The relationship between Social Media Sports Contact Motivation and Sports Activity

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the degree of participation and the impact of social media sports contact motivation on sports activities. In order to clarify the purpose of this study, a total of 300 students from 150 male and 150 female university students in Gwangju and Jeonnam provinces in 2020 were selected by the convenience sampling method. The survey tool used to achieve the purpose of this study is the questionnaire method. Therefore, the questionnaire, which has already been verified for reliability and validity in domestic and foreign previous studies, was re-quoted, modified, or supplemented for the purpose of this study. For data processing, SPSS Windows 20.0 Version was used. For specific statistical analysis, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed according to the purpose of analysis. The results obtained through these results are as follows. First, it was found that the contact motivation for social media sports partially affected the degree of participation in social media sports. Second, it was found that social media sports contact motivation has a partial influence on sports participation. Third, the degree of social media sports participation was found to have a partial influence on sports participation.

  • Social capital is regarded as the alternative plan and the index of healthy society for constructing social tie through solving social problems on the basis of causal relationship between sports, social capital, and healthy society, in order to accomplish sound society. The role of sports to construct healthy society and social capital is emphasized here. To accomplish healthy society amid various social deviations nowadays, the value of sports should be newly recognized and highlighted among the general public. To attain this purpose, organizing sports club as a voluntary association and facilitating its activities, securing confidence for the sports organization and policies, developing and popularizing sports program to form community and civil society should be embodied. The research field of sports sociology should inquire into the most suitable condition in constructing healthy society and social capital, and should make efforts to find out realistic solutions to satisfy this that purpose. To examine this aspect, cooperative research on micro scale and macro scale of trust as social capital interdisciplinary research into the field of psychology and sociology, research on the methodology of the social network, and critical research are required.

Effects of Participation in Sports for All on the Formation of Social Capital (생활체육 참여가 사회자본 형성에 주는 영향의 실증적 분석)

  • This study is to analyze the effect of participation in sports for all on the formation of social capital. For this purpose, this study used convenience sampling method with the 150 subjects who participated Sports for All in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. and selected 150 questionnaires excluding 30 unsuitable for the data. For data analysis was made by SPSS 17.0, performing exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression model. This analysis reveals that (1) participation eagerness in sports for all influence on influence on the formation of social capital.(social capital consist of information sharing, norms, trust, network) (2) participation period of time and participation frequency in sports for all don't influence on on the formation of social capital. (3) socioeconomic background don't influence on the formation of social capital. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the eagerness in sports for all.

Relationships among Sports Participation Degree, Sports Competence, and Social Support for Middle School Students (중학생의 스포츠 참가 정도와 스포츠 유능감 및 사회적 지지의 관계)

  • The research focus on participation degree and competence in sports and their social support. Moreover, it focus on how the sports participation degree and sports competence affect social support. For the research, 414 middle school students were collected and the t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and the multiple regression analysis was carried on. As a result, boys participated in sports more than girls, but girls show more positive effect on social support from friends than boys. According to grade, the sophomores participated in sports highly, and juniors stronger than sophomores, seniors in case of sports competence and social support from teachers. Scholastic achievements show positive effects on all social support, Income show positive effects on participation frequency, sports competence and social support from friends. Secondly, sports participation degree did not affect the social support directly but affect indirectly through sports competence.

The effect of social network sports community consciousness on sports attitude

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of social network sports community consciousness on loyalty and sports attitude. In order to achieve this research purpose, the population of the study was selected as adult men and women over the age of 20 who are active in the social network sports community in 2022. The sampling method used cluster random sampling to select a total of 300 people, 150 men and 150 women, as research subjects. The survey tool used was the questionnaire method, and the questionnaire whose reliability and validity had been verified in previous studies at home and abroad was used by requoting, modifying, or supplementing it to suit the purpose of this study. It was also structured on a 5-point scale. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, simple regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed on the collected data using the statistical program SPSS Windows 20.0 Version. The results obtained through this process are as follows. First, social network sports community consciousness was found to have a partial effect on loyalty. Second, social network sports community consciousness was found to have a partial effect on sports attitudes. Third, social network sports community loyalty was found to have a partial effect on sports attitudes. Considering these results, various activities such as decision-making process, relationship formation, and opinion expression of modern people are carried out by the O-line community. In addition, while in the past it was a format that led from offline activities to online activities, currently, there are more and more formats that lead from online activities to offline activities. Therefore, modern people's SNS sports community activities provide many experiences, which creates a sense of community and sports attitudes are formed based on this. This can be said to lead to loyal activities.

Social Relation of Cyber Sports Supporter's Community and Social Capital (사이버 스포츠서포터스 공동체의 사회적 관계와 사회적 자본)

  • This study examined social relation of cyber sports supporter's community and social capital as time passes. This study selected spectator sports supporters of cyber sports community based on number of number and history of cyber sports supporter. This community is a representative supporter's club of spectator sports. This study utilized 1,848 members accumulated during three month. To analyze data, Netminer 4.0 and social network analysis were used. The conclusion is following: First, social relation of cyber sports supporter's community showed up dynamic change. Second, social capital of cyber sports supporter's community shows Sports events and training schedules, player transfer, manager, record, game watching and TV watching, cheering, cheering uniform and tools, players, teams and clubs, game photos and video, etc. This is the poor-get-poorer and the rich-get-richer phenomenon.

An Analysis of the Current State of Marine Sports through the Analysis of Social Big Data: Use of the Social MaxtixTM Method (소셜 빅 데이터분석을 통한 해양스포츠 현황 분석 : 소셜매트릭스TM 기법의 활용)

  • This study aims to provide preliminary data capable of suggesting directivity of an initiating start by understanding consumer awareness through analysis of SNS social big data on marine sports. This study selected windsurfing, yacht, jet ski, scuba diving and sea fishing as research subjects, and produced following results by setting period of total 1 month from January 22 through February 22, 2017 on the SNS (twitter, blog) through the Social MatrixTM service of Daumsoft Co., Ltd., and analyzing frequency of mention, associated words etc. First, sports that was mentioned the most out of marine sports was yacht, which was 3,273 cases on twitter and 2,199 on blog respectively. Second, the word which was shown the most associated with marine sports was the attribute showing unique characteristic of marine sports, which was 6,261 cases in total.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce the case and to provide related information for the physical education major to handle and utilize the social big data through the exploratory study for the application of sports industry in the fourth industrial revolution. For this study, data was collected from the article database, which covers the keyword such as 'Social Big Data', 'Sports' and so on. The analyzed articles were 86 articles. As a results, The research on social big data applied to sports industry are as follows: 1) Analysis of major issues related to sports fans' interests and sports events, 2) A study on media sports engagement, 3) The prediction analysis of sports game based on the sentiment analysis, 4) Development of salary estimation model for professional player in sports, 5) Research trend analysis and so on. In conclusion, the social big data analysis technology in the sports industry and management can be utilized variously. Therefore, the specialists of the sports industry and management field need to learn the techniques, to acquire the know-how for the research project, to convert the convergence thinking.

An Integrative Literature Review about Sports Participation and Perceived Benefits

  • Purpose: This study aims to obtain basic data for conceptual establishment of sports participation and perceived benefits by considering prior research on the effects of sports participation to derive variables for perceived benefits of sports participants. Research design, data, and methodology: This study used an integrated literature review. A conceptual model is designed with reference to a prior study by adopting a guiding theory. Based on the key words. The literature collection was conducted online, and the reference period for the literature collection was for studies published between 2015 and 2020. Results: First, a total of seven related variables were derived from the literature analysis related to sports participation and physical benefits. Second, a total of six variables were derived from the literature analysis related to sports participation and mental benefits. Third, a total of four related variables were derived through a literature analysis related to sports participation and social benefits. Conclusions: Health fitness, objectified body consciousness, and social body shape anxiety, including body composition, approach physical benefits among perceived benefits through sports participation, and physical self-efficacy and physical self-concepts are related to physical benefits but are also shown to be related to mental benefits. And successful aging is seen to be close to social benefits and related to some mental benefits. Mental and social benefits can be seen as the variables derived from the results being related to the benefits, and more in-depth exploration of perceived benefits is needed.

Effect of Social Media Engagement of Sports Advertisement on Product Trust and Purchase Intention

  • The purpose of this study is to present supporting data that can suggest a direction for sports advertisement strategy on social media by investigating how differences in social media engagement of sports advertisement affect users' product trust and purchase intention. To achieve this purpose, a total of 810 questionnaires, which were completed by sports-related college students engaged in social media activities using a method for writing a self-evaluation report, were collected, and 765 questionnaires were used as final valid samples after excluding 45 insincerely completed copies. For data processing, analyses of frequency, factor, reliability, correlation, and multiple regression were conducted using the Window SPSS (ver. 23.0) statistical program to draw the following conclusions. First, the social media engagement of the sports advertisement had a significant effect on the trust of the advertised products. Second, the social media engagement of the sports advertisement had a significant effect on the purchase intention of the advertised products. Third, the product trust acquired through the sports advertisement had a significant effect on the purchase intention.
