An analytical procedure on the base of the substructure synthesis and assumed modes method is developed to investigate the flexibility effect of bladed disk assembly on vibrational modes of flexible rotor system. In modeling the system, Coriolis forces, gyroscopic moments, and centrifugal stiffening effects are taken into account. The coupled vibrations between the shaft and bladed disk are then extensively investigated through the numerical simulation of simplified models, with varying the shaft rotational speed and the prewist and stagger angles of the blade. It is found that the Coriolis and inertia forces and the inertia torque, which are induced by the one nodal diameter modes of the bladed disk and vary depending upon the stagger and prewist angles, lead to the coupled motions of the shaft and the bladed disk.

In this paper, in order to overcome shortcomings of manual inspection for the automotive PWM Shaft, we developed an automated inline inspection system. The automated inline inspection system consists of the work feeder unit, conveying unit, outer diameter check unit, run-out and roundness check unit, machine vision, defective separation unit and status alarm unit. We used the machine vision system for automatic inspection process and designed the inline systems for automatic feeding and selecting process. Also the repeated operation test was performed in order to verify the precision and reliability of the proposed automated inline inspection system.
In this paper a general solution method is presented to obtain the unbalance response orbit from the finite element based equations of motion of a gear-coupled two-shaft rotor-bearing system, whose shafts rotate at their different speeds from each other. Particularly, are proposed analytical solutions of the maximum and minimum radii of the orbit. The method has been applied to analyze the unbalance response of a 800 refrigeration-ton turbo-chiller rotor-bearing system having a bull-pinion speed increasing gear. Bumps in the unbalance response of the driven high speed compressor rotor system have been observed at the first torsional natural frequency due to the coupling effect of lateral and torsional dynamics. Further, the proposed analytical solutions have agreed well with those obtained by a full numerical approach. The proposed analytical solutions can be generally applied to obtain the maximum and minimum radii of the unbalance response orbits of dual-shaft rotor-bearing systems coupled by bearings as well.
In this study, design the core part of the driving of the robot. The power of the driving is window motor for automobiles obtained by using a method of directly to the motor shaft of the worm gear type. The decelerator consists of a worm gear to receive power from the motor shaft, Helical gear contact to worm gear, a pinion gear to be connected in line with the helical gear, and an output shaft to be engaged to the pinion gear. Drive system by using the power from the motor shaft based on the deceleration gear designed by the gear ratio set by the gear teeth increases the torque.
The torsional and axial vibrations of shaft system have been calculated independently because of both the limitation of computing time and the complexity of crankshaft model. In actual system, however, the torsional and axial vibrations are coupled. Therefore, in recent, many works in the coupled vibration analysis have been done to find out the more exact dynamic behavior of shaft system. The crankshaft model is very important in the vibration analysis of shaft system because most of excitation forces act on the crankshaft. It is, however, difficult to establish an exact model of crankshaft since its shape is very complex. In this work, an efficient method is proposed to construct the stiffness matrix of crankshaft using a finite element model of half crankthrow. The proposed and existing methods are compared by applying to both a simple thick beam with circular cross section and an actual crankshaft.
This paper investigates the stick-slip phenomena on spinning shaft. The modeling of the shaft is considered only torsional direction with nonlinear friction. The friction is adopted a negative friction-velocity slope. Based on the model, a nonlinear equation of motion is derived and analyze the stick-slip phenomena. In order to analyze the time dependent response, the nonlinear formulations are numerically solved by nonlinear Newmark method. The numerical results reveal the stick-slip phenomena on the spinning shaft system.
This paper presents theoretical analyses for unstable vibrations caused by the couple of bending and torsion in a rotating shaft driven through a universal joint. A driving shaft is assumed to be rigid and to rotate with a constant angular velocity. The driven shaft system consists of a flexible shaft with a circular section and a symmetrical rotor attached at a point between the shaft ends. Equations of motion derived hold with an accuracy of the second order of shaft deformations, and are analyzed by the asymptotic method. The vibrations become unstable when the driving shaft rotates with the angular velocity to be approximately equal to half of the sum of the natural frequencies for whirling and torsional vibrations.
Proper shaft alignment is one of the most important actions during the design of the propulsion system. The stiffness of recently designed marine propulsion shafting has been increasing remarkably, whereas hull structures have become more likely to deform as a result of optimized design of the scantlings and the high tensile steel. Therefore, to obtain the optimum status in shafting alignment at the design stage, it is strongly recommended that the change of bearing reaction force depending on ballast/load condition, the bending moment force occurred by propeller thrust, elastic deformation of bearing occurred by vertical load of shaft mass and etc., should be considered. This paper dealing with introduction of shaft alignment concerning long shaft for high speed vessel and review its reliability evaluation theoretically.
In this paper, a dynamic model for the rotor shaft-coupling-blade system is developed. The blades are attached to a disk and driven by an electric motor shaft which is flexible in torsion. We assumed that the shaft torsional flexibility is lumped in the flexible coupling which is usually adopted in rotor systems. The Lagrangian approach with the small deformation theory for both blade-bending and shaft-torsional deformations is employed for developing the equation of the motion. The assumed modes method is used for estimating the blade transverse deflection. The numerical results highlight the effects of both structural damping of the system and the torsional stiffness of the flexible coupling to the dynamic response of the blade. The results showed strong coupling between the blade bending and shaft torsional vibrations in the form of inertial nonlinearif, stiffness hardening and softening.
