이 논문의 목적은 디지털 게임 플레이에서 나타나는 기호 해석 과정을 설명하고, 각 해석 주체의 해석 의도를 통해 나타나는 의미의 층위를 규명하는 데 있다. 디지털 게임의 일차적인 저자는 게임 디자이너이며, 여기에 플레이어의 활동이 더해짐으로써 텍스트의 의미가 비로소 실현된다. 플레이어는 게임 텍스트에 존재하는 기호 해석을 통해 게임 플레이를 진행하며 이 과정에서 게임 텍스트를 일차적으로 만든 디자이너의 의도와 이것을 플레이하는 플레이어의 의도가 뒤섞이게 된다. 디자이너는 생산한 기호가 플레이어의 올바른 행위를 유발하기를 바라고 플레이어는 기호를 올바로 해석하여 자신의 의도대로 플레이를 진행시키기를 원한다. 이에 본고에서는 각 주체의 의도 실현 양상을 다섯 가지로 나누어 살펴보고, 특히 플레이어의 의도에 따른 텍스트 생성을 살핀다.

Clothing, as a signsystem, implies many different meanings according to different circumstances. Korean fashion designers' designs also imply various meanings. Therefore, the purpose of this study is the exploration of Korean fashion designers' design characteristics through Greimas' Semiotic Square. As sublimity is the most representative characteristic of modern fashion design, this study discusses the in-depth aesthetic meaning innated in Korean fashion design through the semiotic square proposed by Greimas. To fulfill this goal, Korean fashion designers were sought after on the internet; consequently, four Korean designers became subjects for the analysis. Their collections were analyzed according to predefined criteria adopted and modified from previous studies. Sublimity characteristics were applied to Greimas' and Floch's semiotic squares for further interpretation. Results of the study indicate that sublimity, which is typically found in Korean fashion designs, varies depending on different points of view. In terms of culture, this study discovered a relationship of contrariety between sublimity and beauty. This finding opposes the theory of Greimas' semiotic square, in which sublimity stands as a contradictory of the technician. According to the culture industry theory, suggested by Held, the technician is an implication of sublimity. Through a technician, sublimity may pose as a complementarity or implication of beauty. Finally, sublimity might substitute beauty as well; furthermore, it constitutes practical valorization in the semiotic square of Floch. Moreover, the artist present as a ludic valorization stands as a contradictory, while art, serving as a utopian valorization, enacts as a contrary.

This study is semiotic analysis about 'dumb ways to die' that is produced by Melbourne Railway of Australia in 2012. By analyzing the symbolic representations through 'Actants model' of A.J. Greimas, extract the relationship between signification of the represented object in 'dumb ways to die'. Greimas' model helps to analyze the semiotic interpretation action that occurs above a layer of discourse. In addition, this study is to compare the property to distinguish the Semiotic 'Actants' to cause the behavior of the recipient by represented in the same ideological situation. This can determine the properties of the signification and gauge the level of symbolic images that are reproduced in the discourse process. Accordingly, guidance to become a developer by extracting the reproduction principle of the video that causes a user's action.

Using semiotic analysis, visual images in selected postmodern fashion advertisements were analyzed. Semiotics is the study of the structure of the meanings of signs. Semiotic analysis involves deconstruction, and thus draws on the researcher’s value-mediated introspection and subjective interpretation of texts i.e., ads). Through deconstruction, culturally assigned meanings, which represent consumers and culture, were revealed. Postmodern characteristics including open interpretation, use of the human body as an object, multi page format, new mood, black and white scenes, use of real people, and new ideology were identified in the ads. The importance of analyzing visual images in fashion ads was stressed in the findings of the study, as was the importance of educating consumers on how to read the visual images.

Stochastic phenomena induce us to construct a probability model and structure our thinking; corresponding models help us to understand and interpret the reality. They in turn equip us with tools to recognize, reconstruct and solve problems. Therefore, various implications in terms of methodology as well as epistemology naturally flow from different adoptions of models for probability. Right from the basic scenarios of different perspectives to explore reality, students are occasionally exposed to misunderstanding and misinterpretations. With realistic examples a multi-faceted image of probability and different interpretation will be considered in mathematical modelling activities. As an exploratory investigation, mathematical modelling activity for probability learning was elaborated through semiotic analysis. Especially, the coherence structure in mathematical modelling discourse was reviewed form a semiotic perspective. The discourses sampled from group activities were analyzed on the basis of semiotic perspectives taxonomical coherence relations.

본 연구에서는 국립공원 자연관찰로의 특징(기호)과 초등과학 환경 관련 핵심개념 및 환경교과의 생태교육 영역과의 연계성을 분석한 후, 바르트의 기호학적 이론을 바탕으로 장소정체성 기호학적 해석모델을 개발하여 초등학생부터 성인까지 가능한 자연관찰로의 생태교육적 장소정체성 형성 과정을 분석하였다. 내장산국립공원의 원적골 자연관찰로, 소백산국립공원의 희방계곡 자연찰로와 한려해상국립공원의 금산 자연관찰로를 연구 대상으로 하였다. 자연관찰로의 해설판 중심의 주변환경과 생태교육 내용체계와의 연계성을 분석한 결과, '생태환경의 체계' 영역과 가장 높은 연계성을 보였다. 자연관찰로의 장소정체성 형성 과정을 기호학적으로 분석한 결과, 장소성 형성에는 지리적 위치나 경관, 인공적 환경, 주변자연환경의 특징인 물리적 요소가 대부분 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 장소감 형성은 지식과 애착 요소가 동일하게 작용할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 장소성과 장소감 요소의 상호작용을 통해 형성될 수 있는 장소정체성은 행동적 내부 단계와 공감적 내부성 단계가 대부분이었다. 그러나 장소정체성 형성의 다양성을 위해서는 환경교육 프로젝트 개발과 자연관찰로 환경의 특이성이 반영된 주변환경과 해설판이 조성될 필요가 있다.

본 논문은 캐릭터의 기호학 분석을 통해 효과적인 게임 캐릭터 디자인 방법에 대해 제안하였다. 다양한 콘텐츠의 캐릭터 중 게임 캐릭터만이 가진 특징을 알아보고, 그 특징에 Scott McCloud의 "아이콘화"의 개념을 도입하여 캐릭터와 기호학의 관계에 대해 고찰하였다. 그리고 추상화된 기호적 캐릭터와 사실적 캐릭터를 구분하여 각각의 특징과 장점, 단점을 파악하고, 디자이너의 캐릭터 제작 과정과 수용자의 캐릭터 인지과정을 단계별로 나누어 기호학적으로 해석해보았다. 그 결과 두 과정을 서로 역순으로 진행된다는 것을 알 수 있었으며 수용자의 기호학 인식과정을 고려한 캐릭터 디자인 과정이 게임 콘텐츠 전반의 특징을 더 효과적으로 전달할 수 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

인간은 인간의 힘으로는 알 수 없는 많은 현상들과 대면하며 살고 있다. 그런 과정에서 인간은 시간의 경과에 따른 엄청난 경험의 축적과 사고의 발달을 근거로 수많은 해석을 낳았다. 인간의 인식이 자연 현상에 대해 적절한 해답을 내릴 수 없을 때 의존하는 것은 경험의 축적에 의한 심리 문화적 해석이었다. 이런 단계에서 자연에 대한 인간의 해석의 하나가 바로 속신일 수 있다. 특정 현상에 대한 인간의 인식론이 단문 형식으로 표현된 것이 속신인 것다. 이를 기호학적으로 표현한다면 '하나의 또는 몇몇의 기호나 조건이 하나 또는 몇몇의 결과를 드러낸다고 믿는 전통적인 표현'이라 하겠다. 속신은 세계에 대한 해석 행위로서 '민속적인 해석학'인 것이다. 속신에 대한 연구를 통해 본고에서 밝히고자 하는 것은 속신이 형성되는 과정을 기호학적으로 설명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 속신을 하나의 '해석소'로 파악한다. 이것은 퍼스의 기호이론에 의한 것이다. 그는 기호가 기호를 낳는 끊임없는 기호작용을 '기호-대상-해석소'간의 삼항관계를 통해 설명한다. 퍼스의 기호작용 개념은 속신의 형성과 더불어 그 특징을 설명하는데 도움이 된다. 속신을 하나의 해석소로서 간주할 때, 퍼스 기호학에서 해석소가 지니는 일반적인 특징으로 속신을 설명하는 것이 가능해 진다. 퍼스의 기호학에서는 자연 현상이나 사건, 행동 등의 범주가 기호학의 범위내에 포함될 수 있으며, 이런 점이 속신을 기호학적으로 고찰할 수 있게 하는 근거가 된다.

The beauty of the body could separately be defined from area to area, but there can't be any universal definition of it that is applicable throughout the world. The modern discourses on the body have frequently dealt with that, and the beauty of the body should be studied in light of sociocultural background. In today's world fashion industry, the body is represented in various ways, and how to express the body itself is considered from diverse perspectives. As it's now required to approach to fashion from the sociocultural standpoint of the body. a semiotic interpretation method was introduced. The reason was that from the viewpoint of semiotics, the beauty of the body has different implications for society as cultural sign, and they also could be regarded as sociocultural codes. In order to improve new light on the aesthetic consciousness of the body and how it's represented in modern fashion, earlier studies and existing theories were examined. The semiotic interpretation method was used to find out what the aesthetic consciousness of the body stood for and what implication it had for fashion. And in which way fashion represented aesthetic consciousness, including satire, pleasure, grotesque and decadence, through the body was examined. Fashion creates an artificial beauty of the body, and change in the body is followed by change in fashion.

In order to understand Changeologically on the meaning of FCST's TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) treatment procedure, Yi, Shike, Bi, Gen trigrams concerning the jaw and change by treatment were analyzed from the viewpoint of semiotic context of hexagon and holistic interpretation on disease. Yi is meant by jaw but actually indicates mouth made by maxilla and mandible, and it's characters are related with nourishing by aliment and words. But when we eat and speak in the daily life, jaw does not nourish properly it's own body by bad habit or postures. For the treatment of this ill state, there needs punishment and correction symbolized with Shike. Shike has fourth nine meaning obstacles between the two strong lines in the upper and lower end, and so it has the function of mastication and get rid of the fourth nine metaphorically indicating subluxation of axis using CBA and auxiliary measures of four movement or laughing methods. Bi expresses the achievement and effects of consecutive mastication process implicating normalized manifestation of jaw and its linked spinal function. Gen symbolizes removing selfish motive or partiality in advance and reaches the best state of the saint righteously self-nourishable human being.
