in the cross section of actually running trains are presented as a dipole source.

현장측정을 통한 발코니 창호의 차음성능에 관한 연구 (Investigation of the sound insulation performance of balcony window through field measurement)

  • As with the disappearance of a living room window due to the trend in apartment housing construction that prefers a larger, expanded living room, the sound insulation performance of the balcony window is becoming an important factor to determine the level of indoor noise at an apartment unit. Considering that the indoor noise inside an apartment unit is mandated by law at or below 45dB(A), the balcony window is increasingly assuming an even more important role. Sound insulation performance of the window was measured by examining differences in data involving varying angles of incidence of the sound source as obtained from the same balcony window. Also, acoustic intensity measuring was performed at and around the window to determine its sound insulation quality. Results of measuring on the sound source's angles of incidence indicated that the performance showed some differences in lower frequency ranges, though with no significance. Intensity measuring results showed that the sound insulation performance was reduced near the connection part of the window and the window frame.
