Understanding the Continuous Intention of the Smart Phone Use: The Case of a Delivery Services Company in Logistics (스마트폰의 지속적 사용에 관한 이해: 물류분야의 택배서비스업 사례)

  • The rapid changes in business environments are also applicable to the delivery service field. Numerous companies are using smart phones in order to perform work of the delivery service field that is rapidly developing every year. Smart phones established ubiquitous work environments where access to the server of the head office is possible through telephones, scanners, and the internet anywhere and anytime. However, although smart appliances including smart phones have been diffused, empirical analysis of use of them in actual has not been attempted much. In this regard, current study empirically analyzes how connectivity and context-awareness function of smart phones based on the TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) influence the continuous intention to use through trust, usefulness, and ease of use. The results indicate that the connectivity and context-awareness function, which are natures of smart phones, had impacts on the ease of use and trust, but not on the usefulness. Based on these results, this study suggests implications and future research directions regarding the planning and realization of smart appliances.

  • In recent, rapid and accurate processing for logistics have been required, according as logistics has grown dramatically. Especially, identifying, locating, or tracking objects in ports are important, because ports are gateways to extended markets. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a smart tag system for ubiquitous port logistics. Our solution consists of three parts: an active RFID to identify objects, an electronic container seal to charge with security of containers, and a RTLS system to locate objects. Because identification technology for logistics can be read by heterogenous systems, compliance with the international standard is one of the most critical issues. This paper introduces the method to maintain compliance with ISO, and conducts some verifications. In addition, we analyze the system performance such as lifetime, identification rate, and time for multiple tag identification.

A Study on the Effect of the Bidding Stage Factors of Logistics Outsourcing Service on Trust, Cooperation and Service Satisfaction (물류아웃소싱 서비스의 입찰단계 요인이 신뢰, 협력 및 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The bidding phase for logistics outsourcing services is critical for both shippers and logistics companies. According to the logistics bidding phase, the shipper should provide logistics operation information to logistics companies to resolve uncertainty. In addition, the logistics company can win the contract volume that was placed in the bid by expressing their experience and know-how, and proposing to share the risks and benefits of the shipper's logistics operation. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the factors that can be identified during the bidding phase for logistics outsourcing and how these factors affect the satisfaction of logistics outsourcing services. Based on the factors identified in the preceding studies on logistics outsourcing partnership factors and those on logistics outsourcing determinants, a survey was conducted on experts engaged in logistics companies, performing logistics for domestic shippers and analyzed using Smart-PLS. This study presents the following implications. First, in the logistics bidding phase, the shipper should provide its logistics operation information to logistics firms to resolve uncertainties. Details An in-depth explanation of the operation details will be presented via the bidding presentation, and on-site tours of manufacturing plants and logistics centers should also be carried out if necessary. Second, in the bidding phase, logistics companies should appeal through proposals to their competitiveness, such as experience and knowledge of the logistics of the shipper, and also consider alliances with other logistics companies to supplement their insufficient logistics services. Third, logistics companies should make proposals to share profits and risks through logistics outsourcing during the bidding phase, propose accepting risks from environmental uncertainties of the shipper within its capacity to an acceptable extent, and share the benefits of carrying out the shipper's logistics.

  • With the proliferation of smart devices, applications under ubiquitous environment must provide transparent access to computer resources. However, existing u-Logistics systems can not properly react on such requirements, because the status information of objects is input only in fixed milestones by system's operators. In this paper, we introduce an event notification service suitable for u-Logistics environment. The system is based on RFID infrastructure and provides real-time tracking by combining the event of objects with location information received from GPS satellites. The system also provides a graphical user interface based on a state/transition approach, making it easy that clients facilitate definition of profile, and uses XML structure to more easily represent and exchange events.

Comparison of Customers Perception of Feature and Smart Phone Users Mainly in 20s

  • The property of the mobile phone is taking important role to choose it. In the present situation, exploring, comparing and analyzing the important properties of regular mobile phone(feature phone) and smart phone are very meaningful study. Therefore, the survey was carried out to get the properties of feature phone and smart phone and analyze the difference of those phones. And proposed the important variables for customer satisfaction which must be given priority. The result showed that 'design' and 'Quality' are important to both mobile phone user groups. The problems with mobile phones currently in use were 'poor performance' to feature phone users and 'expensive charge' and 'poor A/S' to smart phone users. Two groups also showed significant difference with the customer satisfactions, and smart phone user group showed higher satisfaction. For smart phone user group, four factors are induced from the properties but 'Hardware Quality' (representing 'call Quality', 'A/S', 'Convenience to use', 'Battery life') and 'Design & Function'(representing 'Internet', 'Convergence Functions', 'Design, 'Color') have significant and positive effects on Customer Satisfaction.

  • In pattern classification, feature selection is an important factor in the performance of classifiers. In particular, when classifying a large number of features or variables, the accuracy and computational time of the classifier can be improved by using the relevant feature subset to remove the irrelevant, redundant, or noisy data. The proposed method consists of two parts: a wrapper part with an improved genetic algorithm(GA) using a new reproduction method and a filter part using mutual information. We also considered feature selection methods based on mutual information(MI) to improve computational complexity. Experimental results show that this method can achieve better performance in pattern recognition problems than other conventional solutions.

  • Recent worldwide food products for consumers due to frequent incidents of interest in the distribution of safe products is increasing. In addition, an FTA with South Korea and the United States because of the increasing international movement of agricultural product and ensure the safety of the consumer confidence is an important factor for competitiveness. Therefore, national and international growth environment introduced in stores history, distribution history information such as the need to query the system. In this paper, smart phone-based implementation of traceability management system is proposed.

Factors Affecting the Choice of International Freight Forwarders for Korean Shippers (국내 화주의 국제물류주선기업 선정요인)

  • A freight forwarder plays an important role in global trade and logistics by connecting worldwide nodes such as shippers, ports, and airports. Most freight forwarders in Korea are small and do not provide a sophisticated and professional service. This study aims to develop a strategy for Korean freight forwarders to the world-class 3PLs which they have to establish the strategy on how shippers select their freight forwarders. We conducted a higher-order factor analysis using the PLS-SEM techniques on the SmartPLS program to confirm the importance and significance of each factor, while considering relevant previous research. The findings suggested that shippers chose their freight forwarders for international logistics activities primarily by the reliability and forwarder service factors. Therefore, freight forwarders in Korea have to strengthen confidence and widen their service to shippers in order to become leading logistics companies.

  • In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, manufacturing is the implementation of smart factories through digital transformation, and refers to consumer-centered intelligent factories that combine next-generation digital new technologies and manufacturing technologies beyond the existing factory automation level. In order to successfully settle such a smart factory, it is necessary to train professionals. However, education for smart factories is difficult to have actual field mechanical facilities or overall production processes. Therefore, there is a need for a system that can visualize and control the flow and process of logistics at the actual production site. In this paper, the logistics flow of the actual site was implemented as a small FMS, a physical system, and the production process was implemented as a digital system. In real-time synchronization of the physical system and the digital system, the location of AGV and materials, and the process state can be monitored to see the flow of logistics and process processes at the actual manufacturing site. The developed digital twin system can be used as an effective educational system for training manpower in smart factories.

Analysis of Kano's Quality Attributes for Smart Car: An Exploratory Study (스마트카의 Kano 품질속성 분석에 관한 탐색적 연구)

  • Smart car is a vehicle which maximizes convenience, safety, and user experience. The traditional vehicle style will be replaced by a smart car. The objective of this paper is to find essential quality attributes that consumers want. We provide a method to select a best smart car reflecting their preference based on the quality attributes. We derive Kano's quality attributes by an exploratory survey and show an example to implement their decision using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method. As a result, the quality attributes were classified into two groups of attractive quality and indifference quality. The respondents evaluated that the safety of smart cars was more important than the convenience and user experience. However, the smart car was required more functions related to the convenience criteria. These results will provide important implications for smart car design.
