Under the new media environment this study is designed to investigate how the concept, 'self-efficacy' would be applied in an advertising context. The current study reviews consumer-controlled media environment, consumers' various attitude toward advertising and strategies for coping for advertising. In addition, how self-efficacy has been defined and applied in politics, education, and the Internet was discussed. From the advertising perspective it is interesting to examine how self-efficacy would be defined and applied in the consumers' attitude toward advertising. Lastly, this study will examine effects of self-efficacy on advertising research and advertising industry. For further study on self-efficacy much research needs to be conducted, focusing on conceptual and operational definition. Specifically, scale development and validation tests of 'self-efficacy' should be preceded.
While the endeavor to introduce the service activity in the college education is enlarged, the object of this study is to introduce the concept of service learning in social work education. The 'Service-Learning' is focusing on the practical education, the liaison and participation in community and the promotion of civil awareness which are very important in social work education that focuses on the interest and participation in the human and social problem as practical study. This study contemplates the educational effect of the course of social work combined with service learning. This study verifies the change of the self-efficacy, the altruism, social responsibility as personal growth of students by carrying out the course of social welfare and service activities side by side. To investigate the learning effect qualitative analysis in journal of service activity was done. Through the service learning, students showed the promotion in self-efficacy, social responsibility. And as a result of qualitative analysis, it was found that students could participate in the intervention of family problems, could have lots of understanding of theory, could increase the interest of family welfare, could experience a change of perception about the client. Based on the above mentioned results, this study address that Service-Learning is useful teaching methodology in social work education to accomplish the personal growth of students and promote the learning effects.
Currently, for teenagers, the metaverse is becoming an important space for communication and experience. Due to the development of AI technology, experiences in the metaverse space are diversifying, which means that experiences in the virtual world can affect the real self. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the necessity of establishing a new concept of empathy across the metaverse for the AI era. In accordance with literature studies related to empathy, one was confirmed that the concept of empathy has been changing according to social ideas in times. In addition, with the result of the analysis of recent research trends, it was considered that the current study of empathy is generally taking a view as a measure of 'upright sociality.' In the end, this study suggest the necessity of redefined empathy in order to cultivate upright sociality in the metaverse.
The purpose of this study is conceptual analysis study on the thwarted belongingness, and was based on the conceptual analysis method of Walker & Avant to make clear concept. Thwarted belongingness can be defined by the following attributes: distorted beliefs, insufficient need to belong, a sense of alienation, and insufficient interaction and affection needs. The prerequisites for thwarted belongingness were social isolation, experiences of exclusion or conflict in interpersonal relationships, perfectionist tendencies, and sensitivity to rejection. The consequences occurring as a result of thwarted belongingness were suicidal ideation, decreased happiness and life satisfaction, negative emotions such as anxiety about rejection, depression, shame, loneliness, stress or anger, aggression, hostility and self-criticism, despair, suppression of emotional expression, lethargy, self-exclusion from relationships, and identity confusion. This study is valuable to identify the extent of preventable nursing interventions related to individual mental health and suicidal ideation related to interpersonal relationships, and suggests future tool development and field studies of thwarted belongingness.

Purpose: This study considers the variables related to self-leadership of Korean nursing students and verifies the results of precedent studies through meta-analysis. Methods: This study selected a total of 48 precedent studies regarding the investigation of the correlation between variables related to self-leadership of nursing students conducted between 2009 and 2019 and carried out a meta-analysis. Results: For the effect size of variables related to self-leadership of nursing students, individual characteristics had a medium effect size (ESr=.49) and the effect size was larger for meta-cognition (ESr=.65), emotional intelligence (ESr=.58), and self-efficacy (ESr=.54). The characteristics of nursing competency (ESr=.45) also had a medium effect size and the effect size was larger for professional self-concept (ESr=.60), social support (ESr=.58), and critical thinking (ESr=.56). This result shows that individual characteristics were highly correlated with self-leadership compared to the characteristics of nursing competency. Conclusion: This study is significant in that it verified the effect of variables related to self-leadership and presented the direction and preliminary data for a follow-up study. It is necessary to include variables considering individual characteristics in the development of an educational program for improving self-leadership in the future.
The purpose of this study is to be inquired social and cultural significance of the Grotesque phenomenon in the late 1990's make-up, as well as its experimentalism and avantgardism. The Grotesque is the aesthetic concept, which is composed of ambivalent structure of humor and horror, interest and disgust through join of heterogenous factors, distortion, extreme and overstatement in the patterns and materials of make-up. The Grotesque in the modern make-up is represented in the make-up advertisements and collections. In this paper, the author classified the Grotesque phenomenon with the Kitsch, the Machine, the Animal and the Devil, focused on heterogenous factors. The results are as follows. 1. The Kitsch in the make-up uses not cosmetics but imitations, ready-made goods, and ordinary materials. It expresses modern culture's laziness through shocking self-expression. 2. The Machine in the make-up means silver or white color's make-up, and represents cyber period's arrival through contrary irony, loss of the human value and the personifications of machine. At the same time, it is understood as the curing of human alinetion. 3. The Animal in the make-up utilizes the wild animal's horn, the reptiles'sputum, and the legend's animal. It points out a human false virtual image, and overturns make-up's traditional aesthetic concept. 4. The Devil in the make-up shows vampire's cuspid, demon's horn, artificial nail, and black color's make-up. It raises social irrationality and discrepancy of capitalism, and expresses paradoxically the nature of human life. The Devil in the make-up expresses the creator's innovation, anxiety of fin-de-siecle, and simultaneously criticizes and cures confused reality. It shows also avantgarde implementation of dissolution of traditional aesthetic concept and acceptance ugliness.
This study aims to analyse major changes of Mental Health Promotion and Welfare Service Support Act(MHPWSSA) and critically discuss these changes based on the major discourses on Mental Health Act revision. For this purposes this study reviewed literatures and government reports to understand human rights discourses, welfare discourses, and prevention discourses. Secondly, the major changes of MHPWSSA were analysed and discussed based on those discourses. This study found that MHPWSSA defined the concept of people with mental disorders narrowly, tightened the involuntary admission procedures, introduced welfare service support provisions and mental health promotion provisions. But this study shows that the new legislation may well be criticised due to neglect of the concept of disability and people with psychiatric disability, involuntary admission without mental capacity assessment, neglect of the basic values and principles of self determination and independent living common in welfare of the persons with disability. And the new legislation may be criticised due to overuse of the concept of mental health promotion as encompassing promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.

When enjoying sports activities with friends or others, sportswear has symbolic meanings to express and expect self-concept. Sports players sometimes have trouble when they feel embarrassed by their low skills or care about other people too much. Therefore, researchers tried to find out which feature of sports players affects dependence on brand sportswear along with the effect of wearing conspicuous sportswear on wearer when sports players have a conflict based on Solomon's symbolic interactionism. We proposed that role knowledge and attention to social comparison information (ATSCI) influenced people to depend on and use brand sportswear that influences a reflexive evaluation. Finally, we suggested that a changed self-concept would exert influence commitment to sports. A quantitative study was conducted employing an online survey of 121 people by convenient sampling. In this process, Google Docs was to create the online survey and to collect responses by participants. In data processing, via SPSS 21.0 version for Windows, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, ANOVA, t-test, discriminant and regression analysis were conducted to study the relationship between variables. The finding provided evidence that low role knowledge and high ATSCI create high dependence on brand sportswear and influence people to buy sportswear. When people bought and wore a brand sportswear, they evaluated themselves as professional sports players who were more committed to sports. This study confirmed that brand sportswear was useful for sport players to change self-evaluation and enjoy sports.

Objectives : Children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have problems in social interactions. We compared the effect of 10-session social skill training (SST) among two groups, children with pure ADHD, and those with ADHD with comorbidity. Methods : Consecutive 10-session SST was conducted for 34 children from 2006 to 2012. There were 22 children with pure ADHD (male 20, female 2), and 12 children suffering from ADHD with comorbidity (male 11, female 1). All children took medication as prescribed by their doctors before the start of SST. The Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), the Korean Personality Inventory for Children (K-PIC), the Conner's Rating Scale, the ADHD Rating Scale, and the Home Situation Questionnaire were completed by mothers before and after the SST. All children completed the Child Depression Inventory, the Stat-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children, the Self-Concept Scale and the ADHD Diagnostic System before and after the SST. Results : Only children with pure ADHD showed improvement in anxiety and self-concept in scales rated by children. In the CBCL rated by parents, the pure ADHD group and the ADHD with comorbidity showed improvement in both externalizing and internalizing subscales. In the K-PIC rated by parents, the pure ADHD group showed improvement in most outcomes and ADHD with comorbidity showed positive change in verbal development. Conclusion : These results suggest that SST has significant positive effects on both the pure ADHD and ADHD with comorbidity group. Further research is needed in order to target diverse comorbidity groups with ADHD to improve the effectiveness of the SST.
Purpose - This study aims to identify the effects of communication cues, anonymity, and social presence on group polarization in computer-mediated communication (CMC) settings. Extant literature has introduced some theoretical backgrounds of social presence and SIDE (Social Identity model of Deindividuation Effects) to explain the effects of communication cues and anonymity. The concept of social presence emphasized the mediating role on communication cues and anonymity. However, most literature did not measure social presence and compare group polarization of all condition groups. This does not sufficiently explain the result of group polarization. Research design, data, and methodology - We believe that the direct impact of anonymity on group polarization can provide a more admissible and clearer explanation for the results. In addition, this study categorizes anonymity into two levels, as anonymity of group and anonymity of self. To justify the anonymity view, a laboratory experiment was conducted. The experiment was conducted in communication cues settings (visual cue; without visual cue) and anonymity settings (identified; anonymous). Each of the four settings has 10 groups consisting of five subjects each (total 200 subjects). The subjects are undergraduates from a large university, majoring in business. All experimental procedures and calculations of choice shift and preference change follow the literature. Results - First, the removal of visual cues does not produce a significant impact on group polarization, which cannot be explained by the social presence view. Second, the anonymous condition does not significantly affect group polarization, which also cannot be explained by the social presence view. However, the anonymous condition directly affects group polarization. Specifically, anonymity of self has a stronger effect on group polarization than anonymity of group. The result explains about the leading factor affecting group polarization. This study examines another view of how computer-mediated communication may be associated with group polarization. The process and outcome data from the experiment reveal that group polarization is not affected by level of social presence, but by level of anonymity. Group discussions conducted with visual cue CMC setting and identified CMC setting result in weaker group polarization. Conversely, group discussions conducted without visual cue CMC setting and anonymous CMC setting lead to stronger group polarization. The results of the study have the following implications. First, they provide clues for business organizations to design the most appropriate media conditions and preemptive social conditions to implement when making group decisions through CMC, to maximize achievements, generate amicable agreements, or actively share information. Second, this study can be useful in analyzing different adverse effects generated through Internet use. Conclusions - This research can help explain discussions and decision-making actions on Internet forums, which have recently increased, as well as providing a foundational basis in newly establishing policies for the forums. Finally, it should be noted that many other factors such as group size, topics, and group history may affect group polarization. These should be examined in future studies.
