In this study, the models for a double-diffusive thermohaline system heated from below were developed and the governing equations were established taking account of the density variation with time. The six order Runge-Kutta method was used for the solution of the simultaneous governing differential equations and the temperature and salt concentration distributions and height of each layer within the system were predicted. As the result of this study, it was found that the predicted values with the convective layer growing proportionality constant of 0.18 showed a good agreement with available experimental data. It was also found that the effect of density change with time on the temperature profile in the bottom convective layer could not be negligible.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the substitution among production factors of Korean distant water longline fisheries in IATTC waters. In the analysis, the translog function which have one output variable of total cost and input variables of labor, fuel, fishing gear, and capital was established and it was transformed into simultaneous equations by each cost. Then, variables of equations were estimated by SUR (seemingly unrelated regression) model. Since distant water longline fisheries is a fishing type with high fuel usage, substitution of fuel with other factors was mainly analyzed. Results showed a substitute relation between fuel and labor as well as fuel and fishing gear, while a complementary relation between fuel and capital. In addition, it was analyzed that magnitude of fuel elasticity with other factors would be inelastic.

지구 중력장 내에 위치한 물체는 연직 아래 방향의 힘을 받고 있다. 중력장 내에서 물체의 운동을 기술하기 위하여 운동상태 방정식을 이용한다. 자유 낙하하는 물체를 해석할 때 기준 방향은 연직 하방을 +y으로, 연직위로 던져 올린 물체를 해석할 때 기준방향은 연직상방을 +y으로, 연직 아래로 던져 내린 물체를 해석할 때, 기준 방향은 연직 하방을 +y으로 선택하여 해석함이 일반적이다. 이 논문에서는 두 벡터의 스칼라 곱 (즉, 도트 곱)을 이용하여 연직 상방 또는 하방 두 경우를 방향으로 선택하여 구성한 벡터 운동 상태 방정식(vector kinematics equations)을 해석의 결과가 서로 일치함을 제시한다. 두 벡터의 스칼라 곱 (즉, 도트 곱)을 이용하여 물체의 상태 방정식를 해석한 예는 선행 연구에서 거의 찾아볼 수가 없다. 이 결과를 이용하면, 수평면의 방향 또는 빗각을 이루는 방향의 초속도로 던져 올리거나 던져 내린 물체의 운동 상태를 해석하기 위하여 연직 기준 방향을 상방 또는 하방으로 임의 선택할 수가 있다.

In industrial multivariable plants, it is often the case that all of plant outputs are measured not simultaneously, but seriallu. While Reference 1 proposed a special type of observer (referred to as "serial-sampling" type obserrversL. which was provento be very effective in this situation, it alsopointed out that the observer may have some minor problems in case of practical applications. In this paper, it isshown that these kind of problems can be resolved by proving the existence of the solution of the simultaneous equations (35) of Reference 1.

This paper proposes a continuous hitting by a flexible link hammer. This hammer system is used only the first mode of vibration for a desired hitting. The input of the hammer driver for a continuous hitting is obtained from numerical solutions of two sets of non-linear simultaneous equations which satisfy the hitting conditions. Being too complicated, these numerical calculations are not useful for online processing. Therefore, the multi-layered neural networks are applied to the generation of the input patterns of the hammer driver. The trained network outputs agree well to the numerical solutions.

This paper reports on the measurement of the vane motion in a positive displacement small vane pump. The capacitive method using ceramic vane is proposed to measure the vane motion. This method enables us to measure only radial motion of the vane regardless of the motions of other directions. With simple experiments and solutions of simultaneous equations, the indirect compensation of measured signal was performed.

The Classical multi-server heterogeneous queuing system can be more generalized by using the concept of the switching rules. The descriptions of these systems, the relations among the state probebilities at the various points of interest, and comparisons with the single-server system will be presented. Instead of using the imbedded markov chain we set up the simultaneous equations for the state probabilites by the supplementary variable method.

A process model including the effects of both the texture development and ductile damage evolution In plane strain rolling is presented. In this process model, anisotropy from deformation texture and deterioration of mechanical properties due to growth of micro voids are directly coupled Into the virtual work expressions for the momentum and mass balances. Special treatments in obtaining the initial values of field variables in the nonlinear simultaneous equations for the anisotropic, dilatant viscoplastic deformation are also given. Mutual effects of the texture development and damage evolution during plate rolling are carefully examined in terms of the distribution of strain components, accumulated damage, R-value as well as yield surfaces.
