Rough surface characterization using off-axis digital holographic microscopy compensated with self-hologram rotation

  • In this paper, an off-axis digital holographic microscopy compensated with self-hologram rotation is presented. The process is implemented via subtracting the unwrapped phase maps of the off-axis parabolic hologram and its rotation $180^{\circ}$ to eliminate the tilt induced by the angle between the spherical object wave O and the plane reference wave R. Merit of the proposed method is that it can be done without prior knowledge of physical parameters and hence can reconstruct a parabolic hologram of $1024{\times}768$ pixels within tens of milliseconds since it doesn't require a digital reference wave. The method is applied to characterize rough gold bumps and the obtained results were compared with those extracted from the conventional reconstruction method. The comparison showed that the proposed method can characterize rough surfaces with excellent contrast and in realtime. Merit of the proposed method is that it can be used for monitoring smaller biological cells and micro-fluidic devices.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a remarriage preparation program. Based on the system theory, strong family perspective, care & justice perspectives, and empirical research in this field,4 session remarriage preparation program is developed. Target population of this program is persons who remarry and persons who marry with remarried partner This program is evaluated in terms of the level of remarriage preparation and level of changing attitude after education in terms of self-esteem, cognition & knowledge of parent behavior in the remarried family, object evaluation of their future remarriage life. Future research, theoretical and practical implications are added.

  • The object of this paper is to establish a unique common fixed point theorem through weak compatibility for a sequence of self-maps satisfying a generalized contractive condition in a generalized Menger space. It improves and generalizes the result of Milovanovic-Arandelovic [2], Vasuki [10] and Sehgal and Bharucha-Reid [8]. All the results presented in this paper are new.

  • The object of this paper is to prove two unique common fixed point theorems for a pair of a set-valued map and a self map satisfying a general contractive condition using orbital concept and weak-compatibility of the pair. One of these results generalizes substantially, the result of Dhage, Jennifer and Kang [4]. Simultaneously, its implications for two maps and one map improves and generalizes the results of Dhage [3], and Rhoades [11]. All the results of this paper are new.

  • This article describes a novel model-based compensating neural network (NN) model developed to be used in our active binocular head controller, which addresses both the kinematics and dynamics aspects in trying to precisely track a moving object of interest to keep it in view. The compensating NN model is constructed using two classes of self-tuning neural models: namely Neural Gas (NG) algorithm and SoftMax function networks. The resultant servo controller is shown to be able to handle the tracking problem with a minimum knowledge of the dynamic aspects of the system.

  • Laser Doppler velocimeters: (LDV)$^{1)}$ 의 대부분의 기본원리는 호모다인(honodyne)방법을 사용한다. 호모다인 방법 중에서 많이 사용되는 방법으로는 마이켈슨 간섭계식과 되먹임식(self-mixing type)$^{2)}$ 이 있다. 마이켈슨 간섭계식은 구성하는데는 많은 광학부품과 정밀한 정렬 장치들을 필요로 한다. 반면에 되먹임식은 레이저 공진기의 고유 주파수와 도플러 이동된 산란광을 공진기 속에서 자체 혼합하여 발생한 차주파수를 레이저 공진기 내부에 있는 pin-photodiode로 측정하므로 마이켈슨 간섭계에 비하여 간단한 장치로 속도계를 구성할 수 있다.   • Our examination of the relations of spherically symmetric accretion on a massive point object to viscous drag, neglecting gas pressure and using self-similar transformation, shows the behaviors of the asymptotic solutions? in the regions near to and far from the center. The viscosity reduces the free-fall velocity by the factor $(1\;+\;\zeta) ^{-1}$, and causes flattening in the density distribution. Therefore, the viscosity leads to the reduction of the mass accretion rate.

  • An in-line phase-shifting digital holographic microscopy system was constructed by inserting a conventional microscope in the object arm of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. It was used to measure the three dimensional shape of a micro Fresnel lens. It was also shown that both the lateral and the axial resolutions of the in-line phase-shifting system using a self-calibration algorithm were superior to those of the best off-axis system.

  • Aim: This study examined the correlation study of spiritual well-being, self-control, organizational commitment for the prevention of suicidal attempts by Korean soldiers. Methods: This study was non-experimental survey research design through a questionnaire containing 3 categories, spiritual well-being, self-control, organizational commitment with 599 subjects in the military in Korea. The data collected from the 1st to 28th of December, 2013, analyzed t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Spiritual well-being and self-control have a positive correlation with organizational commitment on object. Conclusion: To increase the organizational commitment of soldiers in the military, the importance of the spiritual well-being should be recognized as a health problem. In addition, it is also important to develop an educational program for achieving spiritual well-being, self-control on soldiers. This should make a healthier life for soldiers and contribute to society.

A Basic Study of Obstacles Extraction on the Road for the Stability of Self-driving Vehicles (자율주행 차량의 안전성을 위한 도로의 장애물 추출에 대한 기초 연구)

  • Recently, interest in the safety of Self-driving has been increasing. Self-driving have been studied and developed by many universities, research centers, car companies, and companies of other industries around the world since the middle 1980s. In this study, we propose the automatic extraction method of the threatening obstacle on the Road for the Self-driving. A threatening obstacle is defined in this study as a comparatively large object at center of the image. First of all, an input image and its decreased resolution images are segmented. Segmented areas are classified as the outer or the inner area. The outer area is adjacent to boundaries of the image and the other is not. Each area is merged with its neighbors when adjacent areas are included by a same area in the decreased resolution image. The Obstacle area and Non Obstacle area are selected from the inner area and outer area respectively. Obstacle areas are the representative areas for the obstacle and are selected by using the information about the area size and location. The Obstacle area and Non Obstacle area consist of the threatening obstacle on the road. Through experiments, we expect that the proposed method will be able to reduce accidents and casualties in Self-driving.
