  • The most of the design engineers for construction has academic background of bachelors degree. Theories for advanced composite structures are too difficult for such engineers and some simple but accurate enough methods are necessary. The senior author has reported that some laminate orientations have decreasing values of B$_{16}$, B$_{26}$, D$_{26}$, and D$_{26}$ stiffnesses as the ply number increases. Such plates above behave as special orthotropic plates and simple formulas developed by the senior author[1, 3] can be used. Most of the bridge and building slabs on girders have large aspect ratios. For such cases further simplification is possible by neglecting the effect of the longitudinal moment terms(M$_{x}$) on the relevant partial differential equations of equilibrium. In this paper, the result of the study on the subject problem is presented.ted.d.

Reshoring effects on deflections of multi-shored flat plate systems under construction

  • RC flat plates that have no flexural stiffness by boundary beams may be governed by a serviceability as well as a strength condition. A construction sequence and its impact on the distributions of construction loads among slabs tied by shores are decisive factors influencing immediate and long term performances of flat plate. Over-loading and tensile cracking in early-aged slabs significantly increase the deflection of a flat plate system under construction. A reshoring work may be helpful in reducing slab deflections by controlling the vertical distributions of construction loads in a multi-shored flat plate system. In this study, a change of construction loads by reshoring works and its effects on deflections of flat plate systems under construction are analyzed. The slab construction loads with various reshoring schemes are defined by a simplified method, and the practical calculation of slab deflections with considering construction sequences and concrete cracking effects is applied. From parametric studies, the reshoring works are verified to reduce construction loads and slab deflections.

  • In recent years, strengthening by steel plate, carbon fiber sheets, and carbon fiber laminate in spotlighted in order to repair and rehabilitation of R/C slabs. In this study, 3 method of rehabilitation are analyzed from the tests. Test parameters are the width of cracks, the method of repair and rehabilitation, the magnitude of pre-load. Deflection, failure load, strains of reinforcing bar, strains of sheet and plates are measured during tests. The failure mode and separption load analyzed from these measured data.

Approximate analyses of reinforced concrete slabs

  • Procedures are investigated by which nonlinear finite element shell analysis algorithms can be simplified to provide more cost effective approximate analyses of orthogonally-reinforced concrete flat plate structures. Two alternative effective stiffness formulations, and an unbalanced force formulation, are described. These are then implemented into a nonlinear shell analysis algorithm. Nonlinear geometry, three-dimensional layered stress analyses, and other general formulations are bypassed to reduce the computational burden. In application to standard patch test problems, these simplified approximate analysis procedures are shown to provide reasonable accuracy while significantly reducing the computational effort. Corroboration studies using various simple and complex test specimens provide an indication of the relative accuracy of the constitutive models utilized. The studies also point to the limitations of the approximate formulations, and identify situations where one should revert back to full nonlinear shell analyses.

비균질 Pasternak지반 위에 놓인 집중질량을 갖는 후판의 자유진동 (Free Vibrations of Thick Plates with Concentrated Masses on In-homogeneous Pasternak Foundation)

  • Recently, as high-rise buildings increase steeply, sub-structures of them are often supported on in-homogeneous foundation. And there are many machines in sub-structures of buildings, and slabs of sub-structures are affected by vibration which they make. This paper deals with vibration of plates with concentrated masses on in-homogeneous foundation. Machines on plates are considered as concentrated masses. In-homogeneous foundation is considered as assigning $k_{w1}$ and $k_{w2}$ to Winkler foundation parameters of central region and side region of plate respectively, and foundation is idealized to use Pasternak foundation model which considered both of Winkler foundation parameter and shear foundation parameter. In this paper, applying Winkler foundation parameters which $k_{w1}$and $k_{w2}$ are 10, $10^2$, $10^3$ and shear foundation parameter which are 10, 20 respectively, first natural frequencies of thick plates with concentrated masses on in-homogeneous foundations are calculated.

p-Version 비선형 유한요소모델링과 실험적 검증에 의한 팻취 보강된 RC보와 슬래브의 극한강도 산정 (Numerical Prediction of Ultimate Strength of RC Beams and Slabs with a Patch by p-Version Nonlinear Finite Element Modeling and Experimental Verification)

  • 팻취 보강된 철근콘크리트 구조물 해석을 위한 p-version 비선형 유한요소 모델이 제시되었다. 이방성 적층평판이론에 기초를 둔 제안된 모델은 Total Lagrangian기법에 기초한 von Karman의 대변형-소변형률 이론과 증분소성이론(incremental theory of plasticity)을 적용하였다. 콘크리트의 경화법칙(hardening rule)과 그에 따른 파괴기준을 고려하고, 단부 계면 층분리 모델(plate-end interfacial debonding model) 즉, 보강판 끝 부분에서의 콘크리트 탈락에 대한 기준으로서 Oehlers Model과 Raoof and Zhang Model을 사용하였다. 콘크리트는 두께 방향으로 층상화기법(layered model)이 이용되며, 철근과 보강판은 환산층(smeared reinforcing layer)으로 계산되도록 하였다 적분형 르장드르 다항식이 형상함수로 사용되며, 절점에서의 응력값 산출을 위해 Gauss Lobatto 수치적분법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 p-version 유한요소법을 사용하여 RC구조물에 대한 수피해의 정확도 및 모델의 단순성을 높인 수 있도록 하였다. 따라서, 철근과 콘크리트모델에 대한 이론적 근거는 기존의 연구문헌에 근거를 두었으며, 수치해석의 적정성은 팻취 보강된 RC보와 슬래브에 대한 문헌의 실험치 및 해석치와 비교 분석되었다.

UHPC 바닥판 슬래브의 뚫림전단강도 (Punching Shear Strength of Deck Slabs Made of Ultra High Performance Concrete)

  • 강섬유보강 초고성능 콘크리트(UHPC)는 압축강도가 200MPa에 이르고, 강성 및 인성이 크기 때문에 이를 이용하면 구조 부재를 얇고 가볍게 설계하는 것이 가능하다. 본 논문은 UHPC를 교량의 바닥판 슬래브에 적용하기 위해서 뚫림전단(punching shear)에 대한 저항능력을 평가한 것이다. 6개의 정사각형 슬래브를 제작하여 4변 완전고정 상태에서 뚫림전단 실험을 수행하였다. 슬래브의 두께는 40mm와 70mm였고, 재하판의 형상비는 1.0~2.5 범위였다. 40mm 실험체는 최대하중 이후에 연성적인 변형률 연화구간이 길고, 70mm 실험체는 상대적으로 더 취성적인 뚫림파괴를 보였다. 기존의 여러 뚫림전단강도 평가식을 이용하여 실험결과를 분석하였는데, 두께가 작은 40mm 실험체에서는 Ductal$^{(R)}$ 및 JSCE의 식이, 그리고 70mm 실험체에서는 Harajli et al. 및 ACI-Ductal$^{(R)}$의 제안식이 상대적으로 실험에 근접한 값을 예측하였다. 그러나 전반적으로 실험결과를 잘 예측하지 못하였으므로 실제 파괴메커니즘에 근거한 새로운 식을 제안하였다. 새로 제안한 식은 실험결과를 비교적 잘 예측하는 것으로 나타났다.

Simulations of short- and long-term deflections of flat plates considering effects of construction sequences

  • The structural designs of RC flat plates that have no flexural stiffness by boundary beams may be governed not by strength conditions but by serviceabilities. Specially, since over-loading and tensile cracking in early-aged slabs significantly increase the short- and long-term deflections of a flat plate system, a construction sequence and its impact on the slab deflections may be decisive factors in designs of flat plate systems. In this study, the procedure of simulating slab deflections with considering construction sequences, concrete cracking, and long-term effects is proposed. The proposed method is practically useful, as it can predict well the slab deflections at construction and service stages only with a few input data. The proposed method is verified by comparisons with measured results in a real-scale test.

변단면률의 변화에 대한 개구부를 갖는 판의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of Plates with Openning about Variation Ratio)

  • This paper has the objects of deciding dynamic instability regions of thick plates by finite element method and providing kinematic design data for mats and slabs of building structures. In this paper, dynamic stability analysis of tapered opening thick plate is done by use of Serendipity finite element with 8 nodes considering shearing strain of plate. To verify this finite element method, buckling stress and natural frequencies of thick pate with or without in-plane stress are compared with existing solutions. The results are as follow that this finite element solutions with $4{\times}4$ meshes are shown the error of maximum 0.56% about existing solutions, and obtained dynamic instability graph according with variation of opening positions.
