  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze factors which influence social and economic performance of social enterprises, and to examine the correlation of factors affecting social and economic performance. This study was conducted following the hypothesis that the organizational characteristics(organizational type, certification type, certification year, social service supply type, and external grants) of social enterprises affect social and economic performance, and that significant correlation exists between social and economic performance. This study collected the disclosure materials of 219 social enterprises certified between 2007- 2014 from the directory of the Korean Social Enterprise Promotion Agency. The study results are as follows: First, organizational characteristics affect social performance(i.e. jobs for the vulnerable classes). In addition, certification year and external grants had a positive effect on social performance. Second, the organizational characteristics affect the economic performance(i.e. sales), and certification year and external grants had a positive effect on economic performance. However, organizational type had a negative effect on the economic performance(i.e. sales). Third, analysis found a positive correlation of factors affecting social and economic performance. This study suggests the need to diversify support policies according to the number of authentication years in order to promote self-reliance and sustainability by maximizing the social and economic performance of social enterprises.

Methods: The 7th wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children(2014) was used to analyze 1,113 preschoolers. Sequential mediation effects were analyzed using SPSS Process Macro(Hayes, 2013). Results: Warmth parenting indirectly affected preschooler's social competence (cooperation, assertion, self-control) by yielding sequential mediation effects on self-esteem and peer play interaction. Namely, warmth parenting does not directly affect social competence but does have a significant effect on preschooler self-esteem, which positively affected peer play interaction. This path increases the social competence(cooperation, assertion, self-control) of preschool children. Conclusion/Implications: In order to increase the social competence (cooperation, assertion, self-control) of preschool children, it is important for the preschooler to consider themselves a worthy person and to learn positive interaction techniques through warmth parenting.

  • This paper investigates the asymmetric effect of social sentimental on an individual stock price return. For this purpose, four companies such as POSCO, Korean Electricity, AMORE PACIFIC, KIA Motors are chosen from KOSPI listed companies in terms of dataperspective. The main estimation results are as follows: the positive opinions affect only the stock prices return of three companies while the negative opinions affect all of the companies. It shows that positive or negative texts give asymmetric effect on stock price return and the effect of negative opinions is bigger than that of positive opinions. The results imply that investors are more sensitive to the negatives since they have the tendency of loss aversion. Also, it indicates that subjective opinion on SNS can be used as the proxy for the investment sentiment.
