Robust parameter design is an off-line production technique for reducing variation and improving the quality of products and processes by using product arrays. However, the use of the product arrays usually requires a large number of runs. To overcome the drawback of the product array, the combined array can be used. Also optimizing multiple responses is increasingly important in industry. Using simultaneous optimization measures, we can deal with the multiple response case. In this paper we compare the simultaneous optimization using the Taguchi's product array with using the combined array. And models possible to set on combined arrays are also investigated and compared with the cases of product arrays.

There was no significant difference in morbidity and mortality between those that received simultaneous operation for coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease versus those that received coronary artery bypass graft alone. Simultaneous operation is also cost effective. A 46 year-old patient with resting chest pain and intermittent claudication was diagnosed as unstable angina and Leriche's syndrome. We performed simultaneous revascularization for coronary artery stenosis with internal mammary artery and right gastroepiploic artery and a bifurcated vascular graft interposition between in the aorta, left common iliac and right femoral arteries for Leriche's syndrome. The postoperative coronary angiogram and aortogram revealed a good patency of the arterial conduits and vascular graft. He has been followed for 12 months without any problem.

New forming technologies are being introduced to automotive manufacturing processes. Among them, a simultaneous forming is one of the innovative forming technologies to be able to reduce production time and cost. Several parts can be simultaneously manufactured by the process, while the conventional stamping demands the same number of die sets with the number of parts. In this study, the automotive rear floor side member was manufactured by the simultaneous forming. The position and the size of initial blank were determined by forming analyses and try-outs, and the blank movement during the forming was controlled by introducing the spotweld.

An approach to the simultaneous optimal design of structure and control system for large free-free flexible beam is presented. The flexible beam is modeled by the finite element method. And the reduced model of small degree of freedom is constructed by use of modal analysis. The tapered beam is considered so that the number of design variables is not dependent on the increasing number of finite elements. The width of several points of tapered beam and control gain are taken as design variables. The shape of beam and control gain are optimized simultaneously for the minimum weight of total structure including control system subject to the constraints of the magnitude of displacement of beam. It is shown that the simultaneous optimal design of structure and control systems is indeed useful.

This paper presents a methodology based on evolutionary optimization for simultaneously optimizing design parameters of controller and components of plant. Genetic programming(GP) based bond graph model generation is adopted to open-ended search for the plant. Also GP is applied to represent the controller with a unified method. The formulations of simultaneous plant-controller design optimization problem and the description of solution techniques based on bond graph are derived. A feasible solutions for a plant/controller design using the simultaneous optimization methodology is illustrated.

본 논문에서는 고속 디지털 회로에서 발생하는 Simultaneous Switching Noise (SSN)를 감소하기 위한 다층 기판 구조를 제안하고 시간 영역 시간 차분법 (Finite Difference Time Domain Method)을 이용하여 그 효과를 확인하였다. 제안된 구조는 전원 평면과 접지 평면사이에 전도성 유전체를 전체 또는 부분적으로 삽입한 구조로 혼신 전압파의 크기를 각각 최대 85%, 55% 까지 줄일 수 있어 고속 고성능 디지털 시스템 구현에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있다.

In this study, we propose several simultaneous tests to detect the difference between means and variances for the two-sample problem when the underlying distribution is normal. For this, we apply the likelihood ratio principle and propose a likelihood ratio test. We then consider a union-intersection test after identifying the likelihood statistic, a product of two individual likelihood statistics, to test the individual sub-null hypotheses. By noting that the union-intersection test can be considered a simultaneous test with combination function, also we propose simultaneous tests with combination functions to combine individual tests for each sub-null hypothesis. We apply the permutation principle to obtain the null distributions. We then provide an example to illustrate our proposed procedure and compare the efficiency among the proposed tests through a simulation study. We discuss some interesting features related to the simultaneous test as concluding remarks. Finally we show the expression of the likelihood ratio statistic with a product of two individual likelihood ratio statistics.

최근, 광파거리측량기(EDM)가 트래버스측량과 3변측량에 널리 활용되고 있는 추세에 비추어, 본 연구에서는 Electronic Total Stations (Set 3)을 이용, 개합 트래터스망을 엄밀히 조정하기 위하여 측각과 측거를 고려한 동시조정법으로 엄밀조정을 행하였으며, 또한 관측거리 및 배각수에 따라 측각에 발생하는 각종 우연오차를 검토해 보았다. 그리고 본 동시조정법과 컴파스측정 및 트랜싯트법칙을 비교 검토한 결과, 측각과 측거를 고려한 동시조정법이 정학도가 가장 좋아 타조정법에 비해 실용성 및 적용의 타당성이 입증되었다.

The recurrent intracerebral hemorrhage[ICH] in hypertensive patients is not an unusual event, but the simultaneous occurrence of multiple ICH is rare. A 70-year-old woman presented with bilateral simultaneous hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhages in both thalami. The complaints of the patient were unconsciousness [semicomatose mental state] and quadriparesis Grade II. The patient was managed conservatively. At discharge, the patient was awake [drowsy mental state], but Grade III according to the Glasgow Outcome Score. This paper reviews the clinical relevance, possible etiology, and treatment of bilateral thalamic ICH.

The spectral correction matrix has been established to study the simultaneous complextions between metals and a ligand, and it eliminated the mutual influence among the complexes. The two sensitive reations between iron(Ⅱ) and 1-(6-bromo-2-benzothiazolylazo)-2-naphthol(BBTAN) and zinc (Ⅱ) and BBTAN have been investigated and applied to the simultaneous determination of Zn and Fe at pH 8.5 in the presence of triton x-100. This method gave the simples determination of the characteristic constants of the complexes. For the analysis of natural water, foods and other samoles, the recoveries of Fe and Zn were between 92 and 109% and between 91 and 104%, and their relative standard deviations were less than 5.5 and 11%, respectively.
