Change of Cervical Angle According to Smartphone using Time (스마트폰 사용 시간이 목뼈 각도 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • PURPOSE: This study uses X-rays investigate how university students' smart phone use affects the cervical vertebral angle. METHODS: Ninety-two randomly selected students agreed to participate in this study. The participants' number of hours of smart phone use was gathered using a questionnaire. An X-ray of the participants' cervical vertebrae was taken, and the cervical vertebral angle was measured using the Cobb and the absolute rotation angle (ARA) method. Also, the relation between pain and hours of smart phone use was identified using a visual analog scale (VAS). Using SPSS ver18, the relationships among the cervical vertebral angle and the items in the questionnaire were identified and a frequency analysis, an independent t-test, and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) were calculated. RESULTS: The study showed that an increase in the number hours of smart phone per day led to cervical lordosis(p<0.05). The relationships between points of smart phone addiction and cervical vertebral angle have a negative correlation (p<0.05). Therefore, there are the higher smart phone addiction points, the decrease the cervical vertebral angle. CONCLUSION: The results of the study showed that increase in smart phone use lead to cervical lordosis, and smart phone addiction scores resulted in decreased in the cervical vertebral angle.

Improvement of RRT*-Smart Algorithm for Optimal Path Planning and Application of the Algorithm in 2 & 3-Dimension Environment (최적 경로 계획을 위한 RRT*-Smart 알고리즘의 개선과 2, 3차원 환경에서의 적용)

  • Optimal path planning refers to find the safe route to the destination at a low cost, is a major problem with regard to autonomous navigation. Sampling Based Planning(SBP) approaches, such as Rapidly-exploring Random Tree Star($RRT^*$), are the most influential algorithm in path planning due to their relatively small calculations and scalability to high-dimensional problems. $RRT^*$-Smart introduced path optimization and biased sampling techniques into $RRT^*$ to increase convergent rate. This paper presents an improvement plan that has changed the biased sampling method to increase the initial convergent rate of the $RRT^*$-Smart, which is specified as m$RRT^*$-Smart. With comparison among $RRT^*$, $RRT^*$-Smart and m$RRT^*$-Smart in 2 & 3-D environments, m$RRT^*$-Smart showed similar or increased initial convergent rate than $RRT^*$ and $RRT^*$-Smart.

  • The existing smart farm technology has been systematized for the mass production rather than the consumer. There are many problems such as economical aspect to apply to actual rural environment due to aging. The purpose of this study is to apply smart farm technology based on the applicability of population aged in rural areas. Due to the heat wave, the crops in general greenhouse cultivation facilities suffered from damage such as sunlight damage. To minimize such damage, adjust the temperature and humidity environment or install a light-shielding film. However, the workers in the rural areas are aging and the elderly who are farming alone have a lot of difficulties in doing so. In the case of people with weak physical strength, there is a danger that they may lead to safety accidents when carrying heavy loads. In this paper, we propose 'Smart Palm capable of automatic transportation function', applying small smart vehicles that follow workers to existing smart farms to improve and prevent these problems. It is a smart farm that performs the control functions of the existing smart greenhouse environment, installs the rail for each trough, and has a vehicle that follows the worker. The smart app can directly control the greenhouse and the vehicle remotely manually.

  • Nowadays, the rapid progress and worldwide use of smart-media(SNS) has resulted in coming of the smart media convergence age. In practice, however, the effectiveness of smart media convergence society is limited by the difficulties of using it, which include accessibility, waiting for loading, clutter, old information, privacy risks, expensive communication, etc. The conquest of these difficulties must be policy target of broadcasting and telecommunication for high quality of communication life. From this perspective, this paper proposes a new policy of broadcasting and telecommunication based on the dynamic quality of life for the smart media convergence society. This smart convergence policy will not promote only the development and production of smart media contents but also its stable supply and it will secure the accessibility and privacy. In conclusion, this paper reveals that the components of quality of life are important elements of broadcasting and communication policies which will eventually lead to the popular use of smart media and enhance its quality.

A Study on the Defined and Realized Attributes of SMART Education (스마트교육의 속성과 구현 실태에 관한 연구)

  • Since the development of Smart technology and the advent of various Smart media, a learning environment for individual learners and the school has been changing. In the stream of changing learning environments, in 2011, the government announced SMART education strategies, introducing the term officially, "SMART education." With the governments' efforts to develop and implement SMART education in school, many policies has been enacted and many research has been conducted and increased gradually. However, as policies of SMART education have initiated in situation where there is no clear understanding in regard of SMART education, many researchers and teachers confused of SMART education and its identity and attributes, even though it has been 6 years since the concept was introduced. Unfortunately, SMART education has been implemented as one type of instructional methodology as utilizing Smart technology. Thus, in this research, we tried to build theoretical foundation of SMART education through analyzing former research on SMART education to define the attributes of SMART education. To examine how SMART education has been implemented in terms of its attributes, also, we analyzed research that conducted instructional design and implementation on SMART education in actual learning environments. As the results of former research analysis, the attributes of SMART education include Information and Communication Technology, open learning environment, self-directed learning, customized learning, and social learning. In majority of research, SMART education focused on utilizing Smart technology and media in teaching and learning environments but self-directed, and customized learning were less adapted in SMART learning environments. In the following research, how to improve educational benefits of SMART education through adapting original attributes of SMART education need to be examined.

A Study on the Establishment of Smart Factory through the Environmental Factors and Absorption Capacity of Small and Medium Businesses (중소기업의 환경요인과 흡수역량을 통한 Smart Factory 구축 연구)

  • Many small and medium-sized enterprises are deploying Smart Factory without due consideration of the circumstances in which the entity is in or outside of the entity, such as environmental changes and the capabilities of its members. Therefore, utilization and effectiveness are also low after deployment. This study verifies 'the establishment of a Smart Factory through the environmental factors and absorption capabilities of small businesses' through empirical research. The survey was received by people working for small and medium-sized companies that have established Smart Factory. The results of the study showed that first, environmental factors within and outside the company had a positive effect on the absorption capacity within the company. Second, the absorption capacity within a company has had a positive effect on the deployment of a Smart Factory. Based on the above proof, it has been proved to be effective if the core areas of the Smart Factory are built on the basis of the company's internal and external environmental factors and absorption capabilities when constructing Smart Factory in small businesses. In the future, we will study the achievements of smart factory construction.

The Effect of Both Employees' Attitude toward Technology Acceptance and Ease of Technology Use on Smart Factory Technology Introduction level and Manufacturing Performance (종업원 기술수용태도와 기술 사용용이성이 스마트공장 기술 도입수준과 제조성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of each of the two technology acceptance factors(employees' attitude toward smart factory technology, and ease of smart factory technology use) on the introduction level of each of the three smart factory technologies (manufacturing big data technology, automation technology, and supply chain integration technology), and in turn, the effect of each of the three smart factory technologies on manufacturing performance. This study employed PLS statistics software package to empirically validate a structural equation model with survey data from 100 domestic small-and medium-sized manufacturing firms (SMMFs). The analysis results revealed the followings. First, it is founded that employees' attitude toward smart factory technology influenced all of the three smart factory technology introduction levels in a positive manner. In particular, SMMFs of which employees had more favorable attitude toward smart factory technology tended to increase introduction levels of both automation technology and supply chain integration technology more than in the case of manufacturing big data technology. Second, ease of smart factory technology use also had a positive impact on each of the three smart factory technology introduction levels, respectively. A noteworthy finding is this : SMMFs which perceived smart factory technology as easier to use would like to elevate the introduction level of manufacturing big data technology more than in the cases of either automation technology or supply chain integration technology. Third, smart factory technologies such as automation technology and supply chain integration technology had affirmative impacts on manufacturing performance of SMMFs. These results shed some valuable insights on the introduction of smart factory technology : The success of smart factory heavily depends on organization-and people-related factors such as employees' attitude toward smart factory technology and employees' perceived ease of smart factory technology use.

  • Mobile phones users are not only able to use smart phone services in real time whenever and wherever they desire, but also they can acquire appropriate information that they need. The features of smart phone services and users are examined in this study because there are not enough studies on such unique features of smart phone services. In accordance with the results of the study the features of smart phone services and users can be categorized as follows: 1) the requisite features of smart phone services are immediate connectivity and. 2) The requisite features for smart phone users are user friendliness and user innovation. 3) The requisite features of smart phone technology are security and linkage.

  • Numerous city problems have arisen in some tourist cities as tourists enter the city beyond the limits of its capacity. As an alternative to this problem, the discussion of smart tourism cities has led many cities to pursue urban planning with the aim of transforming them into smart tourism cities. Therefore, the present study attempted to discuss the city self-reliance that smart tourism cities need to solve a number of problems and grow as a happy city, both residents and tourists, who are the ultimate goal in the long-term goals. More specifically, this study aims to provide basic data for the economic growth of cities that are most fundamental in city's self-reliance by assessing the economic value of smart tourism. To achieve this research purpose, the economic value of smart tourism was estimated using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), and the results showed that each person is willing to pay 220,709 won. This is about 10,000 won higher than the 211,163 won announced by the National Travel Survey in 2017, which is estimated to be of higher economic value when recognized as smart tourism. On the basis of these results, this study provided basic policy data in promoting smart tourism cities as well as expanding understanding of smart tourism.

Impacts of Perceived Risks for Smart Shoes on the Purchase Intention by Types of Smart Shoess (스마트슈즈 위험지각이 스마트슈즈 유형별 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the impact of perceived risks for smart shoes based on purchase intention by type of smart shoes as well as how they are mediated by fashion innovativeness and technology innovativeness. It also compares the differences between awareness, interest and perceived risk of smart shoes by gender and age. This study was conducted based on men and women in their 20s to 50s who provided 246 samples for data analysis using SPSS 25.0. The results show significant differences in the awareness, interests and perceived economic risk of smart shoes by gender and age. The perceived performance risk had a positive effect on the purchase intention of smart shoes for GPS. Perceived aesthetic-psychological risk had a negative effect on all types of smart shoes. Perceived economic risk had a negative effect on the purchase intention of smart shoes for entertainment; in comparison, perceived social risk had a positive effect on the purchase intention of smart shoes for GPS and entertainment. Fashion innovativeness and technology innovativeness also mediated the relationship between perceived economic risk as well as the purchase intention of smart shoes for healthcare, GPS and entertainment.
