  • Applied by periodic Stimulating Currents in Bonhoeffer -Van der Pol(BVP) model, chaotic and periodic phenomena occured at specific conditions. The conditions of the chaotic motion in BVP comprised 0.7182< $A_1$ <0.792 and 1.09< $A_1$ <1.302 proved by the analysis of phase plane, bifurcation diagram, and lyapunov exponent. To control the chaotic motion, two methods were suggested by the first used the amplitude parameter A1, $A1={\varepsilon}((x-x_s)-(y-y_s))$ and the second used the temperature parameterc, $c=c(1+{\eta}cos{\Omega}t)$ which the values of ${\eta},{\Omega}$ varied respectlvly, and $x_s$, $y_s$ are the periodic signal. As a result of simulating these methods, the chaotic phenomena was controlled with the periodic motion of periodisity. The feasibilities of the chaotic and the periodic phenomena were analysed by phase plane Poincare map and lyapunov exponent.

  • This paper proposes the aggregated modeling and control of integated boost-flyback converter (IBFC) for understanding of dynamics characteristic and designing of relevant controller. The basic concept of the aggregated modeling is to substitute the boost or the flyback converter with an equivalent current source. Since each converter with equivalent current source corresponds to the basic boost and flyback converters, the overall mathematical process is significantly simplified for the modeling. Afterwards each result is combined to construct the complete model of the IBFC, and the relevant controller is designed through the achieved small-signal model. Simulation and experimental results show excellent agreement with the theoretical expectations.

  • A systematic procedure for the elements of system state matrix in multimachine systems with loads and eigenvalue technique which utilize stage matrix have widespread application in the analysis of small signal stability. Synchronous machines are represented by either a two-axis model or classical model. The interrelationship of submatrices of system matrix is investigated. Once elements of one submatrix are determined, they can be used to calculate the elements of the other submatrix. The approach is useful in the eigenvalue sensitivity analysis for various initial conditions and for the adjustment of generator controller parameters. It is illustrated for a three-machine and nine-bus multimachine system(WSCC system) with constant impedance loads.

  • This paper deals with the PSS modeling of Ulchin N/P #1 as well as the generator and excitation system modeling by utilizing the recorded data from AVR step test, which has been performed by entering small voltage signal into the AVR summing point. In addition to it. two recorded results obtained from the AVR step test with PSS sunning and without PSS running have not only been compared each other on the time domain, but also they heve been analyzed with FFT analysis on the frequency domain; thus, the desirable effects of running PSS in Ulchin N/P #1 on power system have been explicitly confirmed. Finally, the derived PSS model parameters lead to good matches between simulation results and recorded data.

  • This paper proposes impedance-based stability analysis of DC-DC boost converters, where a harmonic state space (HSS) modeling technique is used. At first, the HSS model of the boost converter is developed. Then, the closed-loop output impedance of the converter is derived in frequency domain using small signal modeling including frequency couplings, where harmonic transfer function (HTF) matrices of the open-loop output impedance, the duty-to-output, and the voltage controller are involved. The frequency response of the output impedance reveals a resonance frequency at low frequency region and frequency couplings at sidebands of switching frequency which agree with the simulation and experimental result.

  • To meet increasing traffic requirements in mobile networks, small base stations (SBSs) are densely deployed, overlapping existing network architecture and increasing system capacity. However, densely deployed SBSs increase energy consumption and interference. Although these problems already exist because of densely deployed SBSs, even more SBSs are needed to meet increasing traffic demands. Hence, base station (BS) switching operations have been used to minimize energy consumption while guaranteeing quality-of-service (QoS) for users. In this study, to optimize energy efficiency, we propose the use of deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to create a BS switching operation strategy with a traffic prediction model. First, a federated long short-term memory (LSTM) model is introduced to predict user traffic demands from user trajectory information. Next, the DRL-based BS switching operation scheme determines the switching operations for the SBSs using the predicted traffic demand. Experimental results confirm that the proposed scheme outperforms existing approaches in terms of energy efficiency, signal-to-interference noise ratio, handover metrics, and prediction performance.

  • Normally, the artificial intelligence algorithms are widely applied to the optimal controller design. Then, it is expected that the best output performance is achieved. Unfortunately, when resulting controller parameters are implemented by using the practical devices, the output performance cannot be the best as expected. Therefore, the paper presents the optimal controller design using the combination between the state-space averaging model and the adaptive Tabu search algorithm with the new criteria as two penalty conditions to handle the mentioned problem. The buck-boost converter regulated by the cascade PI controllers is used as the example power system. The results show that the output performance is better than those from the conventional design method for both input and load variations. Moreover, it is confirmed that the reported controllers can be implemented using the realistic devices without the limitation and the stable operation is also guaranteed. The results are also validated by the simulation using the topology model of MATLAB and also experimentally verified by the testing rig.

  • We propose an effective deep learning model to denoise scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) image series, named Noise2Atom, to map images from a source domain 𝓢 to a target domain 𝓒, where 𝓢 is for our noisy experimental dataset, and 𝓒 is for the desired clear atomic images. Noise2Atom uses two external networks to apply additional constraints from the domain knowledge. This model requires no signal prior, no noise model estimation, and no paired training images. The only assumption is that the inputs are acquired with identical experimental configurations. To evaluate the restoration performance of our model, as it is impossible to obtain ground truth for our experimental dataset, we propose consecutive structural similarity (CSS) for image quality assessment, based on the fact that the structures remain much the same as the previous frame(s) within small scan intervals. We demonstrate the superiority of our model by providing evaluation in terms of CSS and visual quality on different experimental datasets.

  • Dynamic pressure transducer needs to be flush-mounted on hardware due to frequency response characteristics of pressure transmission system. However, it is sometimes necessary to be mounted in recessed configuration due to insufficient space for sensor installation and for protection of sensor from thermal damage. Dynamic response characteristics should be considered due to distortion of original dynamic pressure signal in the pressure transmission system. In this study, small perturbation model and 2nd order reduced model were compared with experiments and a guideline for selecting a frequency response model was suggested.

  • Generally, the buck converter controller was designed to control output voltage of the converter. However, design of the controller in photovoltaic power conditioning system is different from general design. the controller in photovoltaic power conditioning system controls input voltage of the converter(output voltage of the solar cell) for MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking). This paper proposes novel buck converter model which can control input voltage of the converter. We integrate this model with a model of solar cell. and linearize at the operating point(MPP). In addition, we determine whether or not suitable for the general linear controller design into small and large signal analysis.
