A Study on the Mix Design and Quality Factors of the Combined High Flowing Concrete Using High Belite Cement

  • This study investigates experimentally into the design factors and quality variations having an effect on the properties of the combined high flowing concrete to be poured in the slurry wall of Inchon LNG in-ground receiving terminal. Especially, high belite cement and lime stone powder as cementitious materials and viscosity agent in order to improve self-compaction and hydration heat are used in this study. Water-cement ratio(W/C), fine aggregate volume ratio(Sr) and coarse aggregate volume ratio(Gv) as design factors of the combined high flowing concrete are applied to determine the optimum mix design proportion. Also quality variations for sensitivity test are selected items as followings. (1)Surface moisture(5cases) and (2)Fineness modulus of fine aggregate(5cases), (3)Concrete temperature(3cases), (4)Specific surface(3cases) and particle size of lime stone powder. As experimental results, water-cement ratio, fine and coarse aggregate volume ratio are shown as the optimum range 51%, 43% and 53% separately considering site condition of slurry wall. Also quality factors by sensitivity test should be controlled in the following ranges. (1) Surface moisture :to.67% and (2)Fineness modulus 2.6$\pm$0.2 of fine aggregate, (3)Concrete temperature l0-20t, (4) Specific surface 6,000$\textrm{cm}^2$/g and particle size 9.7$\pm$1.0${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of lime stone powder. Based on the results of this study, the optimum mix design proportion of the combined high flowing concrete are selected and poured successfully in the slurry wall of LNG in-ground tank.

분무 건조 알루미늄 실리케이트 과립 분말 제조를 위한 슬러리 최적화 연구 (Optimization of slurry for manufacturing spray-dried aluminum silicate granular powder)

  • 본 연구는 공침법을 통하여 비정질 알루미늄 실리케이트 분말을 제조하였으며, 슬러리의 알루미늄 실리케이트 분말 함량 및 분산제 첨가량을 조절하여, 슬러리의 특성에 따른 분무 건조 알루미늄 실리케이트 과립 분말 제조의 영향 분석 및 최적화 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 알루미늄 실리케이트 슬러리의 분말 함량 27.5 wt% 이하, 슬러리의 분산제 첨가량 0.8 wt% 이상, pH 6~9의 중성 분위기의 슬러리에서 안정적으로 과립 분말이 제조되었으며, 슬러리의 분말 함량 20, 22.5 wt%에서 과립 분말의 평균 입도는 약 14 ㎛, 슬러리의 분말 함량 25, 27.5 wt%에서 과립 분말의 평균 입도가 약 19 ㎛인 것을 확인하였다. 분무 건조 과립 분말의 형상은 슬러리의 분산안정성 및 점도 영향을 받으며, 분말 함량이 높을수록 평균 입자 사이즈가 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.

볼밀 공정 중 점도와 음향 데이터의 실시간 수집 및 상관관계 분석 (Real-time Collection and Correlation of Viscosity and Acoustic Data During Ball Milling Process)

  • In this study, acoustic and viscosity data are collected in real time during the ball milling process and analyzed for correlation. After fast Fourier transformation (FFT) of the acoustic data, changes in the signals are observed as a function of the milling time. To analyze this quantitatively, the frequency band is divided into 1 kHz ranges to obtain an integral value. The integrated values in the 2-3 kHz range of the frequency band decrease linearly, confirming that they have a high correlation with changes in viscosity. The experiment is repeated four times to ensure the reproducibility of the data. The results of this study show that it is possible to estimate changes in slurry properties, such as viscosity and particle size, during the ball milling process using an acoustic signal.

한외여과를 이용한 폐 CMP Slurry의 분리에서 압력의 영향 (Pressure Effect on Ultrafiltration of Used CMP Slurry)

  • CMP (Chemical mechanical polishing) is inevitable process to overcome $0.2{\mu}m$ wire thickness in semiconductor industry. In this study, effect of pressure to separate used CMP slurry into solid and liquid for recycle and reuse by ultrafiltration was investigated. Also, water quality after the ultrafiltration such as turbidity and TDS was evaluated. The material of membrane used in the study was PVDF. The used CMP contained 0.5% of solid content and then concentrated up to 18% by weight. The used CMP can not be concentrated higher than 18% because of viscosity and abrasion of pump. The tested feed pressures were 22.1, 29.4 and 36.8 psi. The results have shown that operating at 36.8 psi has advantages on operation time and total flux. The specific flux showed some variation at 1 to 15 of concentration factor but no difference after 15 of concentration factor. Mass balance of solid at initial stage of the operation showed some unbalance because of deposition of solid on the membrane, which was main reason to reduce flux. Turbidity was very stable at lower than 0.2NTU for 22.1 and 36.8 psi of feed pressure.

  • Almost all concrete structures have many inevitable cracks for various reasons such as drying shrinkage, heat liberation of cement, fatigues or repeating loads and movements. Conventionally, they are repaired with epoxy materials. The Epoxy resins used by repair materials are different from properties of the base concrete materials such as thermal and mechanical properties - thermal expansion coefficients, bending strength. And the epoxy resin cannot release the water inside the concrete structure and cause corrosion of the steel bars. In this study, before the experiment got launched, we had analyzed cement and slag. Then We blended the two grades of ultra fine cement using high blaine cement and slag. And the cement slurry was produced by water and suprplasticizer to each blended ultra fine cement in various conditions. The slurry produced by each conditions was evaluated with flow properties such as viscosity, dropping time, segregation and observation of dry surface after injection.

  • Mn-Zn ferrite powders were prepared by alcoholic dehydration, using coprecipitation method. Then the effects of organic dispersant and polymeric binder concentration on stability and casting of slurry were discussed. Citric acid, the organic dispersant and polyvinylacohol(PVA), the non-ionic binder, were selected as additives of slurry. With variation of concentration of water, citric acid and polyvinylalcohol(PVA), optimum forming conditions were determined from viscosity and density. To compare with dry process, density and microstructure of sintered body formed by uniaxial die pressing were observed.

하이브리드형 방식 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리의 인장특성 및 접착성 (Tensile Properties and Adhesion of Hybrid-Type Anti-Corrosion Polymer Cement Slurry)

  • 건설구조물에서 보통철근의 부식을 방지하기 위하여 에폭시 도장 철근이 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 에폭시 도장철근은 성능과 코스트 면에서 불리하며, 특히 취성적이고, 부착성 및 현장 가공성 등의 취약점 때문에 현장에서 사용상의 제약을 받고 있다. 본 연구는 에폭시 도장 철근을 대체할 수 있는 도장재료로서 유기계 폴리머와 시멘트의 무기계를 혼합한 하이브리드 (hybrid)형 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리를 개발하기 위한 것으로서, 특히 인장특성과 접착성에 관한 연구이다. 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리는 4종류의 폴리머 디스퍼션과 혼화재로서 플라이애쉬와 실리카퓸을 혼입하여 제작되었으며, 도장두께, 인장특성, 접착성 및 내굴곡성 시험을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리의 점도는 폴리머 디스퍼션의 종류에 따라 크게 영향을 받았으며, 플라이애쉬를 혼입함에 따라 약간 감소하였다. 또한 폴리머-결합재비 100%에서 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리의 적정 도장두께가 확보되었으며, 도장두께는 물-결합재비와 폴리머-결합재비에 의해 다양화 할 수 있었다. 철근의 도장을 위한 적정 도장 두께는 부착강도, 접착성 및 내굴곡성을 고려할 때, 보통 $150{\sim}250{\pm}50{\mu}m$ 범위였다. 본 연구에서 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리의 인장특성 및 접착성, 그리고 도장강의 내굴곡성은 양호하게 평가되어, 향후 에폭시 도장철근을 대체할 수 있는 재료로 사용가능성을 확인하였다.

멍게껍질로부터 정제된 섬유소 첨가 빵반죽의 물리적 및 제빵의 품질특성 (Rheological Properties of Wheat Flour Dough and Qualities of Bread Prepared with Dietary Fiber Purified from Ascidian(Halocynthia roretzi) Tunic)

  • 멍게껍질로부터 정제된 섬유소 슬러리를 첨가한 빵반죽의 물리적 및 제빵의 품질특성을 조사하였다. Farinograph는 멍게껍질섬유소 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 흡수량의 증가를 보였다. 반죽도달시간 및 반죽형성시간은 섬유소 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 짧아졌고, 안정도에서는 변화를 보이지 않았다. 약화도는 멍게껍질섬유소 첨가량이 증가할수록 약화도가 커졌다. Extensograph에서는 섬유소 첨가량이 증가할수록 흡수율은 증가하였고, 신장도 및 신장저항도는 감소하였다. R/E값은 섬유소 첨가비율이 높을수록 감소하였다. Amylograph에서는 멍게껍질 섬유소 첨가량이 증가할수록 최고점도는 감소하였다. 멍게껍질 섬유소 첨가량이 증가할수록 식빵의 loaf volume 및 용적비가 감소되는 결과를 보였고, 멍게껍질 섬유소 슬러리 20% 첨가까지는 빵의 관능적 품질에 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 섬유소 첨가 식빵은 보습성을 높혀 빵의 경화를 지연시킴과 함께 저장성 향상 효과를 보였다.

The Effects of Suspension Composition on Defects in Aqueous Tape Casting of Alumina Ceramics

  • In aqueous tape casting of alumina slurry systems, the relationships between the suspension compositions and the defects of the dried tapes were discussed. The suspensions compositions were controlled with the ratios of the solids, water and organics binder contents. The effects of the thickness of dried tape and kinds of binder system were also examined. In the defect free region, the apparent viscosity showed nearly same value due to the count balancing effect of solid and organic binder content on the apparent viscosity. When water content was constant, increasing solid led to decrease of organic binder content. The defect free region was narrowed with increasing of casting thickness. When linear type acrylic emulsion binders system (D1000 and D 1035) were used, defect free zone formed the belt type in the triangle of solid, water and organic binder content according to the line of constant water contents. However the defect free region was not found in the cross-link type emulsion binder system (D 1050).

Modelling the performance of self-compacting SIFCON of cement slurries using genetic programming technique

  • The paper explores the potential of applicability of Genetic programming approach (GP), adopted in this investigation, to model the combined effects of five independent variables to predict the mini-slump, the plate cohesion meter, the induced bleeding test, the J-fiber penetration value, and the compressive strength at 7 and 28 days of self-compacting slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCON). The variables investigated were the proportions of limestone powder (LSP) and sand, the dosage rates of superplasticiser (SP) and viscosity modifying agent (VMA), and water-to-binder ratio (W/B). Twenty eight mixtures were made with 10-50% LSP as replacement of cement, 0.02-0.06% VMA by mass of cement, 0.6-1.2% SP and 50-150% sand (% mass of binder) and 0.42-0.48 W/B. The proposed genetic models of the self-compacting SIFCON offer useful modelling approach regarding the mix optimisation in predicting the fluidity, the cohesion, the bleeding, the penetration, and the compressive strength.
