POFA 혼입률에 따른 시멘트 모르타르의 초기 물성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Initial Physical Properties of Cement Mortar with POFA)

  • Demands for the replacement materials of cement have been increasing due to social problems such as CO2 reduction and exhaustion of resource. Recently industrial by-products, for example GGBFS and fly ash, have been used as an admixture. However Studies on POFA have been insufficient. POFA, which is used in this study, was obtained from burning of palm oil shell and husk from a southern part of Malaysia. In this study, early compressive strength and porosity of cement mortar with POFA are measured, and appropriate fraction of POFA is 10%. In terms of porosity, POFA is used as a filer in mortar. Later, activity index of POFA and long-term experiments are needed.

  • The safety concern of slipping on floors in South Korea has come to the fore as a social problem, but the occurrence of such accidents has not decreased. Slip and fall accidents have several causes, but they are especially common when there is soapy water on the floor during a shower or a bath. Despite this situation, it can be said that there is a lack of standards on surface contamination materials used in floor slip resistance testing. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a survey to identify the components and quantity of soapy water that actually results from a user taking a shower, and the standardization of contamination materials. Based on the results of this experiment, we provide a surface contamination material that can replace the soapy water used in floor slip resistance testing.

  • The demand of blasting work in civil engineering work is increasing because of the increasing social infra-structural construction work. The blasting method creates large benefit in regard to the economic aspect and shortening construction period. This method, however, has problems to be solved in respect to the blasting vibration and noise. Blasting vibration and noise have been studied by many workers, regarding to the impact on the structure and human body. This investigation is concerned on the affect of blasting vibration and noise on the animals which is relatively new. In general, animals have inferior mental capacity than human in hearing but have higher sensitivity on the vibration and noise due to blasting. The object of this study is to investigate an appropriate measurement of lessening damage on the animals by vibration and noise due to blasting.

안전효능감과 산업재해의 관계 분석 (Analysis of the relationship between self-efficacy beliefs and industrial accidents)

  • Two studies were conducted to examine the relationship between self-efficacy beliefs and industrial accidents. In the preliminary study, focus group interviews were conducted with employees working in manufacturing and construction sector, safety managers, and government officials to understand factors that were associated with industrial accidents. Based on interviews, a questionnaire survey was constructed to assess individual factors (such as self-efficacy beliefs, following safety procedures, life-satisfaction, and stress) that were identified as affecting industrial accidents (such as minor and major accident rates). The questionnaire were administered to a total of 917 respondents (542 employees working in the manufacturing and construction sector, 210 safety managers, and 165 government employee officials overseeing government regulations). The result indicated that three subscales of self-efficacy for employees (self-regulation, enlisting social support, and controlling the environment) were negatively correlated with the company's industrial accident rates. Moreover, those employees with higher self-efficacy were more likely to follow safety procedures and had higher life-satisfaction and lower stress levels. For safety managers, the self-efficacy beliefs were positively correlated with better implementation and higher effectiveness of the educational programs and negatively correlated with their company's accident rates.

  • SOC(Social Overhead Capital) projects such as road, power plant, airport or telecommunication facility construction require a large scale of cost, a long period of time and management of a number of sub-contractors. So systematic and efficient management tool in SOC projects is inevitable. Information system provides a valuable tool which can integrate and manage the large volume of information for SOC projects. This study investigates and analyzes the information system of nuclear power plant construction project. Based on this study, we can suggest the direction for designing information system for SOC projects.

  • Social and environmental pressures draw greater significance on the recycling of the waste. Particularly, waste concrete is particularly crucial among the construction wastes in terms of conservation of natural construction resources as well as disposal crisis. The technology to recycle the waste concrete has been improved. This study has various replacement levels of natural fine aggregate with recycled fine aggregate while coarse aggregate is completely replaced with the recycled coarse aggregate and herein fundamental properties investigated include compressive strength, shrinkage and dynamic modulus of elasticity. As a result, it is anticipated that the recycled aggregate concrete can be successfully applied to structural concrete members provided a proper recycling process, mix design and curing method are practiced.

  • Recently construction of new transmission line is getting harder because of social hostility to transmission tower. Howevere, load is converged in metropolitan area and power plants near this area are old and life of generator will end soon. Therefore, power to supply load in this area should be transmitted from east coast area and southern area. For these reasons, securement of transmission capacity without new transmission line construction is important. In this paper, effect of one circuit AC line change to DC transmission at the same transmission tower on the system available transfer capacity is analyzed.

  • The purpose of this study is introduction of social and economic benefits of environmental improvements of Korea green road certification system. Focus of Evaluation Criteria is possibility of quantification on environmental improvements. Proposed evaluation items is noise, air pollution, water quality, ecological and green spaces, waste, and space resistance. The results of this study is expected to be used to support of Green Roads Rating System in korea.
