  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of self-confidence and satisfaction level in teaching home economics between home economics majored teachers(HET) and other subject majored teachers(OST). The subjects of this study were 192 home economics teachers randomly selected from 96 middle schools all over the country. The data was collected from 16, september to 12, October, 1996, and was analyzed with descriptive statistics, crosstables, and t-test using SAS program. The major finding were as follows: 1) In general, home econimics is taught mostly by OST in boy' middle school. 92% of OST is employed in boy' middle school and 89.13% of them is employed in private boy' middle school. 2) OST had less in-service experiences than HET on sixth revised curriculum, and had lower recognition than HET on the goal, content, teaching method, evaluation of home economics. 3) There were significant difference on the level of self-confidence and satisfaction in teaching home economics between HET and OST.

  • In this paper the current-voltage characteristics of a submicron GaAs MESFET is simulated by using the self-consistent ensemble Monte Carlo method. The numerical algorithm employed in solving the two-dimensional Poisson equation is the successive over-relaxation(SOR) method. The total number of employed superparticles is about 1000 and the field adjusting time is 10fs. To obtain the steady-state results the simulation is performed for 10ps at each bias condition. The simulation results show the average electron velocity is modified by the gate voltage.

  • The residue number system offers the possibility of high-speed operation and error detection/correction because of the separability of arithmetic operations on each digit. A compact residue arithmetic module named the self-checking pulse-train residue arithmetic circuit is effectively employed as the basic module, and an efficient error detection/correction algorithm in which error detection is performed in each basic module and error correction is performed based on the parallelism of residue arithmetic is also employed. In this case, the error correcting circuit is imposed in series to non-redundant system. This design method has an advantage of compact hardware. Following the proposed method, a 2nd-order recursive fault-tolerant digital filter is practically implemented, and its fault-tolerant ability is proved by noise injection testing.

  • We describe a method for localizing a mobile robot in the working environment using a vision system and VRML. The robot identifies landmarks in the environment and carries out the self-positioning. The image-processing and neural network pattern matching technique are employed to recognize landmarks placed in a robot working environment. The robot self-positioning using vision system is based on the well-known localization algorithm. After self-positioning, 2D scene is overlaid with VRML scene. This paper describes how to realize the self-positioning and shows the result of overlaying between 2D scene and VRML scene. In addition we describe the advantage expected from overlapping both scenes.

  • The present longitudinal study examined reciprocal influence between self-esteem and academic achievement using cross-lagged autoregressive model. This study employed data(four wave) from Korea Youth Panel Survey. Participants were 300 students(143 boys, 157 girls) who were 4th graders in 2004 and 7th graders in 2007. The results of this study indicated that 4th graders' self-esteem influenced 5th graders' academic achievement, in turn, 5th graders' academic achievement influenced 6th graders' self-esteem. However, students' self-esteem in 6th grade did not influence their academic achievement during 7th grade. Conversely, 6th graders' academic achievement influenced 7th graders' self-esteem.

  • Purpose: This study was attempted to verify the effects of Tai Chi exercise on the depression and self efficacy of the patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Method: It employed a non-equivalent control group pre- and post-test design. The research instruments used in this study were depression and self efficacy. Thirty-two patients in the experimental group carried out 50 minutes of Tai Chi exercise for 12 weeks, and 29 patients in the control group did not. Before and after the experiment, both groups were tested for depression and self efficacy. Collected data were processed using the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program analyzing by the frequency, percentage, $X^2$- test, and t-test. Results: Depression significantly decreased in the experimental group. However the improvement in self efficacy of the rheumatoid arthritis patients was not statistically significant but slight enhancement was. Conclusion: Tai Chi exercise is an effective nursing intervention that can be used for rheumatoid arthritis patients.

  • The purpose of this study was performed to investigate the effects of self-foot reflexology on the stress, fatigue and sleep pattern of the nursing students. The research design was non-equivalent control group pretest and posttest design. The data were collected from January 18 to April 15, 2016. The participants were 68 nursing students. The instruments used for the study were the stress, fatigue, and sleep pattern. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0 program. In order to compare the effect of the pre-post self foot reflexology, t-test was employed. There was significant differences in stress after providing self foot reflexology. but There was not significant differences in fatigue and sleep pattern after providing self foot reflexology. In conclusion, These findings suggest that self foot reflexology could be utilized as an effective nursing intervention to reduce stress.

  • Purpose: Flipped learning is a novel teaching strategy for encouraging students to engage in the learning process. This study aimed to redesign the public health nursing course and examine the implications of flipped learning on learning outcomes, self-efficacy, and self-leadership in undergraduate programs. Methods: A one-group, pretest-posttest design was used. A total of 80 students participated in this study. The flipped learning method was employed between April 14 and June 5, 2016. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent t-test. Results: The self-efficacy of the lower 25% group based on academic performance was significantly increased; however, self-leadership did not show any change after utilizing flipped learning. Overall, 65.4% of the students were satisfied with their class. Conclusion: Flipped learning was an effective strategy for students with low achievement. Despite these advantages, it was considered to reduce the burden of studying.

  • The purpose this study is to segments apparel market based on difference real-self image and ideal-self image. The objects of the study were to prepare for the establishment of marketing strategy and alternative plan intended to users which are needed in subdivided market, after analyzing according to what the subdivided market is divided into due to the difference real-self image and idea-self image and what difference do they show as a demographic special quality or as a general active special quality in each subdivided market. Factor analysis was performed to determine the leading difference real-self image and ideal-self image, and cluster analysis was employed to identify groups of respondents based on the delineated five image difference factors. Based on the finding, three distinct groups were formed: ideal-self image seeker group, moderators group, real-self image seeker group. And logistic regression was used to assess the relative importance that demographic characteristics play in determining the segmentation. The results of this study show statistically significant differences among the three groups in terms of demographic. Marketing and management implications for effectively targeting the segments are discussed.

  • The aim of this study is to reveal errors in the estimations on the nonstandard workers scale which have resulted from little consideration for bogus self-employment. Bogus self-employment means disguised employment relationships that are considered to be self-employed workers even though they have inherent subordination. The methods of previous studies estimate that the bogus self-employed workers are excluded from estimations because they are not workers in principle. We analyze the scale of the bogus self-employments using the empirical data [the Korean Welfare Panel of 2008-2013(six wave panel)] to re-estimate the scale of non-standard workers. In 2013, the year of the last wave, the percentage of the bogus self-employment was high, the proportion of them is 28.5% among self-employment without owning a place of business. Our results expect the number of contract workers from re-analysis would be over 740 thousand when reflecting on the predictive value in the actual number of paid workers. In conclusion, it is necessary to apply reasonable methods of analysis concerning the scope and scale of the nonstandard workers for the sake of coping with measures against the problem of nonstandard workers. The aim of this study is to reveal the estimation error on nonstandard workers' scale which are resulted from having no consideration for bogus self-employment. Bogus self-employment means disguised employment relationship that is considered as self-employment workers even though they have inherent subordination. The methods of previous researches' estimation on nonstandard workers have the problem that the bogus self-employment workers are excluded from estimation because they are not workers in principle.
